Chapter 101's

Inside the room, where everyone gathered without saying a word, Kagome looked at the smiling Rin in front of her. Neither he nor Jinenji nor Inukimi had examined the western soil's kisaki, and they did not know what to say to explain its condition.

Rin was already conscious, but her circumstances did not change much. Anyone who saw it would be aware, this human woman was not in good health. Despite smiling, even though her clear brown eyes shine beautifully—the condition is still very worrisome.

What's more now, the meido seki turns red and sticks to Rin's chest. The stone beat in rhythm with the beating of the human woman's heart, as if it were part of the western earth's kisaki.

"Bet a lot of rest, Rin-chan," Kagome smiled gently. The present condition is getting more and more erratic, but, she couldn't possibly say it to Rin. He did not want this human woman to worry. "You'll be healthy again."

Rin nodded his head slowly with a smile on his face. "Rin understands Kagome-sama."

He turned his head to Rin's side and laughed at Sesshoumaru. The inuyoukai sits right next to him, with the body and the two hands supporting his tiny body sitting on the futon. "Rin it's okay Sesshoumaru-sama.."

Sesshoumaru did not reply to Rin's words. That inuyoukai face was without his expression. However, even so, he could clearly see the worry within the pair of golden eyes.

Smiling, slowly, Rin raised both her hands to touch the beating meido seki. He touched it very gently. "Meido seki is harmless to Rin, Sesshoumaru-sama.."

Rin knows, everything in this room is very worried about him, especially for meido seki who has now become one with him.

"Why are you sure, little Rin?" ask Inukimi quietly. He was the previous owner of the meido seki, and also, he had seen the stone since he was a child. Now, however, the stone looked very foreign to him.

Inukimi's question made Rin lower her head staring at the red stone she touched gently. "Rin knows, Mother. But, Rin couldn't explain it.."

Rin's answer only confused everyone. Meido Seki is dangerous because Rin is human. Humans could not possibly use it, moreover, the stone had now become part of the human woman herself.

"Didn't the meido seki shine twice and Rin be fine?" ryn continued again and laughed.  "This time too, didn't Rin wake up again when she became part of Rin's body and beat?"

Rin's defense made everything in the room go silent. What Rin said was very reasonable, during this time when Rin's situation worsened, meido seki always appeared to be a savior, but–they clearly could not forget the madness of the stone attack that did not allow them to approach in the south.

"Meido seki is good." a gentle smile filled Rin's pretty face. Her clear brown eyes sparkled with gratitude. "Rin thanks him, because he's always protecting Rin..."

"Protect? Protect you from what?" ask Kagome confused.

Kagome's question left Rin stunned. But, a moment later, he laughed again. "Rin doesn't know. But, take it easy, Rin is fine."

Rin's attitude and Rin's answer only made everything in the room fall silent again. Inwardly, they can only hope that the words of the human woman are true, that nothing will happen to her.

"Alright," said Kagome then breaking the silence. "You rest up, Rin-chan. We won't bother you anymore."

Everyone in the room said nothing hearing Kagome's words. But, they know the miko's words are true, Rin does need a break.

Slowly, they all then transmitted themselves and walked away from the room. Kagome the last one came out, then looked back at Sesshoumaru. "Sister, I'm in the next room, call me if you need help."

As usual, Sesshoumaru did not reply or react to Kagome's remarks. However, the future miko knew, the inuyoukai it understood.

Not saying anything more, Kagome then closed the door of the room quietly, leaving Rin and Sesshoumaru alone in the room.

The silence made Sesshoumaru then slowly lay Rin on top of the futon. Sitting at the side staring at her grisly without saying a word, she saw a smile as beautiful as spring on that exhausted face.

"Sesshoumaru-sama," call Rin slowly. His brown eyes stared gently at the inuyoukai ruler of the western lands. "Are you lying next to Rin now?"

Sesshoumaru looked at Rin without answering. A moment later, he opened the futon blanket and lay down beside his wife.

Rin smiled wider and saw Sesshoumaru granting his request. "Sesshoumaru-sama," he called again. "Would you hug Rin now?"

Remaining unanswered, Sesshoumaru immediately raised both hands hugging Rin, and made the human woman laugh freely.

