Chapter 80's

The morning had come, Sesshoumaru who was sitting beside Rin started to feel worried because the human girl was still unconscious. Looking at Kagome who was examining the girl, she opened her mouth for the first time this morning. "Why hasn't Rin realized yet?"

Kagome turned her head to look at Sesshoumaru and smiled. This question reminded him of the same question last year when the southwestern war was over. "He'll soon realize brother. No need to worry."

"Believe in Kagome, Sesshoumaru," interrupted Inuyasha while folding both hands on the chest. Pride filled his handsome face. "Kagome's ability is unmatched."

Kagome's face was met in red hearing Inuyasha's praise. It was not usual for her husband to praise her like that.

"Ughhh.." Rin's soft muttering voice suddenly sounded, making Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha and Kagome who were in the room immediately look at the human girl.

Slowly, Rin's eyes opened. But the morning made him close his eyes again.

"Rin-chan, are you awake?" ask Kagome quietly while looking at Rin.

Kagome's voice made Rin open her eyes again. His still unfocused gaze slowly came into focus, and the first he saw was the face of Sesshoumaru on the right side of his futon, as well as Inuyasha and Kagome on the left side.

"S-sesshoumaru-sama, Inuyasha-sama, Kagome-sama?" pangil Rin was slowly full of questions. He did not understand why the three of them could be in front of him.

Trying to get up from his lying position, Rin stared at the confused three of them. However, Sesshoumaru moved his hand and forced the girl to remain lying on the futon. "Don't move Rin."

Sesshoumaru's orders stunned Rin. Not saying anything, the girl immediately obeyed the inuyoukai, though her face was still full of confusion.

"How are you feeling now, Rin-chan?" ask Kagome.

"R-rin is fine, Kagome-sama" Rin replied quickly with a smile.

"You don't feel pain or anything like that, do you, Rin?" added Inuyasha quickly. "Tell us if anything's uncomfortable."

"Rin's fine, Inuyasha-sama." Rin shook his head again. He does not feel tiredness or uncomfortable feelings. Looking at the silent Sesshoumaru, he saw the golden eyes of the inuyoukai staring at him worriedly.

Unable to hold back the confusion in her heart anymore, Rin then decided to ask. "What happened Sesshoumaru-sama, Inuyasha-sama, Kagome-sama?"

Rin's question made everything there stunned. Grinding his forehead, Kagome asked again. "You don't remember what happened, Rin-chan?"

Kagome's question left Rin stunned. He tried hard to think about what happened. The pain suddenly struck his head. Raising both hands pressed his head firmly, he closed his eyes. He remembered a glimpse of hanami, his conversation with Akihiko, the shining seki meido, the two daiyoukai who fought, then-red blood.

Rin's reaction instantly caused panic to fill Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha and Kagome.

"Rin-chan, what's wrong?" ask Kagome quickly.

Rin did not answer Kagome's question. However, slowly, the headache that attacked him gradually healed.

"Rin." call Sessgoumaru. Although her voice was flat, Rin could hear the worry in it.

Opening his eyes slowly, Rin looked at Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha and Kagome. "R-rin is okay. It's just that Rin had a headache."

"Let me check on you, Rin-chan." Sela Kagome fast. Moving his hands, he again examined Rin who was still lying on the futon. However, once again, he did not find anything wrong with the human girl.

"What's the matter with Rin, Kagome?" inuyasha asked then while looking at the serious expression on Kagome's face.

Kagome doesn't care about Inuyasha's questions. He looked at Rin and sighed. "Maybe you're still traumatized by what happened, Rin-chan. Don't force yourself to remember something you can't remember."

Rin nodded his head. Looking at Sesshoumaru, a feeling of guilt filled his heart as he looked at those inuyoukai eyes that were still full of worry. A small smile reassured, Rin's hand moved squeezing the seki meido that was on his chest. "Rin it's okay Sesshou—"

"R-rin, can you touch that thing?" cut Inuyasha suddenly. His eyes widened and Rin could touch the miedo seki that no one, including Inukimi and Sesshoumaru, could touch.

"Eh?" rin's confusion turned his face to Inuyasha. He could clearly see the puzzled face of the inuanyou, as well as Kagome who was beside him.

"Rin, let go of meido seki." Sesshoumaru's order suddenly. Both of his eyes glowed dislike looking at the meido seki that Rin now held tightly.

Sesshoumaru's orders widen Rin's eyes. He turned his head back with a look of disbelief staring at that inuyoukai.

"Take off the meido seki, Rin." Sesshoumaru repeated once again. Stretching out his hand, he waited for the girl to let go and handed meido seki to him.

"W-why?" ask Rin. He could clearly see the seriousness on Sesshoumaru's face.

"Ri." Call Sesshoumaru. His tone grew even more burdensome sign he did not want the girl to go against his orders.

However, Rin did not release the meido seki. The human girl suddenly rose from her lying position. Sitting still, his hands shook and his heart beat fast.

Release meido seki? Sessgoumaru asked him to release the meido seki and hand it over. Rin knew he had to obey that order. But—no!

