Chapter 75's

"–what are you going to do now?"

Inuyasha's question made Sesshoumaru open his eyes. However, the inuyoukai did not show the slightest expression on his face.

"Rin–he really loves you very much" Inuyasha continued. He then gripped. "Currently, even I can see it. Don't you think you should give him an answer?"

Sesshoumaru silently nodded. However, he clearly heard every single Inuyasha remark, and Inuyasha knew that.

"The wolf was serious and dared to give everything to Rin. Aren't you? Isn't Rin's presence in your heart important enough?"

Inuyasha knows. In fact, more than anyone, he knew very well what Rin meant to Sesshoumaru, only that he never said it. Sesshoumaru was his half-brother, and he had known him for a long time.

The powerful Sesshoumaru, the feared and respected Sesshoumaru of many, the proud Sesshoumaru, as well as, the Sesshoumaru who was the rightful heir to the western land–Little Inuyasha first learned of the inuyoukai's existence, the, in the depths of the heart is actually always waiting and want to know him more deeply. The Inuyoukai was the only family he had other than Izayoi, his birth mother.

Little Inuyasha often sees an older brother guarding and protecting his younger sister in the human palace where he grew up. Will her brother do the same to her? Inviting him to play, teaching him to write and read, teaching him to swing his sword– with him.

But reality says something else. When they first met, Inuyasha could see clearly, the older brother he thought was different. This Inuyoukai does not like him, nor does his birth mother.

All because–man.

Because her mother was a human being, and because in her veins flowed human blood. No matter what Inuyasha did, Sesshoumaru never admitted it. When his mother died, when he was expelled from his residence and when he was injured, the inuyoukai still did not care about him. To Sesshoumaru, she was not his sister, not a family.

Sesshoumaru who hates humans, Seshoumaru who is heartless and selfless–no one knows, how surprised Inuyasha was when he first saw little Rin with his half-brother.

Little Rin, who had always been next to Sesshoumaru, was protected and guarded, given shelter and raised well. Inuyasha once asked in his heart, why can Sesshoumaru behave like that to little Rin? And–why didn't Sesshoumaru behave like that to her as a child? Why would Sesshoumaru prefer a human being who has nothing to do with him over him, his half-brother?

Many say that Sesshoumaru raised Rin because she has a step beauty, because the girl is proof of her ability to turn on the dead. However, Inuyasha knew, that was not true. The pair of golden eyes that were staring at the human girl was always soft–quite similar to the eye gaze that used to be expected to be fixed on her as a child.

The gaze that though different, but similar to the gaze when her biological mother looked at her–gaze of affection towards something that was very important to her. Then, the bigger Rin is, the more Inuyasha can see clearly that eye's gaze–that's the same eye gaze Kagome saw.

Not knowing how, Rin manages to enter Sesshoumaru's heart, destroying the sturdy wall surrounding him–something no one including himself–his family can do. The human girl made the inuyoukai human haters understand the meaning of the word–love.

Rin is a very important existence for Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha never doubted that one bit. However, the inuyoukai it took a long time to realize and admit it–for this, Inuyasha realized the first time, it turns out that the two of them are quite similar. Like that too, right, himself to Kagome first? Could this be a derivative of their father?–dia as a child never knew the story of the togetherness of both parents.

Grinding her forehead, Inuyasha immediately realized, why did he think of such useless things?–his goal now was not at all reminiscing about the past.

Sesshoumaru remained silent. But he could clearly digest every single Inuyasha remark. But he still doesn't know what to do.

Inuyasha's question was stirred in Sesshoumaru's mind. Is he not? Can't she give everything Akihiko has to offer Rin?–dia can.

Beyond anything, Sesshoumaru wanted to give his all to the human girl. West Kiseki, position as his legal partner, position as mother of his son, love–even his life. Yet..

Forever together.

That was what the human girl wanted the most. Sesshoumaru can give everything to Rin, except that. The consequences of those two words, how frightening the future that existed for them–for Rin.

Human time passes quickly, but not with him the youkai. The girl will never feel her life as a true human being, because, she will never feel how to age with her life partner. Will Rin be happy? What will Rin feel like, when her skin starts to wrinkle and her hair turns white, but she, Sesshoumaru remains as they were when they met?– is broken, sad and regretful.

Forever, what Sesshoumaru wanted most for Rin was happiness. He wanted every second that the human girl passed to death to pick her up was a smile and a laugh.

Inuyasha continued to stare at Sesshoumaru, and the first time, he was able to capture the emotions within the golden eyes that were identical to him. The Inuhanyou did not say anything more. Silently silent, he waited for whether his half-brother would give an answer to his question.

Silence filled them. Inuyasha was finally upset. It seemed that the inuyoukai was indeed not going to answer his question. Rising to his feet, he immediately held Kagome on his back and stepped away.

Sesshoumaru did not stop Inuyasha, his gaze then fell on the figure of Kagome who was on his back. Looking at the two of them, the first time he also realized, the consequences of togetherness–did Inuyasha never think about his future and the miko?

