Chapter 67's

As Rin opened her eyes, she felt herself in a very foreign place to her. The ceiling above him felt extremely low, and the wind that blew over his face felt extremely strong.

"Are you awake, Rin-chan?" kagome's voice made Rin immediately get up and rubbed his eyes.

"Good morning, Rin-sama, is your sleep well?" a woman's soft and foreign voice rang out, leaving Rin confused. However, the confusion immediately turned to surprise.

"D-where is this??" rin asked with wide eyes.

Rin is not in Inuyasha's house anymore, but in a large palanquin floating above the sky. The palanquin is so big that Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango and a female youkai can sit inside with him.

"Include, the name of the servant, Hanako, Rin-sama," the youkai woman smilingly introduced herself. "And now we are near the western and southern borders."

The answer from Hanako immediately confused Rin. "South-west border?"

"Yes, the south western border, Rin-sama," Hanako repeated. With a smile fixed on his face, the youkai turned his head out. "Bring Rin-sama's breakfast in."

From outside the stretcher a youkai woman suddenly entered with a small table filled with food. Putting it in front of Rin, the youkai saluted and withdrew out of the palanquin.

Rin stared at the breakfast the youkai provided was full of confusion. What the hell's going on? Is he still dreaming? But, it felt very real. And most importantly, why is he here now?

"K-kagome-sama, Inuyasha-sama, Miroku-sama and Sango-sama, what happened?" rin asked looking at Inuyasha and the others.

"Ehmm," muttered Kagome softly. The future Miko is actually also quite confused how to explain to Rin what happened. "Semal–"

"We're on our way to the southern land palace." cut Inuyasha ketus. Both of his hands were folded on his chest, while his golden eyes looked dislikeful. "And we're in the palanquin the jackal sent to pick you up."

"Eh??" rin is getting confused.

"I mean Inuyasha it's Akihiko, the ruler of the southern land, Rin-chan," explained Miroku as he struck the annoyed-faced shoulder of Inuyasha. "Don't face like that, Inuyasha. You will scare Hanako-san and the beautiful women outside."

"Take care of your attitude and your eyes, my husband," said Sango. His right hand quickly pinched Miroku's cheek. "Or I'll throw you out of this stretcher."

"Don't be like that, my wife," Miroku smiled as if the threat of Sango was meaningless. "I just want to melt Inuyasha's face."

Inuyasha snorted softly and looked away at Miroku and sango's attitude. Kagome only smiled slightly looking at the familiar sight beside her.

Yes, they are all indeed on their way to the southern land palace right now. What happened last night is clearly remembered. Inukimi who easily and smilingly accepts Akihiko's invitation and brings Rin who is asleep into the palanquin.

No matter what Inuyasha and the others said, the former lord of the western land remained unconcerned. In the end, they were forced to take part in this journey.

What the south planned to invite Rin like this, Inuyasha and the others did not understand. But, they could not let the human girl to the south just like that, even though Inukimi was with her. What if the south wants to take Rin hostage again? What if the south is bad and hurts Rin?

Fortunately, Hanako and the other youkai from the south did not mind in the slightest with Inuyasha and the others to join their entourage.

Leaving Shiro, Aya, Maya and Mamoru to Kaeda, Inuyasha and the others can only quietly accept the sad look mixed with the children's annoyance at being abandoned. Because, they do not dare to take risks that might endanger their baby.

"D-where is Mother?" rin asked again, aware that he did not see the existence of the former ruler of the western land.

"Inukimi-san left a message for Sesshoumaru that you will be heading towards the southern land palace overnight" Sango explained later and released a hand that had pinched Miroku's cheek earlier. Smiling, the taijiya tried to calm down Rin who was still confused. "He'll join us soon."

Sango's answer did not calm Rin down as he expected.  In fact, the human girl's face paled. "T-no!!" suddenly shouted.

Rin's shouts and pale face instantly made Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango and Hanako shocked.

"R-rin can't go south!!" rin said again quickly full of panic. "Sesshoumaru-sama did not allow Rin to land south!!"

Sesshoumaru's cold voice and angry expression flashed clearly in Rin's mind, scaring him. What if that inuyoukai gets mad at him? What if that inuyoukai kicked him out because he had violated his orders?–he didn't want to!