Rin does not know what happened, but deep down he knows he cannot let go of meido seki. If he releases meido seki then—

The time that stopped has returned to moving.

An overwhelming fear attacked Rin. His face paled quickly and his body trembled violently. "R-rin can't be Sesshoumaru-sama.."

Rin's attitude clearly makes Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha and Kagome worried. They could sense something was wrong on the human girl now.

"R-rin doesn't know.. B-but, Rin could not let go of meido seki.." repeated Rin again, his pale face grew pale. His two frightened brown eyes looked straight at Sesshoumaru.

Staring at Rin's terrified expression now, Sesshoumaru immediately grabbed the human girl, not caring for Inuyasha or Kagome. "Rin, relax."

Rin returned Sesshoumaru's embrace equally tightly and nodded his head. Slowly, the trembling in the tiny body then began to stop. His rapid heartbeat returned to normal.

Inuyasha and Kagome said nothing seeing Sesshoumaru and Rin. Then, when the western land lord inuyoukai let go of his embrace, they saw that the human girl had already returned to sleep quietly.

Laying Rin again on the futon, Sesshoumaru stared worriedly at the human girl. Kagome herself did not waste any time, quickly, she examined Rin.

"Rin-chan, it's okay. He's just asleep." Kagome said then and sighed. His eyes were on the meido seki on Rin's chest. "But, it looks like we can't separate the meido seki with him right now."

"Cih, what the hell is this meido seki!?" clucking does not like, Inuyasha also stared dislike meido seki who does not move at all.

Sesshoumaru did not say anything, but, his two eyes that looked down at Rin stared at meido seki. Anger filled his heart, but it was followed by helplessness. What really happened to Rin he did not know, but he was sure, the cause was meido seki. The fear on Rin's face just now was because of the heirloom of the youkai, and he couldn't do anything about it.

Inukimi sits on the roof of the southern earthen palace. His two golden eyes looked at the blue sky above. His face was flat and expressionless, but his mind was filled with questions about what he saw last night.

Feeling the aura of someone who was never foreign to him, Inukimi then opened her mouth without turning her head. "What's up, Sesshoumaru?"

The one now behind Inukimi was none other than Sesshoumaru. The ruler of the western land stood behind his biological mother with an equally flat face.

"Sesshoumaru wants to know all about meido seki." Sesshoumaru replied later. He did not move even a little in his place.

Sesshoumaru's reply made Inukimi speechless. Not lowering his head that was staring at the blue sky, the former lord of the western lands then closed his eyes. "There's nothing I can tell you about meido seki, Sesshoumaru."

Inukimi had heard the story of what happened to Rin and meido when he woke up this morning. However, he did not know what to do, everything was now moving beyond his expectations.

Sesshoumaru's question made Inukimi speechless. He clearly knew what his son meant. Meido seki is very dangerous for Rin now not because it will weaken the girl if she uses it, but; if the fact Rin can use meido seki spread throughout Japan.

The power of the meido seki that can animate those who die and control all elements–it is a power that is unmatched. He can destroy and create. How all youkai and greedy humans will want that power–how much the girl's life will be in danger.

Looking at Inukimi who did not answer, Sesshoumaru then turned around and walked away. Inukimi doesn't have the answer she wants, the only way to get an answer is probably to stay in the records of her family's relics in the western land palace.

However, just two steps Sesshoumaru took, Inukimi called him back. "Sesshoumaru."

Sesshoumaru stopped walking as soon as he heard Inukimi's call. However, he did not reply nor turned his back to look at the inuyoukai that gave birth to him.

"Don't wait any longer, give Rin your mark as soon as possible, she's your kisak."

In Rin's room, Akihiko knelt down and bowed down. His head bowed down not daring to look at Rin who was sitting on the futon. "I'm sorry, Rin."

The conscious Rin could not hide her shock at seeing Akihiko apologizing like that to her. "A-akihi–"

Rin's speech was not resolved because Inuyasha who was also in the room with Kagome suddenly stood up. Stepping closer to Akihiko, the innuanyou immediately gripped the collar of the shirt and lifted the ruler of the southern land upwards. His hands clenched firmly and punched a handsome face in front. "You think one word of apology is enough!!?" he screams with anger.

Akihiko did not avoid Inuyasha's fist, nor did he intend to break away. Silently silent, he let the fist shake his face.

"Inuyasha-sama! Stop that!!" shouted Rin. Standing up, he immediately ran over and caught Inuyasha's hand moving against Akihiko. "Rin is fine, stop Inuyasha-sama!"

However, Inuyasha did not stop, not caring for Rin who caught his hand, he continued to punch Akihiko until Kagome's voice stopped him. "Osuvari."

The gravitational pressure that pressed Inuyasha down made his grip on Akihiko's collar slip apart. Scattered on the tatami floor alone, the inuyoukai yelled in annoyance. "Kagome!!!!"

Kagome who was still sitting next to Rin's futon since earlier didn't care at all. He closed his eyes like a deaf man.

Rin immediately approached Akihiko, both hands raised touching the face of the ruler of the southern land. His brown eyes shone full of worry. "A-akihiko-sama, are you okay?" tanyakanya.

