Till The End Of Time [Inuyasha Fanfiction ]
Chapter 50's

Inuyasha sat quietly not knowing what to do. Folding both hands on the chest, his golden eyes looked at the soldiers outside the window who were preparing their war attributes. Their faces looked full of determination and fury, perhaps war was indeed inevitable.

"Is this war really inevitable?" asked Kagome who sat beside Inuyasha quietly. His eyes looked down at Shiro who was in his arms, he did not like the slightest war, because aka tone how many people would lose their loved ones?

"Curtain," said Inuyasha. "This is what the son of a bitch wanted for a long time."

"You're wrong and Kagome is right, Inuyasha," Kenji suddenly startled Inuyasha and Kagome from behind them. "This war is inevitable."

"Don't show up suddenly behind me, goddamn it!" inuyasha shouted as he stood up, his hands ready to pull out Tensaiga.

"Inuyasha," call Kagome slowly. "Osuvari."

Inuyasha instantly fell down under heavy gravity. "Kagome! What the fuck, you?! " protest.

Kagome paid no heed to her husband's protests, her eyes staring straight at the monkey youkai in front of her. He could feel it, in this palace right now, other than them, maybe be the only one who didn't want this war to happen.

"You know both Inukimi-sama and Big Brother, don't you, Kenji-san?" ask Kagome. "You don't try to persuade them to stop all this."

Kenji sighed hearing Kagome's words. "There's no way I can stop this war. The only person who can stop this war is no longer here."

"The one who can stop this war?" inuyasha asked, surprised. "Who is that?"

Inuyasha's question made Kagome sigh. These few days within this Western Land Palace, wasn't her husband aware of something so obvious? "Of course the max is R—"

"Rin-chan." cut someone off slowly.

Inuyasha, Kagome and Kenji turned their heads to look at the source of the sound and found Miroku, Sango and Kohaku standing staring at them. "Only Rin-chan can stop this war. Right, right?" miroku asked with a smile.

Kenji nodded his head. The only one who can stop this war is a human girl. Once revered and loved throughout the western lands, all western youkai would be willing to hear his commands if he asked, not least Sesshoumaru. Unfortunately, she was not here, and more ironically, the fury of this western land besides being caused by the southern land that declared war, was also caused because the human girl had been kidnapped south.

"Therefore," continued Miroku with a smile that was still on his face and walked up to the three people in front of him. "Doesn't this remind you of our youth, Inuyasha, Kagome?"

"Huh?" Inuyasha and Kagome stared at the bewildered Miroku.

"Let's go to the Southern Land and save Rin." Sango. "As we used to when we were herding together looking for Shinkon No Tama."

"Ehhh?" inuyasha and Kagome.

"Too long live in peace, you've forgotten our past, huh?" Miroku closed his eyes and shook his head. "As before, let's go save, Rin. Take him home and he'll stop the war."

"It's not that easy" Kenji said firmly. "Entering the Southern Land isn't as easy as you think."

"Yes, it won't be easy" Inuyasha agreed and stood up. A big smile adorned his face. Looking at his wife, he saw a glimmer of smile on that beautiful face. "But, it won't be as hard as we beat Naraku."

....xox....

Sesshoumaru stood staring at the flower garden in front of him. As far as the eye could see, there was only snow white. Closing his eyes, he felt a feeling of—an unpleasant feeling in his heart. She should not have stood still in this place alone, it should have been beside her now, there was a human girl who was idling tightly with her fingers, giving her such pleasant warmth. Then, when he opened his eyes, what he should have seen was a spring smile so warmly fixed on him.

But now all that is gone. He could not say anything and could not also shake the feeling of losing her. Never did he expect that the existence of the human girl was now so important to him.

"Sesshoumaru." Call Inukimi quietly from behind.

Sesshoumaru did not turn his back on his mother. He slowly opened his eyes, "What do you want Mother?"

Inukimi stepped foot closer to Sesshoumaru and stood right beside him. His golden eyes stared straight at the white snow in front. "What are you thinking about Sesshoumaru?"

