I'm Not Daria

I'm Not Daria
Adoption

I can make Daria's birthday party an amazing and luxurious party, very luxurious!.

The dinner was held in a five-star hotel, in the Serene Serenade ballroom. The whole place was decorated from top to bottom. It looked like a palace. If this is Daralyn's 'simple' dinner party, I never want to see what her fancy dinner party looks like.

Getting into the ballroom was a big challenge. When our car arrived at the hotel, the entrance was already crowded with paparazzi. They were very enthusiastic about finding out about the celebration. They seemed to have a bit of a feeling about it. Today is Daria's birthday. Daralyn's family is having a secret dinner party. What reason?

That's too obvious. Only a fool can't guess that this is the birthday party of Miss Daralyn's daughter.

With that, rumors will spread. The paparazzi will speculate and try to find more information. Not everything will be in our control. Somehow, the news will leak that if the long-lost billionaire's daughter is finally found, she'll finally be back. Mrs Daralyn will start forcing me to reveal myself. It would be big news that would circulate on all news channels for a few days and the whole world would be gossiping about the existence of the princess and what she had been doing all along.

"Darla!" Anna hissed at me, waking me up from the daydream.

We managed to get inside the hotel after the paparazzi were forced to step aside as they blocked the parking lot.

There was a strict order given not to allow anyone carrying a camera in and guests were asked not to upload anything on social media about the event.

We stood outside the ballroom door. I felt nervous on Anna's side because in less than a minute, I would meet everyone close to Daria. I'm sure there will be a lot of people.

For some reason, I felt as if this was my last day as Daria. My secret will probably be revealed with the slightest mistake. I have to be very careful because I don't want to get into dangerous territory.

Suddenly I remembered that I couldn't catch up with Mario. I had decided to talk to him after getting ready, but then completely forgot about it once it came down and was showered with praise.

Today is most likely my last day to be among these people and if it is true, I am not sure if I can meet Mario one last time.

"Here it is," I heard Anna muttering and the door opened and froze.

There are a lot of people around. Like a sunflower in the sun, everyone focused their attention on me and instantly I felt my throat dry up. I could barely move a single muscle and the men stared at me for an entire minute before Anna gently pushed me forward.

I didn't realize that there was a magnificent staircase descending down towards everyone who was now beginning to clap and sing birthday songs.

My cheeks are warming. Whenever it was my birthday and people around me started singing birthday songs, I always felt ashamed.

It was two minutes full of torture. Two minutes old and young singing birthday songs to me.

When it finally ended, I gave them a big smile, as wide a smile as I could.

I went down the stairs with Anna, thanking God, at least she was there with me. Mrs Daralyn and Mr. David have left me alone with her, she just gave us a clue as to where to go.

When I reached the bottom of the stairs, Anna left my side and disappeared among the crowd. I panicked, not knowing what to do

Suddenly two hands clutched both of my hands. It was Luna and Bella's hand. The two grinned at me which made me realize how much shorter I was than the two of them.

Luna was wearing a nice dress with a thigh-high hemisphere and dark blue high heels. The dress was dark blue with small, shimmering white beads. The dress resembled a cloudless night sky. Her brown hair was perfectly styled and she wore the perfect makeup to match her dress. She looked extremely beautiful and her gray eyes seemed larger than usual. Devan is very lucky to have him. Together, they seem like the perfect couple.

The room was filled with chatter, laughter, and the clanking of wine glasses. I was offered a drink by a passing servant but politely declined it. I did not want to get drunk and do or say anything wrong.

The two girls took me to various people, one after another. I spent over an hour just chatting and meeting new people.I was introduced to many members of Daria's extended family. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, long-forgotten schoolmates and some enemies as well as college acquaintances, and many more parents. not much to say and Luna and Bella came to help me more than I could count. I am so happy to have them by my side.

We try to meet everyone but not talk to them much because a long conversation will lead to a deep conversation and there is a chance that someone will forget about it. We'll always open a conversation with "I miss you so much. You have to visit me sometimes in the big house and without waiting for a reply, we will say goodbye to them and then move on to the next group we need to entertain.