Inuyasha did not like the idea of Inukimi allowing Rin to visit the South so easily. However, hearing from the mouth of the girl in front of him not wanting to visit the south because of Sesshoumaru, he also felt dislike. What the son of a bitch inuyoukai has done to Rin who is like his family, he cannot just let it go.

"Rin, calm down, it's okay" Kagome said softly. Together with Sango approaching Rin, they try to calm the human girl who looks increasingly frightened and panicked.

With his trembling hand, Rin immediately grabbed Kagome's hand and tightly gripped it. His eyes desperately held back the tears that had piled back up. "Kagome-sama, Rin wants to go home. R-rin please, don't take Rin south."

Rin's attitude and expression made everyone very surprised. This facial expression was a facial expression that they had never seen all this time. The human girl had never cried or been frightened to this extent even though her life was at the tip of the horn, why was she like this now?

"Rin, calm down," said Sango, his hand gently stroking the human girl's back. "Calm down."

"What's up, little Rin?" inukimi's voice suddenly sounded from outside the tent.

Blessing his head, Rin's eyes found Inukimi walking in with a bewildered face.

Disregarding Kagome and Sango, Rin pushed the table that provided her morning breakfast and got up. Approaching Inukimi, he clasped tightly onto the inuyoukai's hand. "I-mom, Rin doesn't want to go south, Rin wants to go home. You know, Sesshoumaru-sama did not allow Rin to go south."

Inukimi looked at Rin. The terrified and panicked expression on his human daughter's face inevitably made her sigh. This human girl must have been reminded of the prohibition from Sesshoumaru not to visit the south. Despite being far apart, it seemed like the inuyoukai ruler of the western land still filled the entire mind of this girl.

"It's okay," Inukimi replied softly, her golden eyes staring at Rin gently. "We're going south. It's better for you now little Rin. I've sent a message to Sesshoumaru."

"No!!" rin's protest was quick. Tears flowed down, his face grew pale, and suddenly, his breathing became irregular. Releasing your Inuk hands, the human girl sat down while tightly grasping the chest of her kimono. An excruciating pain invaded his heart.

"Rin!" panic soon filled the tent.

Running up to Rin, Kagome immediately checks on the girl's pulse. He could feel Rin's heart beating abnormally.

Rin's hand suddenly pulled Kagome's arm. His big brown eyes stared full of despair at that future miko, his breathing growing more and more disordered. "K-kagome-sama, Rin wants to go home.."

"Rin, calm down." said Kagome again, his hand patting Rin's back, as if trying to guide the girl's breath. "Don't talk first, breathe quietly."

However, Rin did not hear Kagome's words. He was getting more panicked, as well as his irregular breathing. The hand that grasped the arm of the future miko trembled violently. "K-kagome-sama, R-Rin moho–"

He had already violated Sesshoumaru's orders. The anger of the ruler of the western land, Rin did not dare to imagine it. But of all that, most importantly, what would he be if that inuyoukai expelled him and did not allow him to stay in the western land palace anymore? I can't see or feel his presence anymore.

Inukimi, who could no longer bear to see Rin's condition, raised her hand to hit the back of the girl's neck until she collapsed.

Kagome immediately embraced Rin's body which lost consciousness. Checking once more, he sighed once he felt Rin's heart had returned to beating normally.

"What's going on? Why is Rin like this?" inuyasha's voice suddenly broke the silence. That inuanyou face was no longer able to hide his surprise and worry as well as the others.

Inukimi did not reply to Inuyasha's words, her golden eyes staring at Rin full of worry. Why did Rin become like this?–the former ruler of the western land also did not understand. He thought, away from Sesshoumaru, Rin would definitely be calmer, but everything was like a double-edged sword now.

"That's Inukimi-sama's message to you, Sesshoumaru-sama." said a male youkai. In the workspace of the lord of the western lands, with his head bowed down, he knelt respectfully in front of Sesshoumaru with Kira and Kiri at the side.

Sesshoumaru did not say anything hearing the message that the youkai spoke in front of him. Sitting at his desk, the daiyoukai-looking face remained expressionless with both eyes tightly shut.

The youkai who delivered the message remained unmoved, but he could feel that the air around him had become extremely heavy. The heavy aura full of pressure felt extremely strong and made his body tremble. He was just an ordinary youkai who lived near the human village where Inuyasha lived. And, she never expected that there was a day where Inukimi appeared and forced her to deliver a message to Sesshoumaru.

"Get out." Sesshoumaru ordered later. His voice remained flat as usual.