The stupid Inuyasha would never know, and even if he knew it, he would not think about it. However, Sesshoumaru also could not stop himself from asking.

"Inuyasha." call Sesshoumaru flat.

Inuyasha turned his head to look at Sesshoumaru behind him in surprise. "What?"

Staring at Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru's golden eyes were still directed at Kagome's figure. "Why do you want to marry that miko?"

Sesshoumaru's question was clearly not predicted Inuyasha. Reversing his body, he looked at the inuyoukai it was annoyed. "What do you mean, you son of a bitch!! You insulted Kagome, didn't you??"

Sesshoumaru paid no heed to Inuyasha's annoyance. His eyes were staring at Kagome and then raised to the face of his half-brother. "He is human and you are hanyou. He'll age and die sooner than you, don't you know?"

Sesshoumaru's question once again made Inuyasha surprised. But, that feeling of surprise immediately returned to being vexed. "Of course I know, you son of a bitch."

"Have you never thought about her feelings in the future? Feelings of sadness and destruction when you see your differences– regrets that may be born.."

Inuyasha fell silent at Sesshoumaru's question. The regret on his face disappeared, the inuyoukai was serious about his question.

"Cih," clucked in annoyance again. Inuyasha then closed his eyes. "Of course I thought about Kagome's feelings," opening her eyes again, she looked at Sesshoumaru. "That's why I married her."

Inuyasha's reply made Sesshoumaru confused. Silently, he tried to find an explanation.

Inuyasha could clearly see the confusion of Sesshoumaru. Sighing, he then turned his eyes staring at the sleeping face of Kagome that was on his shoulders. "Do you know how Kagome feels? For the sake of being with my hanyou self, she was willing to leave everything precious to her, and she said it was because she loved me–she was happy with me."

"Man, hanyou or youkai, dead or alive, aging or not–I don't care about that!" inuyasha added again, his voice rising and his two golden eyes were staring at Kagome full of confidence. "Sadness, sadness or regret in the future will not happen in our relationship, because he is now happy, as well as in the future. With my own strength, I will maintain that happiness until the end of his life. Nothing is more important than happiness."

Looking back at the silent Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha smiled as if mocking the inuyoukai. "This relationship will not be our regret. That regret will only exist if I don't dare to accept his hand.– don't share his real regret."

Sesshoumaru was stunned with all Inuyasha's answers. This answer is really a stupid answer without thinking about the logic, possibilities and also the reality. However, for the first time in his life, he did not hate that stupidity.

"Don't you probably think I can just say this now, and when Kagome's gone, I'll know what regret means, right?" inuyasha asked while clucking again. "Let you know, Sesshoumaru, I'm strong enough to face it allI'll never regret loving and marrying her!"

The regrets of Inuyasha and Kagome, the regrets of Sesshoumaru and Rin, aging and death, togetherness, then–happiness.

Sesshoumaru realized now, he was too smart, which is why he never knew what to do. He thought too much about things, therefore he could not step up. For the love in his heart, forever with the spoken–he should be a fool like Inuyasha.

What is the future without Rin? Sesshoumaru was sure, he would be strong enough to deal with it. He's strong not for no reason, is he? Then, more than anyone, he was sure, he could give the human girl happiness until the end of life.There is nothing more important to her than Rin's happiness,

"Hey! Sesshoumaru!!" call Inuyasha annoyed at feeling that Sesshoumaru is not concerned about.

"Inuyasha," called Sesshoumaru replying abruptly to Inuyasha's call. "Sesshoumaru understands now."

"Eh??" inuyasha exclaimed in confusion with Sesshoumaru's words. However, he had not had the chance to say anything more, the inuyoukai had run away quickly leaving him.

"What the fuck!!??" the cries of Inuyasha filled the sakura gardens of the southern land palace.

Akihiko punched a powerful work desk that was in his bedroom. The table was instantly destroyed, the files of documents that were there fell scattered on the floor. His two sky blue eyes now glowed red with anger, his lips raised revealing his sharp fang teeth.

An overwhelming anger filled his heart. Rin did not give him an answer. The girl did not say a word as she drove him back to the room.

The reason the human gads were only one; sesshoumaru. How much he hated and wanted to kill the dog now, Akihiko could only try hard to control the anger in his heart that was growing.

"Sesshoumaru.." murmured Akihiko softly as she gritted her teeth. He hates the dog, if the dog does not exist, then Rin will never hesitate to accept it.

Outside the southern land lord's bedroom, Tsubasa stood silently staring at the closed door. He could feel the overwhelming anger of the room owner inside, and his ears could also catch the name being muttered.

There is satisfaction in Tsubasa's heart now. How much he wanted to laugh when he saw the human girl reject Akihiko so quickly, how happy he was when he saw the love of the southern land lord was rejected.

However, there was no denying it as well, there was pain in Tsubasa's heart. Akihiko still has not given up, the ruler of this southern land still thinks he can win the human girl's heart.