Hugging Rin tightly, Sesshoumaru closed his eyes. She doesn't know what she's feeling right now–it all feels so fucked up. He was still unable to feel relieved even though those clear brown eyes had opened. As long as this human woman isn't as healthy as she should–she can't calm down.

Hundreds of years into his long life, everything changed. From voidness to happiness, and happiness slowly becomes obscurity. What changes will happen in the future? In the future, what will their lives look like?–Sesshoumaru really do not know.

A warm hug, without a word. But, Rin could feel it, all the emotions Sesshoumaru felt. Raising his hand, he then returned that tight hug. "We will always stay, Sesshoumaru-sama.."

The words that Rin spoke, how many times had Sesshoumaru heard them. When all was lost, when all hope was lost, he only hoped that it would become a common thread that would lead them back to his side.

"Please promise Sesshoumaru this," Sesshoumaru tightened his embrace. His voice was flat, but full of pleadings "The two of you will never leave this Sesshoumaru.."

Rin was speechless at Sesshoumaru's words or the inuyoukai plea he loved with all his soul and body.

Protecting you from what?

Kagome's question just crossed Rin's head. He answers the future miko in front of everyone; he doesn't know–he's lying.

Rin knew what meido was protecting her from. But, he couldn't say it. This ticking stone protects it from time that has returned to motion–protects an existence that should not be in this world anymore.

But, being in this embrace now, with their unborn child–Ah, Rin rightly did not want to think anymore. It's okay, it's not time, everything will be fine. For Sesshoumaru, for their child–he will pass this all.

Squeeze his embrace. Smell his distinctive smell and soothe him, feel the warmth of the body he likes as well as hear the sound of their same heartbeat–Rin will stay.

"Yes, Rin promised you Sesshoumaru-sama, Rin and our son will never leave you.."

Whatever happens, Rin will keep this promise.

Kohaku really wanted to shout loudly and throw his kusarigama at the fat and short-bodied noble sitting in front now. Never had he seen a human who had such a narrow brain.

"My army is strong and numerous," the nobleman laughed. Sitting while fanning the hot air, he looked at Kohaku with a condescending look. "Other nobles are also willing to help, not to mention taijiya, miko and the priest."

Kohaku who was within the palace of the influential human lord Mio felt an overwhelming headache now. Ever since getting the info that says there are nobles who are looking for services to kill kisaki western land, he decided to investigate what really happened.

Disbelief and confusion are the first things Kohaku feels when it comes to knowing the cause. The human world now labels Rin, the kisaki of the western lands as a greedy human woman who wants to rule all of Japan and make humans slaves of youkai. However, what was more surprising was that there were nobles who were willing to attack the western youkai and kill the western land kisaki.

"We won't lose, we can definitely annihilate the youkai from the west and kill the ruler."

Kohaku took a deep breath hearing the words of the noble Mio who was full of selflessness. Destroying youkai from the west?–killing Sesshoumaru? Does this foolish ruler in front of him know what he is saying?

Who is Sesshoumaru?–dia is a daiyoukai who is even feared by youkai. In his hands, there were thousands of strong youkai who were willing to die for him–Kohaku remembered how big and terrible the youkai army led by the ruler of the western land in the west-south war last year. His figure it–he is the ruler of the ruler. How can humans kill him? Let alone killing, maybe touching it, the joint army that the noble Mio was proud of was unable to.

"We can definitely destroy the ambition and kill that cheap woman. We're gonna save humanity."

"Pull what you say!!" kohaku orders in a loud voice. Anger filled him as he heard how the foolish ruler in front of him called Rin. "She's not a cheap woman."

Noble Mio was speechless hearing Kohaku's words. He could feel the overwhelming fury of the young taijiya in front of him, the pair of eyes that were staring at him right now was so sharp and terrifying.

If only the young taijiya were not Kohaku, the famous youkai slayer, he would not have taken the time to talk to her. What did he think was himself in front of this Mio ruling noble?

"Stop what you plan to do" Kohaku continued, trying to control his emotions that were about to explode. "You will only lead your army to destruction."

Kohaku's words immediately made the fear of Mio's nobility change replaced by anger. Standing up, he shouted out loudly and made the surrounding soldiers draw swords and spears at the young taijiya. "What do you mean!!!??"

