The Unforgettable Story
Section 84

Miles took a deep breath. He looks frustrated but Kirana doesn't care. If he wanted to talk about this, then they would talk about it. Kirana will not stop until things become clear. And it clearly means Miles has to forget about his intention to marry her. Kirana's gonna make him hate her if it makes him stay away.

“What should I do to make you believe me?” Miles took his hand. “Kirana, I don't care about anyone else's opinion. I only care about my own opinion. And to me, you are so beautiful. You have captured my heart the first night we made love. Six years passed and I still want you. I don't want anything else. I just want you. That's not a fake compliment, sweetheart. I mean it.”

“You'll regret it, Miles. I'm not like you see now.” Kirana insists.

“I still want to marry you.” said Miles seriously.

“There will be a better woman who shows up later that makes you forget about me. You'd prefer him over me.” Because the others are too. What would make Miles different from the others? There aren't.

“It won't happen. There was no other woman after I met you. Not even after we get married. I still want to marry you.” Miles really did not back down after what Kirana had said.

“I don't love you.” says Kirana annoyed. Miles smiled.

“I believe I can make you love me. Marry me, Kirana.” said Miles would not give up.

“Why don't you give up too? Why, Miles?” kirana protests.

“Because I love you.” And with that sentence, Miles knocked down the wall he had built. Kirana was crying sobbing. He covered his face with his free hand. Miles saw it for a while. He sat down and hugged her. Kirana wrapped her hands around her waist, pulling the man closer. Then he buried his face in Miles' neck.

“I also love you.” isak Kirana. Miles smiled very happily.

“I know.”

Miles let the woman in his arms cry for as long as she needed. He whispers the word love and continues to convince her that they will be happy together. Kirana felt calm hearing the whisper. She also felt so relieved that she finally declared her love to the man. Once it calmed down, he loosened his embrace.

“What do you need to take care of that wedding preparation? My birth certificate? Passport?” Kirana wiped her wet face.

“I don't need anything. I've got all the information and documents I need.” replied Miles casually. Kirana frowned. He looked at Miles in surprise.

“Documents?”

“I took a passport from your bag.” Kirana opened her mouth to hear that. Miles is grinning wide. “I saw you put it in a bag while you were packing things to move here. So, I know where I can find her.” Miles shrugged his shoulders. Kirana shook her head.

“OK. Why next month?” ask Kirana curiously. Marriage is not an easy thing to take care of. They had to talk to Miles' parents and family, pick a date, spread out invitations, and other details.

“I don't want to wait.” Miles rubbed Kirana's stomach. “Your stomach will get bigger every day. Next month is the fastest they can make. If they can, I want to marry you today too.”

“Both of your parents must hate me.” Kirana said sadly. Miles stroked his cheek.

“They have liked you both just by hearing your name.” he said.

“You're a bitch, Miles.” said Kirana. Miles laughed a little.

That afternoon, they went to the mall and regretted it. They forget that it is Sunday. Every mall is full of people looking for entertainment. Not with William. Gleefully he moved from one shelf to another choosing the book he wanted. All the attention-grabbing books he found, he gave to Kirana for examination. Kirana rounded her eyes. There are many books that his son took. Miles just laughed.

“We may not have time to go to the bookstore anytime soon. I have to go out of town for two weeks. Choose a book for a month. We can take some to England. Don't worry about money.” Miles picked up the book on the top stack and looked at the cover.

“You will make it spoiled, Miles.” Kirana.

“I don't mind spoiling him with books. Origin is not a toy.” said Miles seriously. Kirana nodded her head in agreement with a smile.

“Quite fair.” He began to examine the book.

Miles called their son back as soon as Kirana got enough books for him. Their next goal shocked Kirana. Miles entered a jewelry store. Knowing what he wanted, Miles called it to the shopkeeper. Several gold rings combined with diamond-encrusted titanium were placed in front of them. William stared in amazement at every gemstone on every ring.

