Chapter 83's

Standing in front of the southern land palace entrance, Kagome, Sango and Miroku stood with faces full of smiles staring at Rin. In fact, their so wide smile that made the human girl feel afraid.

"A-what is it, Kagome-sama, Miroku-sama, Sango-sama? Why are you staring at Rin like this?" ask Rin.

Kagome shook her head, with an unchanging smile. "It's okay."

"Right, Rin-chan," Sango added with a smile that also did not change, as did Miroku who nodded his head.

"God." Cibir Inuyasha while throwing his face and folding his chest in hand. It's the only one whose face doesn't care.

Inukimi who saw the interaction of the humans in front of her laughed out loud. Smiling with a smile that was no less wide than Kagome and the others, he looked at Sesshoumaru who was beside Rin. "What do you think, Sesshoumaru?"

Sesshoumaru did not answer Inukimi's question, as if he had not heard it. Both eyes looked forward at the figure of Kira and Kiri who walked closer leading Ah-un.

"Gee-un!!" call Rin happy. Both of his legs instantly dashed towards the two-headed dragon youkai who was whinnying happily and wagging his tail.

Hugging her tightly, Rin buried her face in the scaly body. Two of Ah-un's heads descended down, and the human girl immediately let go of her embrace. Slowly, his hand stroked the two dragon heads. "Rin misses Ah-un a lot."

"It will be more comfortable for you to sit in the stretcher carriage that I set up rather than sitting on this dragon, Rin."  Akihiko said suddenly. He walks slowly out of the southern earthen palace gate, and his pair of sky blue eyes stare at Ah-un with a frown on his forehead.

Rin laughed and shook his head. "Rin is comfortable with Ah-un. Ah-un has been accompanying Rin since childhood."

Akihiko said nothing more after hearing Rin's words. But, he saw the two-headed dragon neighing and looked at him dislikefully.

Today is the day Rin and the others return to the west. Despite the weight, Akihiko can't do anything more to hold back the human girl he loves in the south.

Slowly, Akihiko's eyes turned to look at Sesshoumaru who was beside Rin. There were no words spoken between them as usual.

"Thank you for setting up the carriage for us, Akihiko-san" Kagome said suddenly with a small smile at Akihiko. Both of his eyes could clearly see a chariot drawn by several large birds behind the ruler of the southern lands.

"I'm picking you up, so, I'll definitely drop you off as well." Akihiko smiled. There was a sense of relief that Kagome was finally willing to talk and smile at him. He knew clearly Rin trusted this miko very much, therefore, she did not want to be on her bad side.

"Sad." Inuyasha's lips once again did not care. He did not like all this, if only Kirara was on the side and they did not have to hurry back home, then even to death, they would not have boarded the southern carriage.

"See you soon, Kagome." said Koga who was behind Akihiko suddenly. He smiled broadly. "I'll take Ayame and our kids to see you later."

"I'll look forward to it, Koga." Kagome laughed off.

"No need!! Keep your family away from Kagome!!" inuyasha shouted. He stood in front of Kagome covering her from Koga's sight.

Akihiko doesn't watch the debate between Inuyasha and Koga anymore. Stepping forward, he approached Rin and Sesshoumaru. His two sky blue eyes stared at the ruler of the flat western land. "I hope you remember what you said, dog. I'll be visiting the west soon."

Sesshoumaru did not care about Akihiko. He was silent with a flat face as if he had heard nothing.

"Rin will be waiting for your arrival, Akihiko-sama," Rin said with a laugh. "Thank you for entertaining us so well in the south. Rin will surely entertain you as well as this when you arrive in the west."

Rin's words made Akihiko smile back. Both of her sky blue eyes were shifted again at the human girl, and a gentle smile re-expanded on her handsome face. "I'll look forward to it, Rin."

Sesshoumaru stared dislikefully as Akihiko smiled gently at Rin. Bending her body slightly, she then raised Rin's tiny body with her right arm.

"S-sesshoumaru-sama!!" call Rin surprised. Both of his hands immediately touched Sesshoumaru's shoulders looking for balance. His clear brown eyes were staring at the inuyoukai that was confused.

"We go home." said Sesshoumaru slowly. His two golden eyes looked at the human girl straight.

"Eh??" rin was surprised. However, having no time to say anything more, Sesshoumaru immediately jumped up into the sky and flew away.

When he was in the sky, Rin who was aware of his feelings of surprise then laughed. Looking at Akihiko below, he waved his hand. "See you, Akihiko-sama!!"

Inukimi laughed loudly at Sesshoumaru and Rin. Gracefully, the inuyoukai then leapt over Ah-un who immediately flew up into the sky chasing after her master, as did Kira and Kiri.

"Eh?? Wait for us, Brother!! Rin!!!" kagome cried out in panic at the sight of Sesshoumaru, Rin and the others who had drifted away.

