The Chapter 70

Inuyasha suddenly stood up straight, not caring for Kagome's head that was still leaning on his shoulders. The expression on his face that had been relaxed immediately turned serious.

Kagome who had wanted to protest with Inuyasha's attitude immediately abandoned his intentions. Staring at her husband's confusion, she could only ask, "What's Inuyasha?"

Inuyasha squinted his eyes, the serious expression on his face immediately turned into dislike. "The son of a bitch is near."

Indra as an inuanyou that Inuyasha possessed could make him feel an extremely frightening aura of youkai approaching the southern land palace with incredible speed.

"Oh" muttered Kagome and smiled broadly. He doesn't need Inuyasha explaining to him who the 'Fuck fucker' he mentioned is. "Son always moves fast."

"What's fast?" inuyasha protest while throwing his face away. Folding a hand on the chest a frown appeared on the face of his face. "But it looks like the son of a bitch is angry. The aura he emitted was terrifying."

Kagome laughed at Inuyasha's words. "Good! I would be angry if you were still calm as usual in this condition?"

Surprised, Inuyasha turned his head to look at Kagome in disbelief. "You're glad he's angry??"

Inuyasha did not believe what Kagome said. In fact, Sesshoumaru getting angry is the most undesirable thing for anyone, including himself. Who wants to serve this terrible power inuyoukai when angry?–is this wife crazy?

Kagome only sighed seeing Inuyasha's reaction. Do not know what the situation and conditions are now even though they have seen everything. The risk of the future can only grumble. "Basic is insensitive."

A female youkai stood in front of the gate of the southern land palace. His long red hair flew out in the wind, while his red eyes stared straight ahead. Calm and flat, his face expressionless as if no problem was approaching.

"Tsubasa-sama, all the soldiers are ready in his position." A youkai warrior from the southern land palace gave a report to the female youkai.

"Good," Tsubasa replied without turning her eyes away. "Don't move without my orders."

"understand." Youkai warriors immediately saluted and retreated back to his position within the southern land palace.

When Akihiko was absent, Tsubasa as the strongest concubine was the palace's guardian. Protecting the southern land palace until the ruler returns is his duty.

What's coming?–or rather, who's heading towards the southern land palace right now? Tsubasa clearly knows. This terrifying aura that felt and made the feathers stand was none other than the ruler of the western lands; sesshoumaru.

The arrival of Sesshoumaru to the south has been predicted, because, hime from the west is now in the south without his consent. Then, the arrival of the inuyoukai was also definitely not a friendly visit, one of the few, maybe the fire of war could be re-ignited.

Not far from Tsubasa, on the roof of the southern earthen palace, Inuyasha lowered the Kagome he had in his carriage beside Inukimi.

"Inukimi-san, you also came to watch the crowd?" kagome's laughter saw Inukimi sitting gracefully on the roof of the southern earthen palace.

Inukimi did not reply, but she smiled and nodded her head.

"What peace?? Isn't this a possible massacre!?" sidelines Inuyasha while folding his hands on his chest. Rin and Akihiko are not in the southern land palace right now, therefore, no one can stop Sesshoumaru if he goes berserk. Moreover, the inuanyou could also feel the aura of the twins from the west of Kiri and Kira.

Kagome did not care about Inuyasha, slowly, she sat down beside Inukimi. His eyes were also directed forward, towards the direction the powerful youkai aura felt.

"It won't be a massacre, Inuyasha," Miroku's voice suddenly sounded answering Inuyasha's question. "Aren't you here, too?"

Looking towards the source of the sound, Inuyasha's golden eyes saw Miroku and Sango walking up to them from behind.

"You tell me to stop, Sesshoumaru in case of a massacre?? Why don't you just do it yourself!?" hardik Inuyasha is full of anger.

Approaching Inuyasha, Miroku hooked his right arm on the shoulder of the inuanyou and smiled widely. "The only thing against Sesshoumaru is you, Inuyasha. We all know that, don't we, my wife?"

Sango did not care about Miroku's question. The Taijiya sat beside Kagome and sighed. "I hope Rin-chan won't be surprised to see Sesshoumaru is already here when she gets home."

