Around midnight I heard a knock on my door. At first I just imagined it, though, but then the voice came again and for a few seconds I was flooded with the thought that there was a ghost doing it because everyone was sleeping and the situation around me was dark and quiet so it made me dreaded.
I got out of bed and slowly turned the doorknob open, mimicking the way actors do in horror movies because sometimes I feel so happy imagining myself in the role, doing all the things that the actors were shouting at not to do.
I saw a body right in front of me when I opened the door. In the darkness I couldn't see his face, but I knew right away it was Devan. I let out a sigh of relief
"Devan, what are you doing here?"
She said nothing and then she leaned forward, her head leaning on my shoulder and feeling her weight falling over my body. I hugged him so we wouldn't fall
"What's wrong?" I asked and was greeted with the smell of alcohol. I didn't know Devan was drinking.
"DARIAAA" She screamed and her hands hugged me in an awkward embrace
"God, why are you drinking so much?"
"Gio and we went out drinking together because I told him that I liked you." He's in
I lost some of my grip on him and he staggered towards me but did not let go.
"Go to your room"
"I couldn't find my keys. I thought it was gone, I went to look for the key in the kitchen but I dropped it somewhere on a very dark street.I couldn't see anything"
he grinned at me." but you."
I let out a breath. I helped her into my bed.
"Sit down here. I'll go and try to find him."
I searched the dark alleys and stairs but did not find it. felt a little afraid of wandering around the dark house in the middle of the night but kept walking! I tried to look for it in the kitchen and in and around it but I did not find the little metal that made me sleepless.
After ten minutes, I gave up and returned to the room.
"It looks like you should use the guest room." I said as I entered the room and saw Devan lying on my bed, curling up into a ball. He's shivering a little.
I don't know what I should do. If only he hadn't been drunk, I wouldn't have had trouble getting him to the room.
I approached him and he seemed to be sound asleep. Unable to wake her up, I decided she would spend the night here. So I took off her shoes so she felt a little comfortable and took off her shirt, the tip of my finger rubbed her neck a few times so she shivered unconsciously I opened some buttons on her shirt, so that I could peek at her warm and smooth chest. I then covered her with my blanket, making sure she wasn't cold anymore by tucking the blanket all the way to her chin.
I watched her sleep for a few seconds, studying her chest slowly up and down with her regular breathing. Then I approached and gave a kiss on his forehead and then in both of his eyes and I knew he would not wake up immediately, so I let myself press my lips against his because it was so opiate.
After I pulled away, I rubbed her hair a few times and decided to go to sleep as well. I walked around the bed, got under the blanket at the end of the bed and turned to face her so I could see the shape of her sleep. This was a rare opportunity to examine her this close while she was sleeping, even though it sounded creepy.
I tried to get closer to her, lying next to her with my arms wrapped around her waist and her arms around me. Close enough that I could hear his heartbeat and hear the soft sound of his breathing.
I fell asleep when I saw him sleeping beside me
I was shocked when my eyes opened on their own the next morning
I saw Devan's face very close to mine, to the point that our noses almost touched. He's looking at me. His body was still in the same position but he tilted his face towards me.
I immediately pushed myself away from her but I realized that I was on the edge of the bed and there was nothing behind me.
Realizing that, Devan wrapped his arm around my waist before falling down and pulled me to his chest until my nose stuck to his collarbone.
Once I was sure I would not fall, I quickly got out of bed and turned away from her.
"You must go to your room now, Someone must have found your key." I said, busying myself with a hairband and tying my hair to a ponytail by turning it back.
"How did I get here?" She asked.
"You knocked on my door last night around twelve and said that you lost your keys and the keys from the kitchen too, so I went looking for him but couldn't find him so I would tell you to sleep in the guest bedroom, but you had already passed out in my bed before that happened."
"Oh." It was quiet for a while before he spoke again. "Are you okay?"
"Of course you have to get out before anyone sees you in my room."
"All right"
He moved towards the door and heard the door open before he came out and was left alone.
At breakfast, I tried to act like my normal self but did not think of fooling Devan. I didn't give her the chance to talk to me because I ran away to my room earlier.
I had to tell Devan that we couldn't be together and there was no better way than to tell him that I still had feelings for my ex.
Devan knocked on my bedroom door before he left for work and I opened the door because I didn't want him to think I was upset about something. He would bother me about it and probably accidentally say something he shouldn't have known
"What's wrong? I'm busy" I try to pretend to be cheerful
"Are you worried about something? I've seen your mood hasn't been good since you woke up." His eyes were full of concern
"It's nothing. Don't worry about me" . Without me knowing it sounds a little harsh.
He gave me a thin smile. "This may not be my business, but if you want to talk to me about it, I'm willing. And I like you, too, so I don't like it when the people I like get angry."
"That's no big deal. You have to go to work."
She looked at me for a few seconds, as if waiting for me to make sure that I didn't want to talk to her about it. I looked back with a questionable look
"alright. I'll go to work, see you at lunch." Then he lowered his head and for a moment I thought he was going to kiss me. So I closed my eyes in anticipation, but then I felt his lips on my forehead and then he chuckled softly.
I was stunned and disappointed, but I told myself that it was better not to happen. He ruffled my hair before walking down the hallway as I stared at his back until he disappeared.
