Section 88
They took a shower, changed their clothes, then headed for the dining room. Both Miles and William's parents were already there, excited to chat while enjoying their meal. Miles sat to Shane's right and Kirana sat by his side. A servant placed a bowl of soup in front of them. Hearing what they were talking about, Miles concluded that his son had just watched The Cars. He kept asking about the car to his grandfather.
Amanda announces about their big family dinner plans on the night of the day before the wedding. Miles agreed and put it all into his mother's hands. Their families are not much. Only Grandpa and Grandma on Shane's side, then an uncle and aunt and their extended family on Amanda's side.
“My brother lives near here. Can we invite him too?” ask Kirana expectantly.
“Of course.” Amanda says quickly. “Give me the phone number, let me invite.”
“I have a better suggestion. We don't know him yet. How about we invite them to dinner here tomorrow?” shane's.
“Good capsule!” Amanda nodded in agreement. They both looked towards Kirana.
“Thank you.” said Kirana happy.
Miles touched his hand on the table. Of course Kirana misses her brother so much that she is so eager to meet him. He should have thought about that. The woman looked at him and smiled. Miles raised his hand and kissed the back of it. He can't be sad anymore.
The next day, they went to church to see the pastor who would bless their marriage. William agrees to stay home with his grandparents. That way, they have plenty of time to concentrate in the church. William will be fine.
The meeting went well and smoothly. All day they were in his room. They get some premarital advice and consultations. Miles is not afraid of the facts and problems that married couples usually face. He's experienced it before. Instead, Kirana looked scared. But Miles assures him that he will not be alone through it.
The pastor also led them to pray and ask for forgiveness for their sins. Miles knows their intimate relationship is a mistake, but he'll fix it. Their marriage was a gift, and so was William. He knows God forgives them and will bless their marriage and family.
That night, Kirana was very nervous. Miles smiled at him. His fiancee has dressed well. She wears a baby-doll top combined with a sweater, blue jeans, and boots because the October air in England is so cold. He let the long hair that had already surpassed his waist be unraveled. The edges form curls naturally. She's gorgeous.
The sound of pebbles passed by vehicle tires is heard up to the living room. Kirana looked towards him. Miles smiled reassuringly. The front door opened, and footsteps approached the room where they were. The door was opened by the butler, they simultaneously stood up. The first to enter was a woman he had seen through a photo Reynand had given him. The Ratri Purnama Delaney.
Kirana immediately approached him. They hugged for a while. The one who entered next was a daughter, followed by a young man, then a man who was definitely Kirana's sister-in-law. Amanda, Shane, and William shook their hands in turn. Miles did it. He stood at Kirana's side. Ratri let go of his embrace and extended his hand to Miles. They shook hands as Ratri stared at him long enough for Miles to feel uncomfortable. The woman then shook the hands of both her parents and son.
Miles sat with Kirana on his left side and William on his right. Shane and Amanda sat in two seats to their right. Ratri and his family sit across from Miles and his family. Miles wrapped his hands around Kirana's waist, unable to keep his hands away from her. The woman held her other hand and placed it on her lap, trying to reduce her nervousness.
“So, you guys are brothers?” ask Amanda to know. He looked towards Ratri then Kirana. “You are not at all similar.”
“You've been staying here a long time?” ask again.
“Brian has lived in this city since he was born, as well as children. I lived here less than twenty years. I don't count it.” Ratri laughed a little. Amanda nodded slowly.
“If you may know, which company do you have? I often hear Delaney's name from somewhere.” asked Shane to Brian half-thought. The man's face was red.
“Maybe you mean, my father. I'm just a regular employee at his company.” said Brian low. Miles could see Ratri's face stiffening. So clear that he could see it.
“Your father Virgil Delaney?” shane asked in disbelief. Brian nodded his head. “He was often my partner when we were young and built all from scratch.”
The door opened and the butler gave a signal towards Amanda. The woman smiled. “Before the conversation gets serious, come on, we're the dining room. Dinner is ready.” take Amanda.
“I'm sorry. If you've talked about work always forget time.” joked Shane. “Come, come, I'm hungry.”
Amanda and Shane walk in front holding William's hand between them. His son did not stop talking. Miles shook his head in amusement. Ratri and Brian followed behind with their two children. Miles touched Kirana's back with his left hand and walked together behind them all.
“You okay?” miles whisper. Kirana smiled and nodded.
During their meal, Miles enjoyed seeing his father and mother leading the conversation. They asked so many questions to their four guests, so eager to get to know them personally. William was happily enjoying his meal. He loves to eat meat and pizza. One of the meals served that night was a steak with a wide selection of seasonings. That's why his son ate so well.
“There is sauce on the corner of your lips.” Miles told Kirana. The woman held up the napkin that was on her lap. He held Kirana's hand. After glancing at William not looking in their direction, he whispered. “I know how to clean faster.” Miles licked his delicious-tasting lips because of the sauce.
“Miles, later someone sees us.” protest Kirana. Miles kissed her again before letting the woman clean her lipstick off Miles' lips. The man smiled.
“They all know I'm crazy about you.” Miles said in self-defense.
“Of course they know. That's why you're going to marry me. What a shocking news.” said Kirana sarcas while rolling her eyes. Miles laughed a little.