Flying above the sky, Akihiko looked at Rin who was sitting in her hands. Her sky blue eyes could not be sidetracked from the figure of the human girl. Snow-white skin, hair as black as the night sky without stars, a pair of big clear eyeballs and red cheeks crisp like flower petals–he really captivates anyone who sees it. But the most alluring of the face was probably his lips–a rose-red lips that were now curling painted a smile.

"You smile, Rin." said Akihiko slowly. Her handsome face could not hide the fluffy smile.

Rin turned his head to look at Akihiko and nodded his head slowly. Yes, he can smile now. The fear in his heart had already disappeared, as well as the confusion that was beginning to get an answer. However, most importantly, he had already gained the courage–the courage to love Sesshoumaru.

Fear in the heart because selfishness and greed want to have. The pain and sadness of love are unrequited.

Rin realized, that's what made her lose her smile. He rejected all those feelings, lying by saying he wasn't like that in every breath he took. That's why he's ruined–that's the cause of being in the abyss of despair.

Such feelings are very bad, but–that is his love. Something that grows strong and clings to itself unnoticed.

The little boy Rin met in the human city woke her up. Why is it that during the war of the south west he continued to advance without fear to stop the war? Why did his choice remain unchanged even though he knew, many people would be sad and angry because of what he did? Despite being branded a traitor and hated, why would he still bring them to life?

–because there's a dear youkai dead. Because he does not want to lose and always has those who are like family to him. Those he loves–his love for the youkai nation.

His love for the youkai nation also makes him greedy, right?–he wants to always be with them. People who love youkai are clearly the wrong kind of love. Rin knew that, but she did not reject it, she embraced that love along with all its consequences.

So, why was he afraid of his love for Sesshoumaru? Isn't Sesshoumaru the most beloved youkai?–most important in his world?

Sesshoumaru will never have it? Can't be together forever?–since long ago, doesn't he already know all that? He always said it and it would not be possible to come true, because he was Rin, and the one he loved was Sesshoumaru.

Rin and Sesshoumaru.

Humans and youkai.

Sesshoumaru who never loved as well as himself who would age and die–Rin did not mind him as a child. He could already smile and be happy just by looking at that inuyoukai figure. Live very happy and satisfied despite not having it.

Love is happiness. Rin knows that, however, she can add one sentence now, that is; love should not have.

To be around him, to always see him, that's enough. His human love for a youkai is a consequence of his life. Now, Rin knew, she could embrace her love for Sesshoumaru completely.

"Rin," Akihiko's voice calls Rin out of her daydream. "You daydreaming? You don't care about me, do you?"

Hearing Akihiko's question, Rin immediately answered the southern landlord's question with his head bowed down in guilt. "I forgive Rin for daydreaming Akihiko-sama."

"Then smile. I'll forgive you if you smile." Akihiko laughs at Rin's adorable demeanor.

Rin couldn't stop her smile when she heard Akihiko's words. Raising his head, he laughed. "All right Akihiko-sama."

"True, smile and laugh like that always, Rin." Akihiko's laughter grew louder looking at the human girl who had now returned to her usual self.

Rin looked at Akihiko's laughter. Slowly, his right hand slapped the southern land ruler's cheek. Then, when their brown and sky blue eyes met, the human girl smiled very sweetly. "Thank you for bringing Rin to the human city."

What Akihiko did, Rin was very grateful. Because, the ruler of this southern land has helped himself free from the shackles that exist. If only he had not been to the human city and met the little girl, perhaps until now he was still drifting in his fear.

"Thank you, Akihiko-sama."

The warm touch on the cheeks, the soft voice that called her name and the sweet smile that was there–it all made Akihiko stunned. He even stopped moving, his entire world was only centered on that human girl alone.

Sensing Akihiko who was not moving, Rin's smile disappeared replaced the expression of confusion. "Akihiko-sama, what's wrong?"

Rin's question made Akihiko aware. Looking his face the other way, the ruler of the southern land tried to hide the reddened face from the girl's sweet smile. "It's okay" he answered quickly and flew back.