Stop his plan of conquering the youkai from the west? Does the stupid taijiya in front of him know that he is, this great noble will lose what if he misses this golden opportunity??–land and glory!!

The western Youkai land has long had an unusually wide land of power. Each of his lands prospered with abundant natural resources. If he can properly obliterate the western land youkai, it will all be his.

Ever since he heard about the rumors about the kisaki of the western lands circulating, he and a few other high nobles had been planning this attack. Count on their powers and attract taijiya, miko and priests on the grounds of human survival– there will be no one who disagrees with their decisions; they will be seen as heroes in the future.

Land and natural resources will be shared between them nobles and for the taijiyas, miko and priestess–will they be content to realize their purpose in life killing youkai? Once the oars of the two islands are exceeded–how could they miss this opportunity?

Kohaku stared at the anger of the nobility before him. He knew that whatever he said would be useless. Saving the human race? The young Taijiya really wanted to laugh hearing that. He knew what these human nobles wanted– the greed in their eyes was clearly visible.

Standing up, Kohaku paid no heed to the noble Mio and her soldiers. "Cirara!"

A large two-tailed nekomata suddenly barged in through the window startling the Mio nobles and the parajurits present. A voice of fear and shouting immediately filled the room.

Kohaku immediately jumped up on Kirara's back, the nekomata. He did not allow the slightest trace of his gaze to the Mio noble who was yelling full of anger at him.

Jumping out of the room they were in, Kirara flew over the blue sky while dodging the arrows that shot towards her and Kohaku.

Patting Kirara's head slowly, Kohaku's eyes shone determinedly to protect. "Kirara, we're going to the west palace now."

"What do you want to tell this Sesshoumaru?"

Standing in the study, Sesshoumaru looked at Kagome, Jinenji and Inukimi who were standing in front of him in silence.

A week has passed since the last attack on Rin's heart that stopped beating. However, in this week also, the condition of human women who are kisaki western land began to improve. Although still weak and pale, he had started to be able to walk even for a little while.

In this week, Sesshoumaru never left Rin for a second as well, he even did all his work as a ruler in their room.

Right now, Sesshoumaru was in his study and was not beside Rin, not least because Inukimi asked for it. She doesn't know what her birth mother means, but when she goes inside and finds Kagome and Jinenji, the inuyoukai know, there is something important and related to Rin that they want to convey.

Sesshoumaru's question did not make Kagome, Jinenji or Inukimi open their mouths to answer.  They are still silent, do not know how to convey the information.

"Sesshoumaru," Inukimi opened her mouth. His face looked calm, but not for his golden eyes. There is an illegible emotion that satisfies it. "It concerns Rin and the child in her stomach."

Inukimi's words made Sesshoumaru stunned. But, he still did not say anything, his two golden eyes staring at the sharper Inukimi.

"Rin is human, and the child in the womb is hanyou," Inukimi continued. There was a tremendous pain filling his heart as he said it all. "For a human being, conceiving a hanyou is not easy. It's hard and it takes energy.."

"Tell me the gist of your words, Mother." Sesshoumaru's voice grew heavier, making Kagome and Jinenji's hair stand on end. His golden eyes slowly turned red.

Inukimi remained calm seeing the reaction of her biological son. However, the sadness on his face was unbearable anymore. "Rin's little health condition that has not improved has not allowed her to conceive a hanyou now. There are only two possibilities if she remains pregnant, namely little Rin will die during childbirth and your child lives–or the worst condition, little Rin and your child will die together during the process of giving birth.."

"You mean mother?" ask Sesshoumaru again. His eyes had turned perfectly red, both of his lips raised revealing his sharp fangs.

"Little Rin and your son can't live together.."

"You rested the quiet mother-in-law," Mamoru laughed full of self-righteousness as he flailed his chest with his fist. "The flowers in the garden have been taken care of."

"What do you mean, Mamoru??" sela Aya was upset. Both of his eyes glared at his younger brother. "You just stand and play with Shiro in the park. Watering, fertilizer it's all me and Maya did!!"

"Yes!! You are shameless enough to say that to Rin-chan in front of both of us!!" added Maya, her voice rising full of anger.

