Chapter 56's

Inuyasha slashed the tessaiga in his hand at Yukimura who jumped dodging. Following him, the inuanyou jumped up and continued to shake his sword which failed to hit the opponent; the youkai in front of him was too agile.

"Don't dodge the jerk!!" inuyasha shouted. His golden eyes searched for air cracks where he could launch the tessaiga mainstay, and when he found it, he wasted no time in launching it. "Kaze no kizu!!!"

A powerful youki explosion instantly shot towards Yukimura, the lands below cracked and shattered by the attack capable of killing a hundred youkai.

Yukimura was quite surprised by Inuyasha's attack. He knew this inuyoukai-launched style was a dangerous one. Jumping upwards, from behind Yukimura's back, a pair of black wings appeared, and he flew high into the sky.

Inuyasha clucked resentfully at Yukimura, "Fight me son of a bitch!!"

That Huanyou was already very upset, he hoped to find an opponent who could fight seriously with him, not an opponent who kept dodging.

Yukimura who flew over Inuyasha knew, he should not underestimate his opponent even if he was hanyou. In the west, the inuhanyou was recognized as the strongest hanyou. However, hanyou is hanyou, unable to fight a true youkai. If only, he was tasked with stealing Meido Seiki and killing Hime from the west alive, he would happily serve inuhayou in front of him.

"If you can live and find me, I will fight you with pleasure." Yukimura's laughter was loud, with a look of disdain for Inuyasha. In his eyes, those inuyoukai were nothing more than weak insects, and he was unwilling to waste any longer here.

Yukimura then turned her body and flew towards Kenji and Rin away.

"Shoppers!!" inuyasha shouted trying to catch up. But, one of Yukimura's five subordinate youkai suddenly appeared behind him while unsheathing the sword in hand.

"Inuyasha, down!!" kagome shouted loudly while releasing an arrow from in front of Inuyasha towards the youkai who attacked her husband.

Inuyasha immediately lowered his head, the holy arrow that was released quickly shot towards the target. But just like Yukimura, from behind his subordinate's young young young man's back, a pair of black affections grew. He flew away.

"They are tengu." said Miroku as he threw the silk paper in his hand. His eyes clearly saw the other four youkai had also started to return to their original figure; a human-bodied figure with a pair of wings on its back.

Sango said nothing, but in throwing hiraikotsu in his hand towards the enemy who immediately flew up to evade. The Taijiya knew, even if it was only subordinates, it seemed, the five tengu they were facing were quite powerful youkai.

Kagome stared at the five tengu that were flying above the sky in silence. Directing the direction of his arrow, he again launched his attack. They must not waste time here, as much as possible, this fight must be resolved as soon as possible. "Inuyasha, now!!"

Seeing Kagome's arrow being released, Inuyasha instantly knew what his wife wanted. Not wasting any time, he immediately launched his attack. "Kaze no Kozu!!"

The powerful youki's deadly attack was instantly directed at the tengu-tengu above the sky. Kagome's holy arrow attack combined with Kaze no kizu shocked opponents. They tried to evade, but not all succeeded, three tengu perished in an instant.

Miroku and Sango did not waste the opportunity. Seeing the panic of the two remaining tengu, Miroku immediately threw his silk paper, and his wife also immediately threw a giant boomerang in the hand. "Hiraikotsu!!"

The silk paper that Miroku threw out managed to stop the movement of one of the tengu. Then, Sango's hiraikotsu attack violently slammed the tengu's body until it fell down not moving anymore.

The only remaining tengu felt an overwhelming anger seeing his companions being defeated that easily, he turned his head full of anger at the humans below, preparing to attack.

But, instantly his eyes widened. Not knowing when, Inuyasha had jumped up to be right in front of him. The inuyoukai hand was paddling the tessaiga in the hand towards him.

"You are so weak!!" inuyasha shouted mockingly as his saber hit the tengu.

Kagome saw Inuyasha defeat their last enemy and sighed. Despite having children, her husband's attitude has not changed; childish.

Miroku and Sango did not say anything, but inwardly, they also agreed with Kagome.

Inuyasha who landed on the ground lightly put the big sword tessaiga on his left shoulder while grinning. The joyous face of successfully defeating the opponent immediately stared at his wife and friends.

Inuyasha's expression and style inevitably left Kagome, Miroku and Sango stunned. Then, for a moment, they laughed. A few years have passed, and yet they have not changed, as they once did, to help each other fight the youkai; their cohesiveness will never change forever.