The question with worried eyes and fingers touching her face– made the guilt in Akihiko's heart grow bigger. What has he done?

Catching Rin's fingers, Akihiko again lowered her head down. He did not have the face to look at that beautiful face. "I'm sorry, Rin.."

Akihiko's apology leaves Rin stunned. He had heard what had really happened last night, and to be honest, he was quite shocked and confused. However, now, seeing the daiyoukai ruler of the southern lands apologizing like this, he found no strength to anger or hate him.

Smiling, Rin then chuckled. "It's okay, Akihiko-sama. Rin is absolutely fine, and what Akihiko-sama wants to do is not happening either. So, it's okay."

Rin's speech and laughter made Akihiko raise her head staring at the human girl stunned. This human girl was raised youkai. He clearly knew what it meant if he had the mark of a youkai on his body. What he did last night was something very low and unforgivable, but, this girl had so easily forgiven him.

"You forgive me, Rin? You don't hate me?" akihiko asked quietly while gulping.

Rin shook his head and smiled again. "You are Rin's precious friend, Akihiko-sama. Rin can't possibly hate you."

Rin's reply made Akihiko speechless. He doesn't know what else to say. Don't know this girl is stupid, innocent or naive. But, she was really very different her forgiving and warm heart.

"B-but," continued Rin then slightly stammered. His brown eyes looked at Akihiko hesitantly. "If Akihiko-sama still feels guilty, Akihiko-sama can break through it by promising Rin that he will not attack the west no matter what."

The fight between Sesshoumaru and Akihiko that he cannot remember clearly is still in Rin's mind. He did not want western and southern relations to deteriorate just because of this.

Rin's words inevitably made Akihiko laugh out loud. Rin has never changed, from the beginning to know this girl until now, which this girl hoped never changed, namely; peace.

Lowering Rin's hand on her face down, Akihiko smiled gently. "Yes, I promise Rin."

Akihiko's promise greeted Rin with a joyful laugh, and for the umpteenth time, the ruler of the southern lands could only think; it would be great if this girl was his. Having this girl forever, she would not need another one anymore.

Kagome saw Rin's smile and laughter with Akihiko inevitably smiling. He was grateful that the relations of the west and south had not changed despite what had happened. As long as the human girl existed, war would never break out again.

Kira and Kiri bowed respectfully as they saw Sesshoumaru walking closer to Rin's room door. Slowly, the two of them opened the door of the room and let their master in.

The first to see Sesshoumaru when he first set foot inside was Rin who was eating voraciously with Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku and Sango.

Rin immediately put down the chopsticks in his hand and stopped eating as soon as he saw Sesshoumaru. Smiling widely, he called out that inuyoukai name. "Sesshoumaru-sama."

Sesshoumaru did not return Rin's greeting. Approaching the human girl, he then knelt right in front of her. "You okay, Rin?"

Rin immediately shook his head with a big smile on his face. "Rin is fine, Sesshoumaru-sama. Rin is healthy."

Rin was completely healthy, as if she had never vomited blood and had fainted before. Kagome who was bullying him also felt quite strange, however, she really did not find anything wrong with the human girl's health.

Sesshoumaru nodded his head slowly hearing Rin's reply. She left this human girl to look for Inukimi shortly after Kagome who examined her said she was healthy after waking up a second time.

"Rin, finish your meal," said Sesshoumaru then who responded with a quick nod of Rin's head. "We'll go back west after you've finished eating."

"Eh!???"

"What!!??"

Sesshoumaru's words were greeted with exclamations and shouts of surprise from Rin, Kagome, Miroku and Sango. But not for Inuyasha. The Huanyou stood up and laughed full of happiness. "Good!! I agree with your plan, Sesshoumaru!!"

Inuyasha was overjoyed to hear of Sesshoumaru's plan. From the beginning he did not intend to come south, and seeing Akihiko's attitude towards Rin, he increasingly regretted their arrival.

"The sun will set in the east today. For the first time, Inuyasha agreed with Sesshoumaru without going through the debate." murmured Miroku in disbelief.

"B-but, Sesshoumaru-sama, hanami is still not finished." Clearly Rin was stammered, he did not know why Sesshoumaru suddenly wanted to return to the west. It would be very rude if they went home now, right?

"Rin." call Sesshoumaru flat. "We're home."

Rin said nothing more. Although his face clearly did not want to return to the west that quickly, he then nodded his head.

Seeing Rin nodding his head, Sesshoumaru felt a sense of relief. However, Kagome's voice suddenly sounded interjected. "Sister, I'm not letting Rin go west today."

Kagome's words made everyone in the room turn their faces at her. But the future doesn't care. "Rin is healthy. But, he still needs rest."

"What do you mean Kagome??" inuyasha shouted.

Sesshoumaru's eyes shone sharply staring at Kagome. What else is this miko planning? Of all the people that exist, this strange miko was one of the people she could not guess.

"Lusa. Rin can only go back to the west the day after." continued Kagome again with a smile no matter Inuyasha protest nor Sesshoumaru's sharp gaze.