Tsubasa will not let him, he will not let the human girl belong to Akihiko. That's why he was looking for Sesshoumaru, he knew, that inuyoukai would definitely do something to thwart any plan of the ruler of the southern land.

Akihiko will never have that human girl, just as he can't have Akihiko. Forever, he will ensure that no one, neither man nor youkai, has the heart of the ruler of the southern land.

Lying on a futon, Rin who was wearing a white sleeping kimono was unable to sleep at all even though she closed her eyes.

Every word of Akihiko was still stirred in his head, and Rin could only sigh in despair. South Kisaki and love–why did the ruler of the southern land want to give it to her?–she did not understand.

But Rin won't be able to accept it. All he loved was Sesshoumaru, and although the inuyoukai would never love him, he did not mind either. He was happy to be by his side.

"Ri."

The sound of flat and heavy calling his name sounded. Opening his eyes, Rin immediately rose from his sleeping position. Gazing towards the door of the shoji room, he could see the silhouette of the figure of the youkai he loved.

Surprised, Rin immediately got up and ran towards the door. A feeling of confusion instantly filled his heart, he knew what he was seeing now was not his delusion, what was Sesshoumaru looking for on these nights?

Opening the shoji door, Rin's brown eyes reveal Sesshoumaru standing in the garden in front of his bedroom all by himself.

"Sesshoumaru-sama.." call Rin slowly. Stepping closer to her, she did not care for the slightest bit of her bare feet touching the ground, nor did the sleeping kimono she was wearing. His two brown eyes only stared fixedly at Sesshoumaru.

In the moonlight, Rin could see clearly, the long silver hair that the night wind was flying, her handsome face, then her golden eyes.

Just as Rin was staring at Sesshoumaru, Sesshoumaru was also staring back at Rin. The human girl stood up with all her simplicity, and yet, she was more beautiful and radiant than the moon above the night sky.

There's a lot Sesshoumaru wants to tell Rin. However, looking at the girl now, he did not know where to start.

"Sesshoumaru-sama, what is it?" ask Rin. Standing right in front of Sesshoumaru, he looked into his golden eyes looking for answers.

"Rin," call Sesshoumaru again slowly. Not allowing the slightest glance, his golden eyes looked straight at the human girl in front of him. "How long can you love me?"

Sesshoumaru's question took Rin by surprise. He did not understand why the inuyoukai was asking him like this. However, a moment later, the feeling of surprise disappeared.

How-how long? His whole life?–no! In this life, Rin meets Sesshoumaru and loves him. In this life, too, he knew that his love was the most beautiful and happy thing he had ever felt. Therefore, for the next and next life–she wants to always love him.

How long can he love Sesshoumaru? Rin could not hide the warm and happy feeling that suddenly filled her heart. Slowly, both of her brown eyes sparkled beautifully, the tip of her lips raised, forming a smile–her most beautiful smile.

"forever. No matter my breath has stopped, no matter my body has gone, as long as my soul is still there—no. Even if my soul is gone, my love for you will never change. I will always love you, until the end of time."

Rin did not mention his name, he used 'me' for the first time in this answer, as proof of his seriousness.

Love until the end of time.This is his love.

Both of Sesshoumaru's hands were raised, with all the strength and also the gentleness he had, he hugged Rin. His heart was beating fast, so fast he felt as if he wanted to explode. Happiness filled his heart. Love Rin–how happy she is with Rin's answer.

"Rin," call Sesshoumaru again slowly. The two hands that hugged Rin grew tighter and tighter.  "Deceased. Stay beside this Sesshoumaru for as long as you can, and love this Sesshoumaru until the end of time."

Rin's eyes widened, this hug and also Sesshoumaru's speech. Her body trembled in disbelief, was she a dream?–but, this hug was so warm and real.

Turning away for a moment, without letting go of the hands on Rin's waist, Sesshoumaru looked back at Rin's face. His two golden eyes softened looking at the girl's facial expression.

His two brown eyes were wide-eyed holding back the tears that had been dripping down. His cheeks met red like red roses, his mouth opened, but no sound came out. However, Sesshoumaru liked it.

Sesshoumaru's right hand slowly rose upwards touching Rin's soft cheek. Ducking down, her lips then gently kissed and wiped away the tears. "Don't cry anymore, Rin."

Rin's tears immediately stopped, but his mind was still unable to digest what had happened. His two brown eyes were still wide-eyed at Sesshoumaru as the lips moved away from his cheeks.

The golden eyes that were staring at Rin softened even more, and once again, in the silent night of the quiet garden, Sesshoumaru re-captured the stumped body of the human girl. Slowly, the tip of his lips lifted, forming a smile on that handsome face.

Sesshoumaru knew now, what he should do, he would not hesitate anymore. The future and forever together. Just as Rin loved her until the end of time, she would do the same. For Rin, she will give everything, and she, Sesshoumaru will show it to the world.