Rin feels something is strange to Akihiko, but she doesn't ask more. Looking at the face forward, he closed his eyes and let the wind caress his face, letting the sunlight shine on him with a smile on his face. Her heart had calmed down, the human girl was feeling very happy and free now.

Akihiko who saw Rin could only return stunned. Looking at that smile, he could feel his heart beating so fast. There was only one word to describe what he saw.

Well-favoured.

Rin is the most beautiful woman and the most unique girl he has ever seen. Since knowing her, there was not a day that Akihiko did not think about her.

As the ruler of the southern lands, Akihiko has had everything in the world. Power, power, wealth until the women all had, there was never anything that interested him until finally Rin was present in his life. Like the sun, that girl, so dazzling and warm. The girl's every laugh and smile made her feel peace.

Unknowingly, everything he had seemed to be meaningless. Therefore, Akihiko is willing to do anything to get Rin. The ruler of the southern lands knew, if the girl was willing to be with him, smile and laugh at him every day.

Tsubasa stood up straight, a small smile expanding on her face. Not far from where he stood, he could see the figure of three inuyoukai people walking closer to the door of the southern land palace he guarded.

The three inuyoukao walked slowly. Their faces were calm with no expression, however, the vigilance in Tsubasa's heart could only get higher and higher. The youkai instinct in him kept warning him of danger in plain sight when he saw Sesshoumaru.

Walking with Kira and Kiri behind him, Sesshoumaru could feel clear with the youkai within the southern land palace gathering. He could also sense the aura of Inukimi, Inuyasha and his entourage. However, he did not feel the slightest aura of Akihiko and–Rin's existence.

Seeing the distance with the inuyoukai in front only a few meters away, Tsubasa laughed softly. "Welcome to the palace of the southern land, sshoumaru-sama," he greeted politely. "Do you object to telling this servant the purpose of your coming?"

Sesshoumaru, Kira and Kiri stopped their footsteps hearing Tsubasa's question. They did not answer, because Akihiko's own favorite concubine actually already has an answer. The question is an unnecessary ado.

"Akihiko-sama, the ruler of the southern lands is not in the palace of this southern land now, Sesshoumaru-sama." Tsubasa continued again with a smile that still adorned her face.

However, all of a sudden, Sesshoumaru had shot towards Tsubasa with incredible speed. His right hand immediately gripped the neck of the youkai bird and lifted it upwards. The two golden eyes of the ruler of the western land were shining full of anger. "Where is Rin?"

Tsubasa did not answer Sesshoumaru's question. Taking out the whip behind his waist, he threw the weapon as hard as he could towards Sesshoumaru.

Instantly, Kira and Kiri who were behind the ruler of the western lands immediately moved forward catching the whip with their hands.

Sesshoumaru remained motionless in the slightest with Tsubasa's attack, as well as his facial expression. Strengthening the grip of his hand, he asked once more. "Where is Rin?"

Tsubasa did not reply, instead she laughed, though her laughter was held back by Sesshoumaru's neck.

Seeing Tsubasa's laughter, Sesshoumaru knew, this bird youkai would not answer his question. Without even winking his eyes, the ruler of the western lands threw Tsubasa's body into the gate wall of the southern earth palace.

The great wall cracked as Tsubasa's body hit him strongly. The cries of pain escaped from the mouth of the beloved concubine of the ruler of the southern land without being restrained.

All the southern youkai that were inside the southern land palace were immediately on alert to see what was happening. Clasping their weapons, a few youkai immediately ran forward.

Sesshoumaru did not care about those youkai-youkai. Raising his head, he leaped and flew up on the roof of the southern land palace– towards Inuyasha and the others.

Inuyasha pulled out his tessaiga sword as he looked at Sesshoumaru who landed in front of them followed by Kira and Kiri. However, Inukimi, Kagome, Miroku and Sango did not, they remained sitting quietly staring at the ruler of the western land.

"Where is Rin?" ask Sessgoumaru flat. He paid no heed to Inuyasha who pointed a sword at him.

