Chapter 59's

Rin's feet continued to step, looking ahead, he was already close to reaching the top of the hill houshi. But the closer, the harder his feet were to step. The snow ground he stepped on continued to sway like an earthquake, and also, his ears could clearly catch the sound of explosions, cries of pain and laughter of madness from a distance.

That youkai battle, Rin knew clearly what it was like. As a child, he had already seen with his own eyes the damage that was left; the shattered realms.

Focusing his mind, Rin continued to step up. The snow had indeed stopped falling, but the winter sky at the top of the hill of Houshi had darkened even more. Rin did not know, whether it was because of the youkai battle up there or because it was nature's will.

Getting closer, Rin's nose smelled the rancid smell of blood that pierced her sense of smell. Then, what he saw upon arriving at the top of the mountain was something he did not want to see, namely; blood, pain, fear, madness and death.

Rin's eyes widened, his heart was beating fast and a deep sadness filled his heart. Now far in front of him, so many youkai-youkai known and unknown lying covered in blood, injured and even—mati.

No one was aware of Rin's presence there, as the smell of blood and the aura of so many youkai mingled engulfing the existence of a weak human girl. What's more, Rin's eyes could also see that all of the youkai eyes were centered on two figures who were fighting all the way in front of him.

Swords and swords clashed, explosion after explosion that left destruction everywhere. The two most important daiyoukai figures from the western and southern lands were fighting in their inhuman figures again; blood-red eyes, wide lips with long fangs, and long, deep-set eyes, the terrifying aura of youki—they have already started to return to their original youkai figure.

Their views meet. But a second later, there was a strange happening, for the first time in his life, Rin saw the inuyoukai looking at his face full of fear. Ignoring the opponent and running towards him, the ruler of the western land shouted loudly calling out his name. "Rin!!!!"

Unaware of Rin himself, from behind, a single arrow of youki shot rapidly after him.

"Stop that human girl, Takeru-sama!!" akiko shouted as her gaze fell on Rin's figure in the distance.

Akiko who realized Rin's existence was filled with anger. How could that human girl be here now? Does that mean Yukimura has failed?

Takeru set his sights on the figure known as Hime from the west. Other than her unusual beauty, she did not find any advantages from the human girl.

"Kill him, Tekeru-sama!!" yelled Akiko again staring at Takeru. The fox youkai felt an uneasy feeling in his heart. Deep down, there was one feeling that said that all their plans would fall apart if the human girl lived.

Takeru did not understand Akiko who wanted the death of the human girl so strongly. However, he accepted it. There was excitement in his heart as he imagined how Sesshoumaru would react to seeing his pet human girl die in plain sight.

Not wasting any time, Takeru opened his palm and created a black arrow. Pulling his bow, a youki arrow appeared. Leading her to the figure of the human girl, she smiled cynically and released an arrow.

The arrow of youki shot out quickly, a dimensional gate suddenly opened swallowing the arrow. Disappearing, the arrow then appeared again right behind the hime from the west eyeing his head.

Rin had no idea what was happening, his world was moving so quickly that it could not be digested. Wanted the voice of Sesshoumaru who called out his name, the world seemed to be spinning. Then, a person's hand suddenly withdrew itself, forcing him forward. Unable to maintain balance, the human girl fell into the chest of someone who immediately hugged her tightly.

From behind him, Rin heard the sound of a very strong, deafening explosion. Thick smoke billowed, and as she focused her gaze on the figure that was embracing her, a smile adorned her pretty face. "Kira-sama!!"

Kira, the inuyoukai guard of trust of the ruler of the western land stood with a spear drawn forward. His right hand held tightly to the spear ready to launch an attack, while his left hand tightly hugged Rin's waist.

"Damn it!!" takeru shouted full of anger as he looked at what was happening from a distance.

Exerting his youkin power, the ruler of the northern land again drew a bow in hand. A large arrow appeared, and as he released his shot, the arrow then split into dozens of arrows.

Just like his first attack, a dimensional gate appeared swallowing all those arrows. The arrows reappear around Rin and Kira, eyeing them.

Dozens of arrows surrounded them, making Kira's eyes wide. This arrow was no ordinary arrow, and with this much he knew he would not be able to dodge everything, even more so with Rin in his arms.

Kira can't take any chances if the arrow injures Rin. He who is a youkai may suffer serious injuries, but he will survive. Another case with Rin who is an ordinary human; the human girl will not be able to survive.

Throwing away her spear, Kira makes the best decision she has in mind to save Rin. The Inuyoukai tightly hugged the girl with both hands, curled up and made herself a shield.

"Rin-sama!!!!!"

From a distance, Rin can hear clearly the voices shouting her name, the voices of youkai from the west who know her, the voices of Inukimi, Akihiko and-the voices of Sesshoumaru.

Once again, Rin felt his world spinning very quickly. In Rin's arms, he couldn't see anything. However, he could clearly feel something piercing the body that was hugging him.

"Kira!!!!!" Left shouted loudly calling out the name of his twin brother. His two golden eyes widened could not hide the feeling of fear in the heart.