“Some you like?” ask Miles. Kirana looked at him confusedly. “Ayo.”

“But, Miles. All of this is very expensive.” whispered Kirana. The shopkeeper left them with the ring and served the other couple.

“Who did you buy this ring for?” kirana asked confusedly. Miles simply smiled and looked towards the shopkeeper to return to serve them.

“We want this one.” Miles pointed to the ring Kirana had chosen. “Can you please get the appropriate size? Thank you.”

“Good. Please wait a minute.” The man approached the glass cabinet behind him. Kirana frowned as she glanced at Miles. The man just smiled meaningfully. “This, Mom. Please try this one.” He gave a ring similar to the one Kirana chose but of a different size.

“Let me do.” Miles drops William off and asks him to stay by his side. She smilingly took the ring from inside her box and put it on Kirana's right ring finger. The ring was on his finger.

“Miles, this,” Understand what the man is doing, Kirana dumbfounded.

“You get the right size. Thank you.” Miles took out a credit card from his wallet and gave it to the man. After the man left, he looked back at Kirana, lowered his body, and kissed her.

“What is this kiss for?” asked Kirana who nervously looked around them.

“Now you are officially my fiancee.” Miles once again kissed his lips. Kirana smiled. “I love you, Kirana.”

“I love you too, Miles.”

“Mom, Dad, not here.” protest William. He stomped his feet in annoyance to the floor. Miles smiled. He lifted his son up and carried him back.

“This one's for you.” Miles kissed his son's soft cheeks. The boy laughed amusedly. “I love you, Will.”

“I too, Dad.” William tightened his embrace on his papa.

Miles held William in one hand and in the other held a plastic bag full of children's reading books as he exited the store. Kirana wrapped her hand around Miles' arm. William chose to eat at one of the ice cream cafes. Kirana could already guess what her son would order. Banana split her favorite.

He was happy to see Miles' efforts to get to know their son. Kirana smiled whenever the man's eyes were round hearing William's question. He must have wondered how could their son continue to ask questions about almost everything. Since her silly answer to William's first question, she was careful and thought it over well before answering William's question.

When a man comes along and calls himself from an ad agency, Kirana doesn't wait until she stops introducing herself. She simply asked for her business card and promised to discuss her offer with her husband. Miles looked at him in disbelief. After the man left, Kirana explained everything. Regarding the offer of an ad for their son so that William became their advertising model. Miles smiled proudly.

In the evening, Miles returns to read William a book of lullabies. Not wanting to disturb them, Kirana left the two men in her son's room. She took a shower, changed into one of her evening gowns, and daubed the night cream on her face. Miles went into the bathroom while he was combing his hair. The man put one hand on Kirana's stomach, wiped her hair with his other hand, and kissed her shoulder.

“Will?” ask Kirana. He placed the comb he was holding onto the counter.

“Have slept.” Miles kissed her neck and laughed. “You're right. Not finished one book, he's asleep.”

“You great papa, Miles.” praise Kirana sincerely. Miles lifted his head. Their eyes met in the mirror.

“You're a cool mom.” Miles said mimicking how William said it. “I love you. Thank you for marrying me.”

“Shortly. I didn't say I wanted to marry you.” Kirana frowned.

“Mm-hm. Yep. You just said I was a bitch.” Miles laughed a little. Kirana laughed.

“I love you too, Miles. Even though sometimes you suck.” Kirana squinted her eyes. They laugh together.

“Are you done?” Miles kissed Kirana's neck. “Come, we sleep now.”

“Sleep?” kirana Goda. Miles laughed a little.

“You understand what I mean.”

There was nothing more he needed to fear now. He still couldn't believe that he thought such a bad thing about Miles. This man was very kind to him, treated him like a queen, fought for his love despite being repeatedly hurt by his rejection, and now, he even easily adjusted himself to being a father and was very affectionate towards their son.

She was already impatiently waiting for the day she was no longer a mere Kirana Paramitha, but Madame Bradford.