There are indeed many people. Ms. Daralyn said that the number was not more than a hundred people, but in fact it was quite the opposite.

Many private photographers were hired to take our photos with every group we met. The whole place is huge. In the center there is a dance floor but no one is dancing and on the sides of the room, there are round dining tables that rotate slowly with about fifteen chairs.

I caught a glimpse of Devan, Liam, Jessica, Samantha, Ardhika and Nathalie talking. Nathalie looks stunning in a short aqua-colored dress, while Sam looks like a diva with a beaded two-piece top dress.

Mrs Daralyn and Mr. David mingle with the guests. I was tired of talking to so many relatives.wanted to take a break but there seemed to be no end to people wanting to meet me.

I briefly talked to Mr and Mrs Daralyn before the two of us were dragged into a conversation with different people.

Many people asked me about my whereabouts and gave me the shortest possible answer. Many times I just avoid the question with "does that matter? I'm here now and that's all that matters."

Luna and Bella were impressed by my acting skills. They were convinced that I had convinced everyone that I was the real Daria.

I looked around to find Anna who was at the bar, sitting on a bench with a drink in her hand. Gio was next to him and they laughed. Yeah, laugh. I can't believe my eyes. I just hope he will take responsibility and keep his drink intake and not cause me any problems.

"I thought I wouldn't be able to meet my sister tonight," Liam said, surprising me as she stepped forward and hugged me, I accepted casually in her arms.

I'm still not used to a lot of physical contact with my siblings. "Happy birthday, Princess."

I smile. "Thank you."

It was followed by Jess, Sam, Ardhika and Nathalie hugging me, wishing me a happy birthday and I thank each of them

"You look so pretty in this dress and this necklace. It suits you perfectly!" Nathalie said while observing my clothes.

"Thank you, Devan gave it to me" I said, staring at Devan. "Thank you" I said to him.

He smiled at me. "You chose to wear it. Do you like it?"

"Yes, I love it!!! Both!!"

"You never gave me a gift." Luna pouted, thrusting her elbow at Devan's side and she grimaced

"What do you want?"

"Whatever. I don't want anything from you" he said

Devan looked at him with a flat look. "That's why I never gave you anything"

I laughed at their jokes.

Luna glared at him before pulling me. "Come, Daria. Let's go meet my parents".

Laughter sounded from behind us as we left the group and searched for her parents

"My parents are Shinta and Pandu Wijaya, and Bella's parents are Viona and Tio Hannan. Daria, Bella, Devan, and my parents are best friends. They've been friends since High School Naturally, the three of us became best friends. Gio and Devan thought we were too feminine to be friends with" she rolled her eyes. "So the two of them weren't too close to the three of us."

"Oh," that's all I can say.

Luna approached a group of adults and patted a man on the shoulder. He turned around and grinned at me.

"Daria, Princess. Happy birthday" he said, hugging the surprised me. He pulled away. "So how's life out there? Fun enough?? I'm sure you enjoyed it a lot. I even tried to escape when I was a kid but I wasn't brave enough. You are different."

I smiled at him nervously.

"You remember me, right? I'm your uncle, Pandu Wijaya."

"Iii-iya How could I possibly forget you."

Beside him was a woman, Shinta, who thought that she was watching me with eagle-like eyes. I shifted uncomfortably under her gaze. One thing I noticed was that Shinta had green eyes and Pandu had black eyes. So how could Luna be born with gray eyes?

"Mom, stop looking at him like that. You made her uncomfortable" Luna came to save me.

"Daria? Not comfortable?" The woman scoffs. It doesn't seem too pleasant. I remembered how Mrs Daralyn told me that she had threatened Luna would marry her to someone of her choice if she did not stop her embarrassing habit and get a really serious boyfriend with her.

"Hello, Aunt Shinta," I said and she looked surprised.

"At least you learned some manners out there," she sneered at me and walked away with her husband.

"Well, that's my mom."

"Luna, if you don't mind me asking, are they your biological parents? I'm watching the color of their eyes and yours".

"I'm adopted."