Mamoru immediately turned her face to look at the anger of her two twin sisters. With an innocent face she looked at Shiro who was beside her. "Shiro, the two of us are also helping right? We're not playing at all, are we?"

"Yes!!" shouts Shiro happily. His two golden eyes sparkled at Mamoru. "Chiro and Mamoru help!! Chiro and Mamoru catch the horn beetle on the cakura tree!!!"

"No, Shiro," cut Mamoru quickly. "We don't catch the beetles, we both water and give the flowers fertilizer."

"Ohh," cried Shiro plainly and smiled widely. "Yes, Mamoru and Chiro water and provide fertilizer!!"

"Mamoru!! Don't teach Shiro to lie!!!" yelled Aya and Maya together because they could not stand Mamoru's attitude anymore.

"It's been, it's been," Sango relays as she shook her head looking at her son's attitude. "Don't make a fuss, you'll disturb Rin-chan to rest."

Rin who was sitting on the futon just laughed at the behavior of the children who were beside him.

Sango, Miroku, their children along with Inuyasha and Shiro are in the ruling room of the western lands now. They come to visit Rin because they know Sesshoumaru is not in the room.

Since Rin's health deteriorated, the ruler of the western lands never abandoned the human woman. He who was always around with unreadable emotions and high vigilance, made Aya, Maya, Mamoru and Shiro did not dare to approach–they were afraid of him.

Sango who was next to Rin's futon with the children then turned his head to look at Miroku and Inuyasha who were sitting not far behind. "Miroku, say something to change Mamoru's attitude!"

Mamoru laughed at Miroku's words. "Calm down, Sango. When he grows up, his attitude will change. I used to be more or less like that."

With both hands folded on her chest, Inuyasha turned her head slowly looking at Miroku hearing the laughter of her best friend. "Until now you've also never changed–lying with an innocent face."

"Ah," Miroku's smile quickly. He immediately raised a hand patting Inuyasha's shoulder. "What are you talking about, Inuyasha? When did I lie??"

Inuyasha did not answer Miroku's question. But a moment later, the unconcerned expression on his face became solemn as he sensed the approaching aura.

Shiro who was an inuanyou could also sense that aura. Frightened, she immediately ran towards Inuyasha and hugged him tightly. For Aya, Maya and Mamoru, seeing Shiro's attitude, they immediately knew what was happening. Moving fast, they hid behind Sango's back.

"Sesshoumaru is back." said Miroku slowly. He could also sense the terrifying aura present, as well as the silent Sango.

Slowly, the door of the shoji room opened and revealed the figure of the daiyoukai lord of the western lands who walked in with his expressionless face.

"Sesshoumaru-sama." Call Rin with a beautiful smile on your face.

As usual, Sesshoumaru did not return the call. Stepping in, he headed towards Rin who was sitting on the futon.

"We go first, Rin," Inuyasha said suddenly. Rise to his feet he immediately carried Shiro who was still frightened. "You've got plenty of rest."

"Inuyasha is right, you have enough rest, Rin-chan," smiled Miroku and stood up, as well as Sango. Taijiya looked gently at Rin. "We don't bother you anymore."

Aya, Maya and Mamoru did not say anything. Following Sango and Miroku, the three of them then looked back and waved at the human woman.

Rin returned the wave of their hands with a gentle smile on her beautiful face. He said nothing and stared at the figures of all of them who then disappeared behind shoji's door.

While living alone with Sesshoumaru, Rin then returned his gaze to Sesshoumaru who had been sitting behind him. Slowly with a smile that did not disappear, he leaned his back on the chest of the ruler of the western land.

Sesshoumaru immediately raised both his hands hugging Rin's stomach. Immersing her expressionless face in Rin's neck slit, she hides her face and eyes from the woman she loves.

"Sesshounaru-sama.." call Rin slowly. Not knowing why, he felt that there was something strange about this inuyoukai hug right now. "What's wrong?"

"It's okay." Reply Sesshoumaru softly with his flat voice emotionless. However, he still did not lift his face at all.

Rin no longer asked hearing Sesshoumaru's answer. He nodded his head slowly, though inwardly, he knew, something was bothering him right now.