"Why are you questioning my daughter's whereabouts?" inukimi asked back with a smile.

Sesshoumaru did not answer, his face remained calm, but in his heart, he tried desperately to hold back the growing anger.

Inukimi's smile widened even more looking at Sesshoumaru's flat expression. His son though looked calm, he knew, in his heart it was not. An increasingly terrifying aura had clearly proven how furious he was now.

Rise to his feet, Inukimi walked towards Sesshoumaru. Standing in front of him, he raised his right hand to touch the cheek of the ruler of the western land. "Aren't you supposed to be busy preparing for your marriage to the fox?"

Sesshoumaru's anger was unbearable to hear Inukimi's second question, moving his hand, he attacked her mother.

Inukimi immediately jumped to avoid. His facial expression did not change, instead his laughter grew stronger. Landing, his moko immediately flew to attack Sesshoumaru without any concern.

Sesshoumaru immediately dodged Inukimi's attack. Running towards her biological mother, she again moved her attacking hand.

Inuyasha who saw the mother-daughter fight inuyoukai was lowering his sword. Not knowing why, he felt himself to have ignored them.

"Sesshoumaru and Inukimi-san don't seem to care about ruining someone else's house, huh?" the laughter of Miroku's voice that saw the fight of Sesshoumaru and Inukimi.

"They'd rather fight in getting things done than talk." Sango continued, shaking his head. Taijiya was reminded again of the mother-daughter fight a few years ago when Inukimi kidnapped Rin from a human village. It seemed, the former ruler of the western land had indeed never changed.

"Yes, Inukimi-san is always full of spirit." Kagome's laughter seemed as if the fight that had begun to destroy some part of the roof of this southern earthen palace was harmless.

Inuyasha just stared at his wife and friends. In his heart, he thought, they wouldn't trick him into stopping the mother-daughter fight in front of it like it used to be, right?

Inuyasha's golden eyes then fell on the figure of Kira and Kiri who stood still quietly. However, a second later the two inuyoukai jumped down. Following them, the innuanyou could see Tsubasa as well as several southern youkai moving towards them with guns in hand, and the twins from the west stopped him.

Explosions and screams were heard everywhere. The originally quiet southern land palace had now been filled with commotion.

"Ugh," Inuyasha grumbled while using his right hand to massage his forehead. "It looks like the west and south are going to fight again."

Kagome, Miroku and Sango can only laugh confused by this unavoidable condition. Youkai are truly living beings who love fighting.

Sesshoumaru's golden eyes that were fighting Inukimi almost turned blood red. Patience is already running low because the former ruler of the western lands who continues to avoid it is clearly not intending to fight it seriously. He didn't want to waste time here like this.

Pulling out the bakusaiga sword at his waist, Sesshoumaru's movements suddenly stopped. From the blowing wind, he could clearly smell the smell of spring in the unique spring–bau Rin. However, it was clear that there was also a familiar smell to him, the smell of the southern land lord; akihiko.

Stopping his attack, Sesshoumaru turned his head around to look at the source of the smell he smelled. Golden eyes widened and his hands clenched tightly as he looked from a distance two figures were flying towards him.

Sesshoumaru could see clearly the figure of Akihiko who also looked back at him with a smile on his face. Then, she could also see also, the figure of the human girl sitting in the hands of the ruler of the land south–Rin.

Anger again filled Sesshoumaru's heart. How dare!! How dare Akihiko do that! The place Rin was sitting in now was his! From small to large, the girl can only sit in her hands, not anyone else!!

"Sesshoumaru-sama!!" the sound of a shout calling out to Sesshoumaru was heard stopping the battle below.

Kira and Kiri immediately stopped upon hearing Rin's voice, as did Tsubasa and the southern youkai who saw the presence of their ruler Akihiko.

Above the sky of the southern land palace, Akihiko and Rin then flew down. However, despite having set foot on the roof not far in front of Sesshoumaru, the ruler of the southern land still had no intention in his heart to take down the girl he had in his hands.