Not wasting any time, Kagome immediately pulled Inuyasha onto the carriage that Akihiko had set up, followed by Sango and Miroku.

"Thank you, Akihiko!! See you soon!!" kagome shouted excitedly as the carriage started flying up into the sky.

Akihiko did not reply to Kagome, his two sky blue eyes just staring at the distant figure of Rin in the sling of Sesshoumaru. Both of his hands were tightly clenched. Once again, he was just a bus staring at the human girl he loved missing from before him without being able to do anything.

"We're going to split up here, Rin-chan." said Kagome smilingly looking at Rin who was still sitting on Sesshoumaru's arm. He poked his head out of the open window of the train.

"Eh??" rin exclaimed in surprise and looked at Kagome.

"You're going west, right? It'll be faster to reach the village if we take the east now." Kagome clearly again with a smile still on her face.

"Alright, Rin understands." Rin replies later and smiles a little. Splitting up with Kagome and the others this quickly made her feel a little sad, but she also knew, Shiro, Aya, Maya and Mamoru must have missed both of their parents terribly.

The sad expression on Rin's face can be captured clearly by Kagome. Laughing, he opened his mouth again. "There's no need to be sad, Rin-chan. Once in the village, we'll soon bring the children to the western land palace to visit you."

"Eh??" rin exclaimed in surprise, his two brown eyes widened to look at the future miko was confused.

"Yes. We'll all be right to the west palace looking for you." Sango added a spirit, he also stuck his head out of the window of the train.

Miroku who was in the carriage laughed loudly looking at it, while for Inuyasha, he again clucked dislike.

"Why are you all going to the western land palace?" ask Rin then. He was happy that Inuyasha and the others were going to the western land palace, but, he was also confused as to not find a reason for them to be there.

Rin's question was greeted with another laugh by Kagome and Sango. Slowly, the eyes of the future miko were shifted to Sesshoumaru. "Sister, why are we going to the western land palace?"

Sesshoumaru turned his head briefly to look at Kagome. However, as usual she did not reply and just looked at him with an expressionless flat face. Wasting his face, the inuyoukai then turned his face forward.

Kagome's laughter is getting louder. His two black eyes then looked at the confused figure of Rin as well as the expressionless Sesshoumaru.

Youkai and humans.

Different races, especially for Rin and Sesshoumaru. They are both the clearest emblems for strong and weak, hard and soft, black and white moon and sun. But, when they were together like this, they were very compatible. They unite without a defect.

Who is Sesshoumaru?–Kagome clearly remembered the first time he saw the inuyoukai. He is a cold, ruthless, human-hater and heartless strong youkai. But now, who is Sesshoumaru?–Kagome will not answer like that again, because–inuyoukai it has changed.

The Inuyoukai was still very strong and cold, but he might not hate humans anymore like he used to. Then, most importantly, he had a feeling now.

It was the human girl who changed him. With a smile and laughter–with her warmth, the girl conquered a heart of ice that had never melted for hundreds of years. For the sake of this human girl, Kagome knew, Sesshoumaru could do anything.

What was Sesshoumaru's question for him on the last night at the southern land palace?–it was a question he never suspected would come out of the mouth of Sesshoumaru the daiyoukai ruler of the western lands.

'How to propose to a woman according to human tradition?'

Rin stared at the bonfire that Kira had lit in silence in the darkness of the night. Slowly, his brown eyes then shifted to Sesshoumaru who was sitting in front of him.

In the forest where they are now, Rin is alone with Sesshoumaru. Kira and Kiri go in search of food for the human girl, while for Inukimi, the former ruler of the western lands disappears not knowing where to be with Ah-un.

The cold night wind then made Rin move closer to the campfire in search of warmth. Rubbing her hands, she then hugged herself.

"Rin." call Sesshoumaru out of the blue and make Rin raise her head to look at him.

"What is Sesshoumaru-sama?" rin asked with a smile.

Slowly, Sesshoumaru took off his armor and opened both hands wide. His golden eyes looked at the girl, while his face remained expressionless. "Come here."

Rin's eyes widened to hear Sesshoumaru's words. His face immediately flushed. Not daring to move, he could only stare at those inuyoukai like a fool.

"Rin." call Sesshoumaru once more.

With a red face, slowly, Rin then got up and walked closer to Sesshoumaru. Nibbling his lower lip, he then sat in right in front of that inuyoukai.

Not daring to look at Sesshoumaru's face, Rin immediately turned her body to turn her back against the inuyoukai. His head was bowed down, trying to hide his embarrassment.

Sesshoumaru could not see Rin's red face anymore, however, he could still clearly see a pair of human girl ears blushing. The amused feeling in his heart was unbearable, a gentle smile appeared adorning his face.

