I'm Not Daria

I'm Not Daria
Plan at 12 p.m

"What are you doing here?"

"Why is everyone asking me this? Is my presence here so surprising?"

"Maybe because you have no business here. And your presence is also undesirable,"

"I have business with Daria. So you can go".

I'm not leaving until you do." Devan shot back.

"Let us both," Raka sounded annoyed.

"I can clearly see 'Daria doesn't want you here, so I suggest you just go."

"OK," Raka said as she grabbed my arm. "Yes, we're leaving. We have a dinner appointment"

I took his hand off me. "No, I don't want to. I told you I don't want to see your face anymore."

"You heard him." Devan said and pointed towards the door. "Show yourself out before I have to call someone to do it for you."

Raka glared at Devan and looked at me. "We haven't finished talking Daria"

I ignored him as he walked awkwardly around us and finally walked out the door.

"You okay?" Devan asked as he walked over to me.

I'm nodding. "Thank you"

"I didn't do anything"

"So, you want to go somewhere?" I asked, watching her dress up

"Yes, there's something important going on and I need to go take care of it."

I nodded again. "Okay, I'll see you." I turned around to go upstairs but stopped when he called me.

"Well"

"Yes?" turned facing.

"Do you have any free time after twelve?"

"No, I was planning on going to bed. Who wants to stay up until twelve unless it's not a party"

"Are you able to make time for me around twelve?" He put his hand in his pants pocket and looked at me who was standing on the stairs.

"Why? Don't you want to sleep?"

He shrugged his shoulders. "This kind of thing can only be done at night"

"Um ... okay? What's up?"

He shook his head. "You'll see for yourself. Just don't fall asleep"

I wondered what she wanted this late, but finding nothing, I just ignored her. I think I'll find out when the time comes.

...

When dinner time came, it turned out that he was the only one at the dinner table.

I asked Amara, she told me that Mrs Daralyn and Mr. David went to dinner. It was strange that they didn't think to tell me. But Amara said, they didn't want to bother me, so they just left after instructing the servants to look after me like a baby.

So there I was, alone at the big dinner table. Everyone is out, having more fun than me, I'm stuck here for dinner just in the company of myself.

Anna still hasn't returned from her date and mom's dad left about half an hour ago, as Amara tells her. Devan's been gone for almost two hours but he's still not back, so I'm guessing he'll have dinner outside today. He might be with Luna. Though unsure and she still wears her work clothes, there is still a disturbing suspicion that she is with Luna

I can't be bothered with it, after all they're dating and they should be together, but inevitably my mind drifts towards it.

I walked into the kitchen with a plate full of food and Mario was cleaning the table.

He looked up and frowned at me. "Didn't you like the food I made? Should I cook something else for you?".

I really like Chinese cuisine and the noodles it makes look delicious.

I shook my head and looked at the food. "The food looks delicious".

"Then what's the problem?"

"I don't want to eat alone. Have you eaten?" I asked, looking up to find out the answer.

"Not yet" he replied hesitantly.

I smiled at him. "Good, take some food and sit with me. We'll eat together." Mario looks unsure. I rolled my eyeballs. "Stop thinking too much and go to dinner with me."

"Daria, I don't think that's a good idea." He said with uneasiness

I frowned at him. "Why not?"

"Mario, you don't have to worry. Devan will never fire you. I made sure of that, promise me. And it doesn't matter whether you're a cook here or not. You're my friend and it doesn't matter if anyone says or tells me not to talk to you because I won't listen to them".

I walked towards him and grabbed his arm. "Now take your food and come eat with me."

Mario was still hesitating and I had to pull him out of the kitchen with his food and force him to sit with me.

I could see that he was very uncomfortable and continued to look around him, as if expecting something scary to appear out of nowhere and scare him. In this situation, he might expect Devan to come and kick him out of here.

I put my hand on her hand to calm her anxiety. "Can you calm down?

"I'm sorry" said Mario, putting a spoonful of noodles in his mouth

"This noodle is amazing. If only you made Chinese food more often."

He's nodding. "Your wish is my command."

I smile. He seemed relaxed after a few minutes and then we chatted as usual.

After we finished eating, I helped her wash the dishes. Of course she wouldn't let me wash the dishes with her, but she finally gave up when I threatened not to talk to her anymore. He really believed me.

After that we split up. He had to call his family to check on them and I just got back to my room, it was only 22:30 and Devan said he would be here around 24:00.

I have an hour and a half to kill time, so what better way to spend time than sleeping? So I set the alarm for twelve o'clock at night and decided to go to bed.

Not a minute had passed after falling asleep when I felt the blanket lifted from my face. I turned around and buried my face in a pillow that was too long to be considered a pillow but I did not mind it.

I squeezed the pillow closer towards me and felt something move beside me but I ignored it thinking it was Daisy.

Something rubbed my hair a few times and then I heard a loud alarm ringing. Groaning, I reached out to close the object but it stopped before I could reach it. Bizarrely.

I fumbled but something grabbed my hand and put it on the pillow. I became alert to the presence of someone in my room, my eyes glared and I turned from the pillow to see Devan looking at me.

He sat next to me on my bed and our intertwined hands rested on his thighs. I realized that the one pressing on my face earlier was not the pillow, but his thigh.

I sit down and dress up, I'm ashamed

"I thought you'd be back at twelve."

"Now twelve," he said, pointing to the clock at my nightstand.

My eyes widened. Didn't I just fall asleep a minute ago and it's only 22:30? And now it's twelve o'clock? Why does an hour and a half feel like a minute?

"Have you had dinner?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.

"Yes, you?"

"It."

"I told you not to sleep"

"I just decided to go to bed. Don't you want to sleep now? What do you want from me at twelve?"

"I wanted to take you somewhere interesting, but it seems like you'd rather sleep"

"Where are you taking me?"

"Let's know if you're going with me."

I groan. "It's true I'd rather sleep and eat than anything, but I'm a little curious, so I thought I'd go with you. I'm awake now anyway."

"Good"

"Are we going outside or where you want to be inside the house?"

"Outside, dress casually"

"Okay, now get out. I have to change clothes."

Devan was still wearing his business clothes when he walked out the door.

As soon as she walked out the door, I rummaged through my enormous wardrobe in search of something simple.

I found the hoodie I bought with Devan that night in Paris. A smile rang on my lips as I remembered that day and found a new part of Devan that I had never known before. I thought there was just business, money, and his jerkiness, but there was more to it.

So I put on a light blue hoodie and dark blue jeans with black converse shoes.brush hair and let it slide on my back. Then brush your teeth and finally be ready to go wherever he wants to take me.

A knock was heard at my door and I got up to open it. Turns out Devan's in his light blue shirt and black jeans.

She looked at me and then at the hoodie she was wearing and a smile adorned her lips that were the same as mine. We smiled at each other in consciousness for a few seconds before Devan grabbed my hand.

"Let's go".