"Come on!" laughter Inuyasha happy. "We hunt the last tengu who belittles us!!"

"What did you say Shippo?!" yelled Kohaku surprised to hear Shipo's explanation.

Kohaku and Shippo are now running as fast as they can towards the hill house where the war of the west and south will take place.

"Everything, we must save Shiro and the others before it's too late." Reply to the little fox youkai.

Kohaku's face paled. How was the young taijiya not surprised when she heard the northern reason for kidnapping Shiro, Aya, Maya and Mamoru?

'North wanted to kill Shiro as well as the others on the battlefield. And they're going to engineer the story so that Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku and Sango believe that Sesshoumyou're the one who sacrificed them there. They wanted to make Inuyasha and the others quarrel with Sesshoumaru."

The actual plan is quite ambiguous but it also makes sense to judge the relationship of Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru which is never good. Kohaku was convinced that the inuanyou would definitely fight Sesshoumaru to death if his only son lost his life in the south-west war.

"How do you know Shippo's plan?" ask Kohaku later. Actually he was quite confused as well how this fox youkai could suddenly appear in the western land palace and knew all the plans of the north.

"Keh" said Shippo. "That's because I'm in the north!"

"Why are you in the north?" ask Kohaku again increasingly tangent.

Shippo. He couldn't possibly answer he was in the north because he didn't want to be involved in a south-west war, right? He couldn't possibly say that he was a coward, right?

"I-I infiltrated the northern palace," Shippo said as much as possible with a slightly pushy facial expression. "You know with my trasformational style, I turned into one of the youkai in the north, and there I got all this information."

Shippo's expression made Kohaku wonder why the fox youkai looked nervous? But, he doesn't care much. For now, their top priority was to save Shiro and the others, and after saving the children, he had to tell Sesshoumaru; the north had its own intentions in this south-west war.

A dark sky with thick clouds covered the sky. The villagers who were located under the hoshi mountain fled when they saw hundreds of youkai flying towards the top of the mountain.

The sound of war drums accompanied by laughter, cries and cries of the youkai make the feathers of the residents stand.

As far as the eye could see, the eyes of the residents could not hide the fear. Despite not having any spiritual power, they knew how terrifying and dangerous the youkai were.

The inhabitants have heard the news; youkai from the west will fight with youkai from the south.

War was something terrifying for the villagers, moreover this was a youkai war. Therefore, all the residents did not hesitate to leave their residences without carrying any valuables even though it was winter.

"Quick!! No need to bring any more stuff!! We have to run fast!!" shouted a middle-aged man, a villager under the hill houshi to his wife.

The little family ran to the main street of the village, and there they saw all the residents who also ran towards the exit of the village. Their condition was the same, they just ran away with nothing but themselves and family members.

No villager had ever thought that the hill of houshi would be a battleground of the western and southern youkai.

Gazing towards the snow-capped peaks of the houshi mountain in winter, the man could only pray that his little family would survive.

And at the top of the hill houshi where all the western and southern youkai stood face to face, their ruler stood at the very front; Sesshoumaru from the west and Akihiko from the south.

Akihiko stood silently staring at the enemy troops in front of him, and beside him Tsubasa stood with a grinning smile on her face. What was the total number of western youkai troops now he did not know for sure, but the number was roughly balanced with his army of ten thousand more.

Akihiko's sky blue eyes then fell on the figure of Sesshoumaru staring at him. In the past, as heirs of the south and west, they had met several times as children, and now, having grown up, the inuyoukai never changed a face without expression that was always calm under any circumstances. And if anything different is that pair of eyes; the blood-red eyes are not gold.

'Rin thanks him because it is his blessing that Rin can be with Sesshoumaru-sama.'

Rin's words and smile flashed through Akihiko's mind, and instantly an overwhelming anger filled his heart. His sky blue eyes turned red. Every time he remembered the most beautiful smile the human girl had not addressed to him, he could not control himself. He wanted to kill whoever the owner of the smile was aimed at; Sesshoumaru.

Sesshoumaru tried to calm down and control himself when he saw Akihiko. He didn't see, smell or sense Rin's presence on this battlefield, and he knew it was likely that the human girl was still being held in the southern palace.

Is the girl okay? Was the girl as frightened and crying as when she was kidnapped by her enemies as a child? Did the girl call his name when in danger like she used to?

They were separated for six days. The longest six days for a Sesshoumaru who has lived for hundreds of years. The first time he realized how empty his life was without that eternal spring.

Sesshoumaru.

