I'm Not Daria

I'm Not Daria
Late home

"I'm hungry too, you know. And I can't eat while I'm driving" Devan said as soon as we were on the road again.

He stared at the food in my hand as its delicious aroma spread throughout the car. She licked her lips and turned to face forward.

"I knew. I have an idea. Let's go to the cliffs we used to visit when we were kids".

"Would you like to eat there? I don't know, it's getting dark now." He said, looking out the window towards the setting sun and dark clouds.

"You took me there on my birthday at four in the morning." Piqued

"We weren't there for dinner at the time."

"No problem. Take me there!."

"As far as you are, Princess. Any other orders?"

I lightly pushed her shoulder, enough not to distract her while she was driving "Hey, I never ordered you."

"You sound very demanding."

"Alright, please take me there. I want to go there tonight."

"Now it sounds much better, doesn't it?

"Oh whatever. Did the princess also take me there?"

"Of course."

When we arrived at the clift, Devan parked his car and left his car lights on when I told him to. We picked up two extra towels that we used as blankets to sit on.

We put food and drink in front of us and sat next to each other. This is a great idea, an extension of our date.

We had the perfect view of the city where we lived. above us was a picture of a twinkling dark sky with a million stars in the distance and a half-hidden moon bathing us with its soft white light. We have an additional light source in the form of car headlights that we leave on.

We unwrapped our burger which thankfully was still warm and bit it, admiring the taste. We were literally starving after our adventure day and eating a warm burger under the night sky on a cliff overlooking a city full of life was the perfect end to this date.

We were so hungry that our conversation was just about complaining about how good the food was or how beautiful the scenery was. When we finally finished, we were full. We clean up the trash and put it in the car to dispose of later when we get home.

I checked my phone for the first time in hours. I was in trouble when I saw that there were some missed calls from Anna and a lot of messages and missed calls from Dad and Mom.

Devan glanced at me and looked inside the phone when he saw my troubled expression. He took my phone.

"I know we'll be scolded when we get home, so don't worry about it now. Will you do it for me?"

I'm nodding. "Oh my God, I'm gonna have a lot of trouble."

"It's gonna be fine. You don't have to worry. I'm the one who should be worried. I'm the one who kidnapped you without telling your parents. I'm the one who took you without asking permission"

"They won't throw you out for this."

Devan is right, but I'm not sure.

"really? Because I've packed my bags just in case I get kicked out." She laughs.

"You're right. Don't worry about this now."

I took her hand and led her back to the towel. We lay on it. Now the only thing that is visible before our eyes is the blanket, the stars and the moon above us. The city disappeared from our sight and his hand found my hand.

"It's good." Said.

I am giving my consent.

"Daria, do you think we should inaugurate it?"

"What do you mean?"

"I'll ask your father for permission to date you. And if he says yes, should we reveal it to the media as well?"

I sit up straight. "It's a little sudden. It's only been a few days since we started dating. And this is our first date. Don't you think we should wait?"

He shrugged, drawing a pattern on my hand. "I want to be able to date freely without feeling like a villain. To be honest I should have asked your father first, but something wasn't right. And if the paparazzi kiss me after the incident with Luna, it'll just make it hard for you."

"You don't have to ask him. I told you she doesn't mind us dating."

She smiled and brought my hand to her lips to give a soft kiss on her back. "Yes, but I still want to ask him. It's just manners"

"Come on, I can date whoever I want"

"Of course, but he's a little too protective of you right now. He just wanted to make sure I wasn't like Raka and you wouldn't run away again. He was right to worry about that"

Now that I realized where it came from, I nodded in agreement. "I think you're right."

"You don't have to worry too much now. I'm not gonna do anything until you're ready"

"Tell me if my head starts to feel heavy." I muttered

We continued chatting like that for some time and luckily the conversation switched to another topic After tenpm, we decided to go back. The journey home went on without a sound, we were both too tired to talk much, he said,

When we arrived a little after eleven o'clock in the evening, the house was still brightly lit, obviously everyone was still awake.

As we walked into the living room, we saw my father and mother sitting on the sofa, watching a movie.

The sound of our footsteps made them aware of our presence and my father moved from his seat to turn around and look at us angrily.

"Where have you two been?" He intended to sound angry but sound more like worry, which might be more than just anger.

"I'm sorry I brought Daria in without telling you, we thought we'd be back before nightfall, but our plan was extended unexpectedly". Devan answered.

"The two of you went on a date doesn't matter to us, but at least you can tell mom or dad." My mother said, yawning at the end of the conversation. She did not seem bothered by our departure like her husband.

"We thought you ran away again!" My father exclaimed with wide eyes. "Dad was just about to report to the police until he got a call from his assistant that he was taking time off".

"Dear, don't do this now. The kids are tired. They are safe and that's all that matters for now. You can talk to them tomorrow morning" he said, putting his hands on his arms and looking at us. "Have you two eaten?

"Yes, I did" I said.

He's nodding. "Let's go to sleep. He's starting" to pull David back

"alright. But I'll talk to you two tomorrow, especially you Devan." My father said with warning. I gulped.hope he'll calm down tomorrow.

"Yes, sure" he said

"Good night, you two. Don't go running away in the middle of the night." Mrs Daralyn said, looking at me sharply.

"No way" I replied in self-defense.

After they left, I breathed a sigh of relief. "Well, that's not so bad."

"It's not over yet. He'll talk to us tomorrow, especially me"

"But, hey, you're not going to get kicked out tonight" I said to remind him of the brighter side.

"Maybe not tomorrow either."

"will not. Seriously, it won't. Now let's go to bed, shall we? I'm so tired".

As soon as we got to our room. Devan paused for a moment

"Should I sleep in my own room tonight?"

"What, why?"

"I don't want to give your parents any more reason to hate me."

I blinked my eyes. "They don't hate you and they won't come to see me"

"Of course, it's possible after what happened today."

"You slept in my room." I wrapped my arm around her arm and started pulling her towards my room.

"OK, okay, slow down. You look so excited today to take me to bed."

"Shut up".

After I took a shower and brushed my teeth, I went into the room. Devan's been sitting on my bed, watching the sports channel. He smells good. She had a shower before me.

I climbed onto my bed and wrapped my arms around her waist, leaning my head on her shoulder. Suddenly I wanted to hug her.

She looked surprised but laughed a little and wrapped her arms around me, locking me up

"Let's go to sleep" I muttered on the side of his neck

"You don't have to say it twice." With that he pressed the button to turn off the TV.

She started showering my face with kisses, settling on my lips after she made sure my whole face had been kissed.

"I didn't turn off the lights by my bedside". I grumbled between kisses

"Nothing." He muttered on my lips.

"No, I have to turn it off. I can only sleep when it's pitch-black"

"I gave you two seconds to come back." He said while releasing me. He sat down to take off his shirt.

I turned around and reached out to grab the switch, but my hand came to a halt when I saw the figure standing outside my room door that was slightly open in my vision, their eyes fixed on us.
