Chapter 23

"I just want to go home..."

The words Shura said behind the shoji door of her closed room, kept on being excited in Shiro's head. His feet moved quickly looking for Akihiko. Anger filled him. Behind him, Mamoru, Aya and Maya run after him, trying to stop the hanyou. However, those who are humans are indeed impossible to catch up with him who is a hanyou.

Sucking through the air and searching for the aura of the Southern Land Ruler, despite being inside a palace filled with youkai, Shiro had no great difficulty in finding it. He managed to find it in the garden of the southern earthen palace that was filled with sakura trees. The Southern Land Ruler was sitting while leaning on the branch of the cherry tree staring at the blue sky above.

"Hey! Fucking wolf!" shouts Shiro full of anger.

Akihiko did not care about Shiro, his eyes still staring at the blue sky above, as well as his unchanging facial expression. He knew, that hanyou must have come because of dissatisfaction towards his attitude towards Shura.

"Hey! I'm talking to you!" shouts Shiro again as he walks in front of the Southern Land Ruler. His golden eyes stared intently at Akihiko. There was not the slightest fear on his face.

"What do you want, hanyou?" akihiko asked then with a plan full of laziness. His head then looked at Shiro.

"Let Shura go home."

"Not going to." Reply Akihiko slowly.

Not caring for Akihiko, Shiro immediately gripped onto Akihiko's haori collar. "Let him go home! Who do you think you are!? You have no right to keep him here!"

Akihiko's eyes instantly turned blood red. Shiro's attitude has really been delayed. Anger filled her heart, she was going to give a lesson to the brash hanyou in front of her now. He was unable to tolerate the brashness of his attitude anymore.

Seeing Akihiko's anger, Shiro immediately let go of his hand and jumped back. However, there remained no fear on his face, he still stared intently at that Southern Land Ruler. He knew, the youkai that was in front of him would attack. Immediately he put up the horses ready to fight.

"Shiro! Stop that!" yelled Aya and Maya together all of a sudden.

The two twin brothers who had just been in their place were unable to hide their panic anymore. Shiro could not possibly defeat Akihiko, and seeing the anger of the youkai now, they knew, only that he was in trouble. While Mamoru who also just arrived with his two brothers did not say anything. He just kept staring at what was happening.

Shiro was not concerned about Aya and Maya's screams, he stared intently at Akihiko, "You said Shura can only go home if she defeats you, right?" ask him suddenly. "Then let me fight you, you son of a bitch!"

"Add me guys, Shiro," Mamoru interrupted suddenly, making everyone there look at him. Slowly the young taijiya walked up to Shiro, took out a few sheets of spell paper hidden on the back of his kimono and put the horses ready to fight. "I'm coming for you, Akihiko-sama. For Shura's freedom." Said seriously.

Shiro, Aya and Maya are very surprised to hear the word Mamoru. Never the slightest thought by them that, Mamoru who had always been ignorant and did not want to interfere would say that.

"Mamoru! You're crazy, aren't you?!" aya shouted confusion mixed with panic.

"Mamoru Horror!" scream Maya.

Mamoru turned her head to her two brothers and gave a small smile. "Sister Aya, sister Maya, who Shura really is, we all know. Ever since he was born, he has been part of our extended family indirectly. And as low as I am, I can't let any of my family members get caught up in trouble."

The eyes of Aya and Maya were completely wide-eyed upon hearing Mamoru's explanation. They spoke a thousand languages, not knowing what to say. With a smile still on his face, Mamoru then looked at Akihiko. "You don't mind if you add one person, do you, Akihiko-sama?"

The anger that filled Akihiko's heart disappeared. Confusion took hold of his heart seeing Shiro and Mamoru's attitude. He did not understand the attitude of hanyou and the human in front of him. But he put all that aside. He couldn't let them continue to behave.

