The warm spring morning sunlight entered the work space of the western land lord through an open window. The documents and letters that were scattered overnight, have now returned neatly arranged, as well as the work table that Inukimi destroyed.
The study room was silent without a sound, Sesshoumaru who was sitting in front of his desk did not move in the slightest. Like a statue, the inuyoukai had been sitting like that all night. His face was flat expressionless, as was his pair of golden eyes; void of emotion.
What had happened last night, Sesshoumaru still remembered it clearly. He should be happy, for what he wants to create has become real; the abyss that separates him from Rin.
Rin
Even though morning had arrived, Sesshoumaru could not forget the figure of the human girl crying out alone in the flower garden. The sound of sobs haunted him until now, making clear in his mind.
Rin who always laughs and smiles happy, cheerful and optimistic, warm and shining like a crying sun–. In every drop of tears, in every burst of sobs, Sesshoumatu knew he was the cause of it all.
When he saw Rin crying, he could not get close; guilt filled his heart. Standing still, Sesshoumaru could only see the girl crying to sleep in the spring night garden.
Then, as she carried the tiny body that was asleep in her cries back to her room, upon seeing the pale and teary marks on that pretty face; Sesshoumaru hated himself.
Why is it all like this? Sesshoumaru did not understand. He just wants to avoid Rin from a sad ending. He had never thought of making that eternal spring smile dim in place of tears.
Now, after this all happened, how will he deal with Rin? What should he be like in front of Rin? They both can't go back to what they used to.
"S-sesshoumaru-sama." Call someone hoarse from outside Sesshoumaru's study. His voice shook and fear was clear. "Whoever would like me to report."
"Lake in." Seshoumaru knew it was Jaken's voice. After the commotion he created last night, the frog youkai should be grateful to be alive.
Jaken opened the door of the workroom of the western land lord and walked in slowly. Fear was clearly emanated from his movements. The frog Youkai clearly knew he had made a mistake last night, the rampaging Inukimi was definitely not something he thought would happen.
Seshoumaru did not say anything, his two eyes looking at Jaken full of intimidation. There was a sense of dislike when he saw this frog youkai right now. The contents of the letter from the east last night, he was still considering it, but in Jaken's mouth, he seemed to have received it.
Jaken gulped looking at the golden eyes of Sesshoumaru who was looking at him sharply. With trembling hands, he handed me a letter. "A-there's a letter from the south, Sesshoumaru-sama."
Sesshoumaru's eyes were directed at the letter in Jaken's hands. Last night letter from the east, now letter from south–what really happened? But most importantly, why did the south send a letter?
"B-but, Sesshoumaru-sama," Jaken added slowly filled with fear. "This letter is not directed at you. This letter is addressed to Rin."

In the garden pavilion east of the western land palace, Inukimi looked at Rin who was in front of her full of worries. However, the girl in front of him smiled widely as she observed some flower buds that had started to grow out from the ground.
"Little Rin, come here." Call Inukimi then. His hands were outstretched towards the girl. "Let's take a break first."
Rin turned her face to Inukimi and nodded her head. Walking closer, he received a helping hand from the former ruler of the western land. The smile never disappeared for a second from her beautiful face.
Inukimi said nothing more, she guided the human girl into a terrace not far from them. Sitting side by side, she then gently stroked Rin's hair. His golden eyes stared lovingly at the adopted daughter. "Don't force to smile if you don't want little Rin."
Rin's smile disappeared upon hearing Inukimi's words, her two brown eyes widened. A second later, he smiled again. "What's max you Mother, Rin doesn't understand."
Inukimi sighed seeing Rin's reaction. Foolish girl, does she think she can fool all there is? His two clear brown eyes were now still very red and puffy, moreover, the smile that existed now was clearly a forced smile. Sadness emanated clearly from his pale face.
Raising both hands, Inukimi hugged and pinned Rin's face to her chest. His right hand moved gently caressing the girl's long hair. "It's okay, you can be sad and cry little Rin."
Inukimi's soft words and caress made the smile on Rin's face disappear again. Closing his eyes, he returned the inuyoukai's embrace tightly. "R-rin is okay, Mother. S-really, Rin's fine.."
Its alright. Rin continued to instill it in his heart. He tried hard to keep acting like he always did, he did not want to grieve and cry anymore. The reality would never change, and most importantly, he did not want others to worry about him.
Inukimi said nothing more, she kept silent and continued to caress Rin who was in her arms. The foolish human girl, could not be honest and continued to force herself, then also, her useless biological son. Last night when he saw Sesshoumaru chasing after Rin, he thought things would improve, but the reality was only getting worse. What's on his son's mind?