Rin was unable to hide his surprised expression as well as fearing it would ever be the sight he was seeing now. The former battle and several injured youkai were clearly visible, what exactly happened?

"It's okay, Rin," Akihiko's calm voice immediately made Rin turn her face to him. Smiling, the ruler of the southern land raised his free hand to caress Rin's head. "Tenam–"

Sesshoumaru's hand suddenly stopped Akihiko's hand movement. Not knowing since when, the ruler of the western land had been in front of Rin and Akihiko. His golden eyes that turned blood red stared intently at the wolf youkai in front of him.

"Don't touch Rin, Akihiko." Sesshoumaru's voice was calm and flat, but anyone who heard could feel the horror contained.

However, Akihiko did not care about Sesshoumaru. He looked back at the ruler of the western land with a smile on his widened face. "Why should I hear you, Sesshoumaru?"

Sesshoumaru clasped Akihiko's hand tighter as soon as he heard a clear-sounding question coming at him. His blood-red eyes were getting reddened signifying an ever-increasing anger.

"S-Sesshoumaru-sama, please Rin!! Stop that!! Don't hurt Akihiko-sama!!" rin's voice between Sesshoumaru and Akihiko is suddenly heard to break the tension between the two rulers.

Looking over at Rin, both Sesshoumaru and Akihiko could see the pale face full of panic of the human girl. Both her large brown eyes glazed over holding back tears. Stunned, Sesshoumaru's blood-red eyes returned to gold

"Akihiko-sama, put Rin down," Rin's pinta quickly. His teary eyes stared at the ruler of the southern land full of supplications. "Rin please."

"Ck." Screeching dislike Rin's plea, Akihiko slammed Sesshoumaru's hand into hers. Slowly, he then took down the human girl sitting in the other hand.

Taking one step, Rin's hands directly touched Sesshoumaru's chest. His big brown eyes that were still holding back tears stared fixedly at those inuyoukai golden eyes. "S-sesshoumaru-sama, Rin please do not hurt Akihiko-sama, do not fight with the south anymore.."

Rin's plea made Sesshoumaru tightly clench his fingers, a mixed feeling of pain unwilling to appear in his heart. This human girl was now begging him not to hurt Akihiko, not to fight anymore with him–is the existence of that wolf youkai in her heart so important now? Has Rin replaced her existence with that youkai?–no! He wouldn't allow it.

Not caring about Rin's plea, Sesshoumaru clasped the human girl's right hand. Turning her body, she pulled it. "We're home, Rin."

"Sesshoumaru-sama!" Rin could only go back to calling the name inuyoukai in front of him. Confusion and fear filled his heart, Sesshoumaru did not answer his plea, what if war really broke out again between the west and the south?

However, taking just one step, Akihiko had pulled Rin's left hand and stopped them. His blue eyes stared intently at Sesshoumaru full of anger. "Rin won't go with you, Sesshoumaru."

Sesshoumaru turned his back on Akihiko's gaze. "Get your hand off, wolf."

Akihiko laughed, "You let go, dog."

Rin who was between Sesshoumaru and Akihiko returned confused. He really did not know what was happening, even more so with both hands held by the two rulers, he became unable to move.

The pain then felt Rin's hand as the grip of the two rulers who looked at each other was getting stronger.

"Yes! Enough's enough! Stop this!" the sound of Kagome's loud cries suddenly filled the silence over the roof of the southern earthen palace. Walking closer to Sesshoumaru, Rin and Akihiko, the future miko stood behind Rin. Both of his hands were holding onto the shoulders of the human girl, while his eyes were looking at Sesshoumaru and Akihiko with a smile. "Can you let go of Rin-chan's hand, Big brother, Akihiko-san? Rin is in pain."

Kagome's words instantly made Sesshoumaru and Akihiko aware. Releasing Rin's hand, a feeling of guilt filled his second heart as he saw the girl's white arm now flushed red from their grasp.

"Sister, Akihiko-san, please continue your fight," the smile on Kagome's face widened, both eyes staring fearlessly at the two rulers in front. "Me, Sango and Inukimi-san will return to the room to treat the wound in Rin-chan's hand."