Shocked, Shiro, Mamoru, Aya and Maya immediately turned their heads to the source of the sound. Not far from them, Shura stood up with the help of Sakura and Tsubasa stared at them all. His facial expression was still flat as usual. When he heard the screams of Aya, Maya and Mamoru calling Shiro's name in his room, he knew something was wrong, and it turned out that his premonition was indeed proven true.

"My problem is that I'm going to solve it myself, not you. So, back off." Further again.

Shura's words made Shiro catch his breath. Regret filled him. His face could not resist the aggravation he felt anymore. Moving her legs, she approached the inuyoukai. His hand immediately raised upwards. Not caring about the wounds present, he directly hit Shura's head firmly. "Don't rule me, you fool!" his yell.

"Sister! What are you doing?!" sakura shouted in surprise.

Shura who was hit suddenly immediately stared intently at Shiro. His golden eyes instantly turned blood red with anger. However, he had not had time to say anything, Shiro's two hands suddenly formed both shoulders of Inuyoukai and stuck their foreheads together. "When I was a kid, I promised to protect you. That's why, I decided to help you yesterday.."

Shura looked at Shiro confusedly, his anger immediately turning into confusion.

"However, it turns out I was wrong for that. Not a promise or anything, it has become an obligation for me to look after, protect and help you. You're Sesshoumaru's uncle's son. The blood flowing in your veins is also flowing in my veins. You're my cousin, my family.."

Shura's eyes immediately widened, unable to believe what she was hearing now, and it made Shiro smile. He moved his forehead away, then, his left hand moved ruffling Shura's hair. In his heart, he was very happy, happy and satisfied. The question in his heart was answered. From the first time he met Shura, he did not like her, because the inuyoukai was always acting as if Sakura, his sister was his. But, when he saw with his own eyes what the inuyoukai was going through, his heart felt sick, sad and unbearable. Shura was still very small, not even ten years old. In this unfamiliar place, he could not rely on anyone. However, not for now, because now that he has been here—the family is there to help each other, the family is there to support each other.

"The first rule in a family. The older ones keep the younger ones. I have to take care of you, my family, my sister.."

Shiro's words completely rendered Shura speechless in a thousand languages. His golden eyes grew increasingly. Not caring about it, it just raised its hand tightly hugging itself.

Sakura who was at the side did not clearly understand what was happening, but, this was the first time Shiro had behaved like that towards Shura. And, isn't this what he expected? The two people who meant so much to him made peace, did not clash their mouths and quarreled again. Not wasting any time, he laughed and raised his hand to hug Shura.

"Hey, don't forget me" Mamoru said suddenly. He also opened his arms to embrace the three of them. "I am the biggest among you. Protecting all of you should be my duty," he laughed. His eyes were then directed at Aya and Maya. "Sister Aya, sister Maya, come here. You don't want to miss our first big family hug, do you?"

Aya and Maya are stunned to hear Mamoru's invitation. But look at what is happening in front of him. Maya suddenly laughed. Who would have thought that his younger sibling could say that, and most importantly, how could he refuse such a righteous invitation. Turning his head to look at his twin brother who was now also laughing and believed to also think the same, they both ran closer to the four members of their family, they both ran, open your hands wide and participate in the hugging scene.

Laughs.

They all laughed broadly hugging the bewildered Shura and did not know what to do. Shura understood nothing. Those he had just known did not long hug him tightly. Their smell can be strongly smelled. The smell of Hanyou and the humans enveloped him. However, not knowing why, he did not find the strength to free himself from the embrace, and he knew, it was not because of the wounds all over his body.

Not understanding why, both of Shura's hands moved by themselves, it was unstoppable. The hand moved to hug Shiro who was closest to him. Buried his face on the chest of the field in front of him.

Families.

The family? In life. He never considered anyone his family other than his Father and Mother. But he asked himself, why does that sound so true? Why is all their embrace now so warm? Why is his heart beating so fast? Why does her heart feel so warm? Why did she feel her tears as if they wanted to fall from her eyes? Wh why?

"You're not alone anymore, Shura. We're right here. Your family will always be there for you.." Whisper Shiro slowly.