"Rin ke–" Inukimi opened her mouth, but her speech was cut off by Jaken's voice which suddenly sounded from the direction of the park.
"Rin! Ri–" Jaken ran towards the eastern pavilium terrace of the western land palace. However, his voice came to a halt as he looked at Inukimi who was looking at him sharply.
Rin immediately got up from his position and again forced a smile on his face. "What's up, Jaken-sama?"
"What do you want to say now, little youkai?" ask Inukimi too. His golden eyes stared at Jaken's dislike, as of last night, already twice this frog youkai cut his words.
Jaken's body shook with fear. Not knowing why, since last night, the mothers of the inuyoukai rulers of the western lands kept staring at him like this. But, that fear instantly disappeared as she looked at Rin's pale face. "Rin! What's wrong with you?! You sick?? Why are your eyes so big?"
Rin immediately lowered his head down. Fear filled his heart, was that as clear as his cry last night?
"Rin.." call Jaken again. He had never seen Rin's eyes so moist all this time. How many years lived together, the girl was always cheerful and full of smiles, worry soon filled her heart.
"I won't repeat my question anymore" Inukimi suddenly stopped Jaken from approaching Rin. His eyes looked at Jaken even more. Rin did not want to worry about anyone, and for this sensitive matter, this inuyoukai also did not want this frog youkai to interfere. "What do you want to say?"
Inukimi's second, pressing question brought Jaken back into fear. Staring at the golden eyes in front of him, he replied stammeringly. "S-sesshoumaru-sama called Rin..."

Standing staring out the window, Sesshoumaru's sense of hearing could clearly capture the sound of his open door.
"What are you calling my daughter, Sesshoumaru?" it was Inukimi's voice that was first heard along with the door that opened.
Sesshoumaru did not reply to Inukimi's question. He knew that his birth mother had come with Rin, and how they could be together, the ruler of the western land had no intention of thinking about it any further. In fact, she was even more pleased, Inukimi was in this room, because she didn't know what to do with Rin now.
Reversing his body, both of Sesshoumaru's eyes then fell on the figure standing behind Inukimi. Rin walked in with her head bowed down.
Rin immediately raised his head to look at Sesshoumaru, unable to hide his surprise.
Rin's.
His own name is simple. How long had Rin not heard the voice call his name.
Seshoumaru himself was stunned when he saw Rin raising his face looking at him. The face in front of him was now so pale with red and puffy eyes. There was no longer the smile and laughter that the girl used to give her as she called out her name.
Their eyes met, and a second later, Rin immediately lowered her head down again. He remembered how his face was now, his puffy eyes could not be hidden
No one makes a sound anymore. Both Sesshoumaru and Rin were silent, making the atmosphere very awkward.
Inukimi who was in the middle of the two of them could not stand the awkwardness anymore. Staring at Sesshoumaru, he opened his mouth breaking the silence. "Are you looking for little Rin, my son of a bitch?"
Realizing, Sesshoumaru looked at Inukimi. However, he did not answer that question. Stepping slowly, he approached Rin.
Rin who sensed Sesshoumaru walking towards her became very panicked. However, he did not dare to move. Nibbling on his lower lip was strong, while both fingers of his fingers were tightly clenched.
Sesshoumaru stopped right in front of Rin. He could see the human girl's reaction, and an extremely stifling feeling filled his heart.
Handing over a letter that had been in his hand since earlier, Sesshoumaru said slowly. "Letter to you from the south."
Sesshoumaru's words made Rin lift her head. However, he simply stared at the letter in that hand, without daring to stare at the face of the western land lord in front of him.
"Letter from the south? For little Rin? What does this mean?" inukimi asked in succession while walking closer to Sesshoumaru and Rin. Staring at the letter now in Rin's hands, in the heart of the former ruler of the western lands thought, what is the south planning?
"Open up and read the letter, little Rin." Inukimi said later. He must know what the letter is about, if the south wants to use Rin for their benefit, then he will not remain silent.
Sesshoumaru was silent, but in fact he was also as thoughtful as Inukimi. Western and southern relations since the end of the war in the south west are not bad, but neither can they be said to be good. Therefore, the south who sent out a letter suddenly like this was a big question mark.
Rin nodded his head and immediately opened the letter. Slowly he read the contents written in it. "Rin, spring has arrived. The cherry blossoms in the south are already in bloom. Hanami can already be held. Remember your promise, I invited you to visit the south. Akihiko."
