Chapter 54's

Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, Kenji and Koga sit quietly in their cave hiding places in silence. Their heads were all thinking hard about what they should do.

"Hey, skinny wolf, "call Inuyasha then look at Koga. "Your words just lied, right? The other wolf can't possibly like Rin, right?"

Akihiko smiled at Rin's greeting. A human who would smile sincerely and still give greetings to a youkai like her, might indeed be this girl alone in this world.

Stepping closer to Rin, Akihiko then sat down beside her. The smell of spring he kissed made him think, if this girl was by his side always, spring would always be there in his life.

"What were you thinking?" akihiko asked then, her sky blue eyes looking straight at the beauty of the girl beside her. The moonlight that was not full did not interfere with his eyesight at all.

Rin shook his head with a smile still on his face. "none. Rin thought of nothing."

"Are you thinking about Koga?" ask Akihiko again. "If you don't like him, I can make him not show his face in front of you again for good."

Akihiko's words stunned Rin. His brown eyes blinked several times digesting the words of the ruler of the southern land. But then, a smile re-expanded on her face, "No," she shook her head once more. "It doesn't need to be like that. Rin is right it's okay."

"You're not afraid of him?" Akihiko could not stop the question that was slipping out of his mouth. When it comes to Rin, he wants to know everything and give his best to the human girl, even if it means killing Koga.

Akihiko's question left Rin speechless for a moment. Pointing his head to the night sky once again, he then laughed and closed his eyes. "Little."

If he says that he is not afraid of Koga, then Rin knows he is lying. He vividly remembers how the pain and cold as the pointed fangs ripped through his neck during childhood—his first death.

"But" Rin continued with a smile. He lowered his head looking at Akihiko. "Rin thanks Koga-san."

Rin's unexpected answer caused Akihiko some confusion. Thanking you? To the youkai who killed him?

Akihiko's confused expression captured Rin's clear, and it made her smile even wider - a beautiful smile full of happiness. "Rin thanks him for the blessing that Rin can be with Sesshoumaru-sama."

The inuyoukai face of the ruler of the western lands was perfectly reflected in Rin's mind, making his heart feel warm.

Deep down, Rin thanks Koga and his pack of wolves for killing him as a child. Thanking him for tearing his neck so that the smell of his blood attracted the attention of the inuyoukai.

Rin thought, if he hadn't died in the past, would Sesshoumaru have allowed him to follow? If he didn't die, would he be able to be together with that inuyoukai until now?

Yukimura, the black-haired youkai and the pale-white face was smiling ever wider. "Applying cooperation to you Tsubasa-sama. Cooperation concerns Hime from the west."

Kiri and Kira kneel before the door of the closed room. They didn't say anything, but they knew, their master who was in the room already knew what they were going to report.

In that room, the inuyoukai ruler of the western lands sat with his eyes closed. His expression was flat, but not in his heart. Five days had passed, and he had withstood his growing generosity and emotions.

The brave South declared war on him, the south who wanted a rain of blood in the west and the south who dared to kidnap the human girl he loved.

Sesshoumaru-sama

'Rin thanks him because it is his blessing that Rin can be with Sesshoumaru-sama.'