Rin's smile flashed in Sesshoumaru's mind, making the inuyoukai feel a strange feeling in his heart.

Youkai are the most superior creatures in the world. There's no point feeling. Feelings will only make you weak. Feelings will only make you disappear. Youkai are creatures that can live alone.

Those words flashed through Sesshoumaru's mind, making an odd new feeling overwhelm his body—feelings that he did not know what they were.

Weak and destroyed.

Sesshoumaru believes love for youkai is a weakness. Didn't his father's love, Inu no Taisho to the human daughter Izayoi have proven it?

All his life Sesshoumaru had always respected his father, the only thing his father disliked was the foolishness of loving a man, the foolishness of letting love be his weakness. Now he followed in his father's footsteps; loved a man.

He who pursues strength long ago, is able to let the human girl become his weakness?—no. He didn't evangelize her, so did he allow the girl to disappear from his life?

For the first time in his life, Sesshoumaru did not know what to do, and the more he thought about the possibility of the human girl disappearing, the more the strange feeling grew, the feeling; the more afraid.

But, Sesshoumaru for now, in this moment, he did not want to dissolve in those feelings; human feelings. He's not human. He is a youkai, a ruler in the battlefield. The main priority now is to win the war.

What will he do after that? What will happen to him and Rin after the war is over?- And most importantly, how will their relationship be? Sesshoumaru would think about it after this war was over, after the spring girl returned to him.

To the southern youkai who dared to kidnap the girl from his palace, he would completely annihilate them all in this war.

Unplugging the bakusaiga on her plate, Sesshoumaru pointed it at Akihiko. "Kill."

In a sudden blizzard, Kenji did not lower his running speed in the slightest. On his back, Rin closed his eyes while tightly hugging the monkey youkai's neck. The cold temperature that attacked his body, made the human gaphis shiver.

"Hold on, Rin-rin," said Kenji bracing the human girl on his back. "We'll be at Houshi's mountain soon."

Rin nodded his head. He was cold, but he didn't care. His head was still muddled with what he had to do.

"Don't think too much, Rin-rin," said Kenji again, knowing that the human girl was confused. "You convinced Sesshoumaru and Akihiko to stop."

Rin is silent and honestly he really doesn't understand why Kenji thinks he can stop the war. How could those two daiyoukai stop if he asked. "W-how did Rin do it?" tanyanya then stammered.

Rin's question made Kenji stunned. He turned his head to the side looking at the human girl who stared back at him with eyes full of doubt. Why was he sure this human girl could stop the war? Would all be surprised if he answered; intuition.

Ever since first seeing the human girl in the west, beside Sesshoumaru, Kenji had always felt that girl was different. He is human, but lives in the world and blends in with youkai. There is no fear and he accepts youkai as they really are, their good side and their dark side. He was the only human who could easily touch the hearts of the youkai. Therefore, he believed, this girl could stop the war.

"Enough by being yourself, Rin-rin." replied Kenji then with a smile.

"B-but-ahhhh!!" rin shouted in surprise, because, suddenly, Kenji who was holding himself behind his back jumped to the side while turning his body back.

Rin's human eyes could clearly see a black-colored youki sword flying in their direction.

Kenji releases his right hand that is holding Rin. A long golden colored staff appeared suddenly. Quickly, he used the stick to resist the attack.

"Although it's old, your capture is still sharp, Kenji-sama" laughed a man suddenly.

Kenji's eyes stared fixedly at the figure of youkai that appeared from behind him as he landed on the ground, "Yukimura.." he muttered annoyedly.

Yukimura moved her gaze at Rin and smiled. "Hime-sama, why are you running away from this servant."

Rin silently watched Yukimura in front of him. The smile and the sight of the youkai eyes in front of him make Rin realize that the youkai in front of him is a cruel youkai that he must avoid

"Rin-rin," said Kenji to grab Rin's attention. He took down the girl on his back. "Our place is not far from mount houshi, you can go there by yourself, right?"

Kenji's question lets Rin know that the monkey youkai will stay where they are now to fight Yukimura. He was actually still confused about what to do, but staying here was not a good decision either. Kenji, Inuyasha, Kagonme, Miroku and Sango have taken the danger to take him out of the southern land palace and believe he can stop the war—he must not disappoint their expectations, right?

"Rin can, Kenji-sama," Rin nodded her head. His eyes radiated a ray of determination, and his voice though small sounded so resolute. "Rin will try as much as possible."

Kenji smiled at Rin's words. Swinging the staff in hand, he dashed towards Yukimura. "Now, go Rin-rin!!"