Sesshoumaru silently nodded.

"War in plain sight or little Rin?" ask Inukimi again.

Sesshoumaru remained silent.

Inukimi knew, Sesshoumaru would not answer, therefore he turned his back and walked away. However, only a few steps did he step in Sesshoumaru's voice stopping him. "Aren't you afraid I'll end up like Ayahanda?"

"You guys are different, Sesshoumaru," Inukimi replied softly and raised her head looking up at the sky above. "You are you, Taisho is Taisho, Izayoi is Izayoi, Rin is Rin."

Inukimi's reply again made Sesshoumaru silent. Inukimi said nothing more, she walked away leaving her son alone.

Taisho and Izayoi.

Sesshoumaru and Rin.

Youkai who love humans and humans who love youkai. Two races so different, one strong and one weak, could they be together until the end? Can they be happy? Was his father happy after marrying Izayoi? Is Izayoi happy in his life? Their story ended so pitifully.

Sesshoumaru-sama

Rin's smile and laughter flashed through Sesshoumaru's mind, making the western Land Ruler feel both warmth and bitterness. He could remember clearly, the tears as well as the sad face of Izayoi who had his father left behind. And she could not imagine those tears and sadness on Rin's face.

Loving humans, losing her domain and honor as a Youkai, and dying for Izayoi, Taisho dares to do so. Now Sesshoumaru asked himself, how dare he? Is he going to do it all for Rin?

Love is a human feeling. Love is a useless feeling. Love will make you weak and perish; love is weakness.

The teaching that was always taught to him came to pass. Feelings of uselessness. Maybe he should have stopped it all, stopped loving Rin who was a human. Sesshoumaru closed his eyes and imagined, how will his life continue without Rin? How would he live if he had never met Rin?—He would still be Sesshoumaru, the ruler of the western lands that everyone feared. The West will still succeed, nothing will change, what changes may be that he cannot see the smile of spring. Will not be able to feel the warmth as well as smell the fragrant body of the girl—she will just never know how to feel loved and loved.

Can he accept that? Answer; no. How could he accept that after he knew how beautiful that spring smile was? So fragrant was the smell of the eternal spring, and so warm was the touch and embrace of the girl. The first time, he admitted in his heart, how different his life was after Rin existed. Smiles and laughter were present, singing was created, colors were painted. His world was no longer a colorless world where there were only the sounds of shouting and crying, a world where the clanking of weapons and red blood flowed.

The human girl he saved back then, had changed his world. Would he go back to that colourless, cold world again? A foolish question; no one will return to a cold world after knowing the warmth of the world. Therefore, forgetting or continuing life without the girl? How could he do that?

Sesshoumaru knew, he would no longer be able to. Ironic right? Even for now, when the war was in sight, he thought more about the girl's safety than her victory or defeat. Her feelings of not wanting to follow her thoughts anymore, is this loving that? More important than his pride, more than his honor, strength and power, more than his own life - is that the meaning of someone you love?

The pride of not wanting to admit, the selfishness of wanting to have, the naughtiness of loving, the happiness of being loved. Mixed feelings without being separated. Very complicated and torturous, but at the same time very honest and true. Is this how youkai love a human being?

Raising his head to look at the sky above, Sesshoumaru opened his eyes, "Is this how you feel? Is this how you love Izayoi?"

....xox....

The little foot stepped cheerfully following Tsubasa, a wide smile adorning her face and her brown eyes twinkling all around. "The Southern Land Palace is not much different from the Western Land Palace, huh, Tsubasa-sama?"

Tsubasa did not answer or look back at the human girl behind him. He didn't understand, really didn't understand; didn't he fear the girl? Why was he still smiling cheerfully in his current state?

"And Rin almost forgot" Rin laughed. Running small forward, he likened his footsteps to the youkai of the bird. "Thank you for letting Rin borrow your shirt. Tsubasa. Rin is so grateful."

Tsubasa did not answer. He lends her his winter Kimono due to orders from Akihiko. And also, he couldn't possibly let the human girl die from the cold in the south, right? He didn't kidnap her to let her die from the cold.