On the other hand, far behind Rin and Kira being, Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango and Kenji have also arrived at the top of the hill houshi. Their eyes were wide open unable to hide the fear.

"Rin!!!"

"Rin!!" akihiko's panicked voice was heard calling out the name of the human girl. He came running behind Sesshoumaru forgetting their fight just now.

In front, Sesshoumaru who was running as fast as he could, saw for himself, the youki arrow was directional and pierced Kira who was protecting Rin. And it all made the inuyoukai ruler of the western lands aware for the first time in his long life, what it was; powerlessness.

No matter how strong she ran, she would not be able to be next to the human girl, because of her— keeping her away from danger.

Rin wants to be with Sesshoumaru.

That immortal spring smile flashed through his mind. What would happen if he lost that smile? What if he lost that little body warmth? If he loses that human girl for good—now he knows; he could go crazy.

"Rin!!!"

The sound of screams calling his name, the sound of explosions and the ground where he sat that kept spinning. Rin could not think of anything, there was only confusion. As everything stopped, he felt a warm liquid flowing down his back, resuscitating him from what had happened.

Slowly, Rin felt the two hands that were holding her loose. Hungry he looked up head staring at the inuyoukai who were hugging him. "Kira-sama, ap—"

Rin's words were never resolved. His brown eyes looked at the surprised figure of Kira who was now staring at him.

"A-you're okay, aren't you, Rin-sama.." said the inuyoukai slowly.

"K-Kira-sama.." call Rin slowly, her voice shaking violently. In front of him now, Kira was sitting with dozens of holes all over her body. The red blood flowed nonstop.

"Thank God." a small smile saw Rin's facial expression, Kira then closed her eyes. The inuyoukai body then collapsed towards Rin who immediately embraced him.

"About the same." call Rin. Kira's red blood soaked the kimono she was wearing, however, she did not care, moving her hands, she was shaking the already breathless inuyoukai body. "Kira-sama!!!"

Tears fell down Rin's cheeks. Confusion and fear filled him. Looking around, he could see the figures of Seshhoumaru, Akihiko, Inukimi, Kiri running towards him. Then, his gaze was then directed at the wounded and lifeless youkai-youkai that existed.

You can stop this war, Rin.

The words Kenji spoke to her flashed through Rin's mind. He seemed to want to laugh at himself; how naive he had ever thought he could and could be.

War.

Deaths.

Bereft.

War wounds—dia felt it again. Rin is back to losing those who are his family. Not only himself, now how many youkai have lost a loved one. If he arrived sooner, would everything be different?—He, an ordinary human who had no power whatsoever.

Raising his hand, Rin squeezed his aching chest and found the seki meido he was wearing. It hurts, his heart hurts. Closing his eyes, he shouted in despair. "Hhhhhh!!!!!"

The smiles of the youkai and Kira who loved him filled Rin's mind. Himself wrong? If he wants peace. In a world of chaos, it is wrong to want peace. No matter human or youkai, he doesn't want bloodshed—he wants everyone to live and be happy!!

Rin's tears flowed down, dripping down. Then, when one of his tears hit meido seki in the hand—meido seki shone brightly.

All those at the top of the hill househi stared in disbelief at the human girl as the meido seki in his hand shone brightly. The strong light that is like a kekkai is expanding and bright until all who are are forced to close their eyes.

A strong wind blew, making all those who did not know what was happening stand firm keeping the balance.

Sesshoumaru did not know what was happening, raised his hand and using his arm to block the bright light, he tried hard to keep going despite the strong wind constantly blowing him.

The light is getting stronger and stronger, and so is the wind blowing. Inuyoukai the ruler of the western land did not know what was happening, but he knew, the source of this light and wind was; Rin.

A second later, in one blink of an eye, the bright light disappeared, as did the strong wind that blew. The black clouds at the top of the hill househi disappeared, replaced with reddish twilight sun.

All the noise came to a halt, and when all the youkai that were there opened their eyes, they saw a miracle. All the wounds on their bodies were healed without a trace, and not only that, neither their opponents nor their comrades who had been killed, all of them; were brought back to life.

Staring in disbelief at what happened thousands of pairs of youkai eyes were staring at the human girl who was the source of the light.

Under the red twilight sun, the human girl sat with her eyes closed. Both of his hands tightly hugged the meido seki on his chest. As soon as everything was conscious, not knowing how, he had used the power of the western land heirloom; meido seki—the human girl had raised hundreds of youkai from the dead.

Rin then opened her eyes, looked back at the hundreds of youkai who had risen again, then, her gaze fell on Kira beside her who had also opened her eyes, staring at her confusion mixed with disbelief.

Instantly, tears flowed down her cheeks, but this time, a smile of spring brimmed on that beautiful face. "Thank God... Thank You..."

No one knew why the human girl was grateful and also did not know, to whom the human girl was grateful.

Rin's gaze then shifted to Sesshoumaru who was already in front of him. The smile on his face widened even more, however, before he could summon that inuyoukai name, he lost all his strength. His gaze suddenly darkened and the last thing he remembered was the voice that called out his name.

"Rin!!"