The youkai immediately gave hotmat and withdrew from the workspace of the western land lord.

The silence again filled the workspace of the western land lord.  Neither Kira nor Kiri said anything, although the facial expressions of the two of them could not be said either. Both of their fingers clenched firmly restraining anger.

Rin went to the Southern lands? More precisely towards the southern land palace?–Kira and Kiri did not understand what Inukimi was thinking. What Akihiko's plan is to invite Rin, they know, as well as the former lord of the western land itself; the wolf youkai wants the human girl. So, why would Inukimi willingly take the girl there?

Inukimi was the previous master of Kira and Kiri, they respected him. However, the blood oath they had given Rin had made the human girl their master now after Sesshoumaru. 

No one ever knew apart from Inukimi and Sesshoumaru, the fact that neither Kira nor Kira had actually ever given their blood oath to Inukimi. The twins' oath from the west was to the ruler of the western lands, and after Sesshoumaru became the ruler, the oath was no longer valid for the Inukimi–daiyoukai it was not their master anymore.

Therefore, if asked to choose between Rin and Inukimi, Kira and Kiri will choose Rin. They would not be able to let the former ruler of the western land behave as he pleased and harm the human girl.

Sesshoumaru still closed his eyes.  However, inwardly, he felt an overwhelming anger. And the anger was on her birth mother who was taking Rin to the southern land. 

Don't make a choice that will make you regret for life, Sesshoumaru.

Inukimi's words flashed through Sesshoumaru's mind, and it made the anger in his heart disappear. 

Sesshoumaru knew, Rin could leave the western land palace and now head for the land south–he was the cause. Then, she also knew–she had been wrong. 

Choices.

The choice that Inukimi said, Sesshoumaru began to hesitate–does he have a choice? He forced himself to choose, however, all the same; he would still return to the same point.

A choice that always leads to a starting point is not an option. Whenever Sesshoumaru decides to leave Rin, release her– deep in the heart; she cannot. He's gonna go back to looking for that girl like a fool.

The future of Rin.

What would Rin's future look like if she dared to accept that tiny helping hand? Sesshoumaru for the first time thought of that

Is Rin still going to keep smiling?–does she lose her smile? Can she protect that smile?

Tell me, Sesshoumaru. Is there anyone you want to protect?

The last question of Inu No Taisho was echoed in the head of Sesshoumaru. In the past, he answered no, and he felt like there would never be forever. However, now..

Sesshoumaru-sama

The ever-smiling human girl called out her name, followed and looked at her fearlessly, then; loving herit turned out that she, Sesshoumaru from the west had already had someone who wanted to be protected. He already wanted to protect Rin when the girl was very young. From that day on; since little Rin smiled at him with a face full of bruises and teeth that loose one.

Had enough. Sesshoumaru knew now, that everything was enough. There was no point in him avoiding or letting go of Rin, there was no point in him trying to forget or kill the love that grew in his heart.

Future tense.

What his future looks like and Rin, what he should do ahead–Sesshoumaru does not know. But he decided to face it. He did not want to dodge and injure the human girl anymore. Therefore, all he has to do now is one, that is; bring Rin back.

Opening his golden eyes, Sesshoumaru opened his mouth.  "Kira, left, we're going south."

Opening her eyes, Rin finds herself in a room unfamiliar to her.

The moonlight shining through the window was enough to make Rin's human eyes see the surroundings clearly. The room he was in was a large and luxurious room.

Rising from the futon below, Rin turns her head to the left right, trying to find the figure of Inukimi, Inuyasha or anyone she knows. However, in vain, there was only himself in this huge room.

Standing up, Rin slowly stepped slowly towards the closed shoji door. Opening it, he felt the night wind caress his cheeks. Then, his brown eyes caught clearly the sakura trees that were blooming beautifully in front of the room where he was.

Fascinated by the beautiful cherry blossoms at night, Rin did not move in the slightest.

"Beautiful, right, Rin? " the voice of a man is heard seizing the attention of Rin who is amazed by the cherry blossoms in front of him.

Looking towards the source of the voice, Rin found the figure of a youkai sitting quietly beside the shoji door he opened.

The moonlight shone on the male youkai, allowing Rin to see it clearly. Short silvery blue hair with a pair of blue eyes. Two pairs of blue lines on both cheeks and a gentle smile on the face adorned his handsome face.

"A-akihiko-sama... "