Slowly, Sesshoumaru's two hands moved around the little girl's waist and carried her into a warm embrace.

Rin said nothing or refused the hug. With a face that was getting flushed, his heart was beating even faster. However, a happy smile adorned her beautiful face.

Warm.

Sesshoumaru's embrace was so warm, Rin could clearly smell the distinctive smell of the inuyoukai that was so soothing to her. His heart beating fast then returned to normal, without realizing it, by itself, Rin's back then leaned on the sturdy chest.

Laughing a little, Rin then closed her eyes. Her two tiny hands moved touching the big, warm hands on her waist. Silently silent, she lets herself drift in the warm embrace of her beloved youkai.

Sesshoumaru could feel that Rin was now comfortable in his arms. The unique smell of spring he kissed, as well as, the warmth of the tiny body made him feel calm and peaceful.

"Rin." call Sesshoumaru again slowly.

"Yes, Sesshoumaru-sama." replied Rin quickly. With her most beautiful smile, she then turned her face back to look at Sesshoumaru.

"When reaching the western land palace. This Sesshoumaru will return to leave the palace for a while." said Sesshoumaru slowly. Both of his golden eyes were staring gently at the girl.

"Eh?? Sesshoumaru-sama, where are you going?" ryn asked surprised. Both of his eyes widened in disbelief, he immediately turned his back on staring at that inuyoukai.

Rin's question makes Sesshoumaru inevitably remember his conversation with the miko and the humans in the southern land palace.

"How to propose to a woman according to human tradition?"

"Gee!!!!" kagome shouted in surprise. Inuyasha, Miroku and Sango are hiding behind a tree.

They are now in a garden located quite far from Rin's room in the southern earthen palace. The park was empty, there was no one there but them.

"Sesshoumaru, you've gone crazy, have you??" inuyasha asked, he ran over to Sesshoumaru and Kagome from his hiding place.

Sesshoumaru did not answer Inuyasha's question, mutely he kept staring at Kagome waiting for an answer.

The still-strapped Kagome did not believe in trying to digest Sesshoumaru's question. Is that really what he heard just now? Apply? A lady? Human tradition??

Rin's sweet smiling face flashed through Kagome's mind. A second later, an extremely wide smile expanded on his face. "You asked the right person, Brother!!"

"You don't intend to propose to Rin, do you, you son of a bitch!?? He is a little girl!!?" inuyasha shouted again full of panic. Both of his hands were clutching the collar of Sesshoumaru's kimono.

"Osuwari, osuwari, osuwari, osuwari, "kagome said with a laugh and made the Inuhanyou fall down not moving one bit. But, he did not care, with sparkling eyes, he looked at Sesshoumaru. "You should do it as romantic as possible, brother."

Sesshoumaru remained silent staring at Kagome. Although he could not understand the romantic word yamg pronounced miko.

"Prepare flowers and rings. Take Rin-chan to a beautiful place together like in a sakura park. Then, you must confess your love and kneel on one leg, brother. Just then, take out the ring you provided and ask her 'Rin marry me.'–Kyaaaa!!!!" obviously Kagome and then shouted to himself indistinctly.

Sesshoumaru stared with a look of disbelief at Kagome who was still constantly shouting. Not knowing why, he felt that he had asked the wrong person.

"Kagome, you don't confuse Sesshoumaru." Miroku laughed softly. He shook his head to look at Kagome who explained how to propose to women according to human tradition who did not know where to come from.

"Rin-chan, would be frightened if Sesshoumaru did that, Kagome." Sango added with a jittery smile. Staring at Sesshoumaru, he could not imagine that inuyoukai was doing what Kagome– had said - even in his wildest dreams, he could not.

Looking at the human couple walking up to him, Sesshoumaru saw Miroku smiling. "How to propose to women according to the human tradition of Sesshoumaru, first of all, provide–Kimono."

"Sesshoumaru-sama." call Rin again and awaken Sesshoumaru from his mind. Both of his eyes looked back at the human girl who was in his arms.

"Where are you going?" rin asked again, puzzled by Sesshoumaru's uncharacteristic attitude. His right hand raised touching the cheek of the inuyoukai was soft.

"There's something that Sesshoumaru must find and get." replied Sesshoumaru slowly. His left hand raised caught Rin's hand on his cheek.

"Are you going to go long?" ask Rin again. His voice shrank, there was sadness in it.

"This sesshoumaru won't go long," gently pulling the tiny hand on his cheek, Sesshoumaru closed his eyes and kissed him softly. "Therefore, wait for this Sesshoumaru to return home.."

Sesshoumaru's words and attitude made Rin very surprised. His face turned red again, however, a moment later he nodded and smiled shyly.

Rin's reddened face and timid smile made Sesshoumaru smile again. Slowly, he pulled the human girl back again into his tight embrace. "Wait for this Sesshoumaru.."