Moving both hands, Rin then touched the hand of Sesshoumaru yamg on his stomach. What disturbs the inuyoukai, Rin does not know, but he is sure, it is related to his health.

There was sadness felt by Rin, along with feelings of guilt. What does Sesshoumaru look like now?–dia is so fucked up. Although her face remained expressionless, although her voice remained calm, Rin could see all the real emotions of the inuyoukai from the pair of eyes that were staring at her.

There is sadness, there is confusion, there is helplessness–ada fear. Sesshoumaru is strong and not afraid of anything, now because of himself–he is afraid. How painful it was for Rin.

Rin had always liked the figure of Sesshoumaru whom she had seen for a long time. So strong, self-worth high, calm and fearless. But–his charming figure changed. Seeing someone you love change because of yourself, how much Rin hates her now.

Loves.

If Rin knew from the beginning, her love would turn this inuyoukai into this, would she dare to love him?–maybe she wouldn't dare, no, because he never wanted the person who had everything to change.

But...

For the new life that is in her womb, does Rin dare to sacrifice it? Dare to lose it?–Rin dare not. Love Sesshounaru and love their child. Between the two of them, dare or not–all the answers are really painful.

Rin often thought now, why did this happen to them? What was their mistake until a fate like this was written to be their story?–he just wants to love and live happily with Sesshoumaru and their child. Was that wrong?

Forever together.

Ask for it since long ago, his wishes and hopes since childhood. Is it wrong?–really everything that exists is very painful.

What's to do now? Rin doesn't know. It's all dark and scary. However, all he knew; he had to be strong. Strong as he can. For the sake of Sesshoumaru, for the sake of their son–for the future is there.

"Sesshoumaru-sama," call Rin again slowly. Grazing his stomach slowly, he smiled. An overwhelming drowsiness suddenly attacked him. "Rin will definitely give Sesshoumaru-sama a happy family..."

Sesshoumaru clenched his teeth tightly and closed his eyes hearing Rin's words. A tremendous pain assaulted him, like an endless slice of the sword at his heart. It's painful and painful.

Clenching his embrace, Sesshoumaru could feel the tiny hand moving slowly stop, and he could also feel the human woman who was in his arms falling asleep.

Slowly, moving his face away from Rin's neck slit, Sesshoumaru opened his eyes looking at the face of the woman he loved in silence.

A happy family.

How painful those words are now. A happy family where he, Rin and their son will always be together. But nevertheless..

Sesshoumaru can't have it a happy family. The circumstances forced her, she was asked to choose–pick something that really hurt; Rin or their child.

The woman he loved so much and their precious child. The smile of the eternal season he loved or the warmth of that flat stomach when at first he realized his existence–Sesshoumaru really hope this is all just a nightmare.

A dream in which when she opens her eyes, she will find Rin laughing and smiling at her with her cheeks blushing red like roses. The fact that in fact, the human women he loved and their precious children were healthy.

Who should he choose? Can he lose Rin?–he can't. Can she lose their child?–she doesn't know either. Both of them were equally valuable, something of no value in this world. How could he choose?

But–dia still has to choose. Sesshoumaru did not have much time, before the child in Rin's womb grew up, he had to choose between them; Rin or their child.

Staring at Rin and then looking at that flat stomach, Sesshoumaru really wanted to laugh now. Who would have thought, there would be a day like this in the life of Sesshoumaru, the daiyouki ruler of the western lands that all humans and youkai feared?–he never expected it.

There is no right choice in this situation. But, to minimize the consequences, Sesshoumaru knew, he had to force himself to choose the best option available.

Moving her hands on Rin's flat stomach, Sesshoumaru stared wistfully at the life she knew existed inside.

"You can hate your father" said Sesshoumaru quietly with his trembling voice. "I'm sorry this Sesshoumaru, my son..."

In a quiet room, hugging his sleepy kisak and the child in his womb, Sesshoumaru apologized for the second time in his long life. He first apologized in his life to Rin who had been injured in the southern land last spring, and now— he said sorry to their son who could not be had.

Excuse me.

Sorry for not choosing you, sorry for having to sacrifice you, sorry for not being able to keep you, and sorry, for not being able to protect you.