Rin fell silent as soon as he finished reading the letter. The contents of the letter immediately reminded him of his promise to Akihiko, the ruler of the southern lands when asking the south not to fight with the west again.
Inukimi who heard the contents of the letter also immediately came to a realization. The promise inscribed in the letter is unmistakable is the one Rin made with Akihiko when the south west war ended; visiting south for hanami.
"Rin," Rin said slowly later. Visiting the south again was his promise, and he had no intention of breaking that promise, for the peace of the west and the south was at stake. Raising his head, he looked at Sesshoumaru. "Rin can visit the south right, Sesshoumaru-sama?"
Rin's sudden question left Sesshoumaru stunned. Ever since stepping foot inside this room, the girl had always avoided her eyes, and now, this girl was looking at her again just for wanting to visit the south? Just to keep his promise to Akihiko?
The feeling of guilt that filled Sesshoumaru immediately turned into anger. Akihiko, the youkai wolf lord of the southern land, she clearly remembered how she looked as she looked at Rin. Every move and his attitude towards the human girl in front of him was clearly very different–Sesshoumaru knew Akihiko was interested in Rin.
"If you want to visit the south, this Mother will accompany you, little Rin." Inukimi's smile looked at Rin. The hanami invitation that Akihiko gave seemed to have no malicious intent towards this human girl. The former ruler of the western lands vividly remembered with a smile on the face of the ruler of the southern land as he stared at his human daughter.
"Really, Mother?" ask Rin. Staring at Inukimi, a smile flashed across his face. "Teri–"
"No," Sesshoumaru's voice suddenly sounded cutting through Rin's speech. "You're not going to go."
Surprised, Rin's eyes turned back to face looking at Sesshoumaru, and instantly, his body could not move.
"S-seshoumaru-sama.." call Rin stammering. The pair of golden eyes of the western land lord staring at him had now turned blood red, conveying unspeakable anger. His entire life, never had he seen these inuyoukai staring at him like this.
"Shoumaru!!" inukimi shouted as she looked at Sesshoumaru's attitude which was suddenly filled with anger. What's with this son now?–he really doesn't understand.
"You won't go." Sesshoumaru again paid no attention to Inukimi. An overwhelming anger filled his heart. Rin smiled. After crying all night, she returned smiling thinking she could visit the south; wanting to keep her promise to Akihiko.
The blood-red eyes that looked at her made Rin seem like she could not breathe. However, not out of fear, but because of the tremendous pain filling his heart. He did not understand why Sesshoumaru was angry, not knowing where his mistake lay. Then, most importantly, he did not want that inuyoukai to look at him like this.
"R-rin understands, R-rin won't go." Replying to Sesshoumaru's words, Rin nodded her head with her voice growing more and more trembling, her pale face turning increasingly pale.
"Good," said Sesshoumaru slowly. His two blood-red eyes were still fixedly staring at Rin who was in front. His right hand was then raised to take Akihiko's letter which was in Rin's grasp. "Now, go back to your room."
Rin nodded his head again. Not caring about anything else, he turned his back and ran away from the workroom of the western land lord towards his room.
After Rin left, Inukimi immediately moved to clutch the collar of Sesshoumaru's kimono. His golden eyes turned blood red, his lips raised revealing sharp fangs. "What have you done to Rin, you son of a bitch!!"
Realized by what he had just done, Sesshoumaru's blood-red eyes returned to gold. His face could no longer hide his shocked feelings. What the hell has he done?
Sesshoumaru's shocked expression made the anger in Inukimi's heart disappear, replaced resentfully. His stupid son is getting more and more stupid by the day.
Throwing Sesshoumaru's body violently down, Inukimi stared intently at his son with eyes that had returned in gold. "I will take little Rin to the human village where Taisho's son and his wife are located."
Inukimi's words made Sesshoumaru grin angrily looking at his birth mother, her golden eyes immediately returning blood red. Taking Rin? To the human village? How dare Inukimi think like that?!
"I won't put little Rin in the palace of the western lands as long as you can't control your emotions. You're just gonna keep hurting him." Inukimi continued, and instantly made the grin full of anger on Sesshoumaru's face disappear.
Unmoving, Sesshoumaru could only sit staring at Inukimi with a distant expression. There is no more calmness of that face, all that exists now is confusion and helplessness.
Walking out, Inukimi did not turn her face back to look at Sesshoumaru again. However, just before he closed the door of his son's study, he said slowly. "Don't make a choice that will make you regret it for life, Sesshoumaru.."