"Aah!" rin shouted suddenly and ran away from Tsubasa, "Akihiko-sama!"

Looking ahead, Tsubasa saw the Southern Land Ruler standing still in the garden staring at the blue sky above. The southern land lord's concubine said nothing, but her footsteps followed Rin towards Akihiko.

Akihiko lowered his head looking at Rin who was running towards him. Looking at the human girl's smile, he did not say anything, yet he clearly observed her appearance that had changed. With the sky blue Kimono— the southern color, inevitably, there was a feeling of satisfaction in his heart. The girl is more suited to her southern blue color, rather than the western red.

"Are you going to practice the sword again, Akihiko-sama?" rin asked expectantly when he arrived in front of Akihiko. "Can Rin watch it? Rin won't bother."

Akihiko remained silent looking at Rin who was smiling sweetly. Seeing that smile, he recalled again with the rumors circulating, about how beautiful Hime's smile from the west was. Perhaps the rumor was indeed not wrong, the beauty of the human girl in front of him was indeed very rare.

"Akihiko-sama," greeted Tsubasa as she lowered her head while paying her respects.

"All our preparations are done, right?" akihiko asked and turned her head to look at the sky again. His eyes glared at the thought of the war that was about to take place. "Not until there is a mistake and something is no longer needed."

"Hamba understands," replied Tsubasa quickly. "Hamba won't do anything wrong again."

Tsubasa did not dare to say much. Inevitably he felt a little scared and stupid, why did he kidnap Rin. Hime's plan to abduct the West is an unexpected plan that he did spontaneously. He attends Sesshoumaru's birthday party not to kidnap, but to investigate western powers and allies. It's just that, when he saw the way to look at the Lord of the West when Rin presented his dance, Tsubasa felt that the famous Seshoumaru from the West without gaps and weaknesses considered the importance of his pet human girl. The girl might be useful to the south later. And perhaps also, this human girl was the weakness of Sesshoumaru.

Tsubasa's reply made Akihiko grunt slowly. That human girl is important to Sesshoumaru? Akihiko wants to laugh. Sesshoumaru letting the human girl aside was just one showing everyone that the west had a rare beauty. Just to brag about the West. He knew Sesshoumaru since childhood, his hatred towards humans and his pride—this human girl could not possibly be his weakness.

"Akihiko-sama," called Rin again who felt that the Southern Land Ruler did not care. "Rin asked once again, may Rin watch Akihiko-sama while practicing the sword again?"

Rin's question made Akihiko lower her head. He remained silent, yet his eyes looked at the girl.

The look in Akihiko's eyes made Rin smile, she knew clearly the purpose of those eyes. The ruler of the Southern Land was asking him; why?

Laughing loosely, Rin raised her right hand up and turned around, mimicking one of Akihiko's small movements of swordsmanship. "Because you look so beautiful."

Akihiko tekjut heard Rin's words. However, a second later, his shock turned into stunned. Raising his hands, turning and moving his body, the human girl in front of him moved in imitation of Akihiko's sword practice movements slowly. The wind that blew flying Rin's moving hair, bringing the must smell of spring to Akihiko's nose, the sound of laughter like the clink of a bell caught his ear, then the beauty of the human girl's smile seized his sight.

Rin's movements made Tsubasa stunned, but for a moment he soon regained his senses and turned his head to look at Akihiko. There was an uneasy feeling popping up in his heart when he saw Akihiko's gaze directed at Rin. As with everything inside Sesshoumaru's birthday party, every move of the human girl can hypnotize anyone who sees her.

Rin continued to move in imitation of Akihiko's sword practice movements inside her head, raising her head to look at the blue sky above and smiling. Sesshoumru's face was reflected in his mind. Akihiko's sword moves inspired him to a dance. If he could complete it while here, then, on returning to the West, he could show it to Sesshoumaru. Ssshoumaru's view when seeing his dance, as well as his praise—Rin can't wait to be together again.
