I'm Not Daria

I'm Not Daria
The Luna

When I woke up the next day, I knew something was wrong. There was something really strange or something that really felt like a tense atmosphere.

I went down to the living room, there were more people than usual. I didn't expect to see Luna, Bella, Anna, Raka, Gio, my parents and Devan in the living room looking so grim in the morning. I could feel the tension coming from them.

Luna looked worried about something and so did the others.

For a moment I thought that Luna was telling everyone about me, but when everyone's eyes flickered at me and looked away without interest, except for Devan, I knew that it was safe.

"Hey, boyfriend!" Raka said and waved to me

I gritted my teeth as I saw Devan silently glaring at Raka.

I stepped closer to him and punched the side of his shoulder.

"Are you trying to have an affair with me?" Devan asked.

"No, no, no. He doesn't know that we don't have to act anymore." I obviously turned to Raka.

"I'm not your girlfriend. We don't have to pretend anymore."

She pouted, "That sucks. I really enjoyed it."

"Shut up" I hissed at him. "Don't make things worse." I pointed towards Devan who was looking towards the two of us with narrowed eyes.

Our whole conversation was slow enough that no one heard it, I immediately caught up with the atmosphere in the room,

"Is everything okay? Why is everyone here?" I whispered to Raka.

Everyone sat quietly on the sofa and Devan held onto Luna's shoulder. Luna looked really anxious and it scared me because I never saw her like this. If Luna behaves like this, there must be something big and serious

"Didn't you check Luna's Instagram?" She asked

"No, why?"

He took his phone out of his pants pocket and opened his Instagram before giving it to me,

To say what Luna posted. And what surprised me was the disparaging statement. I didn't expect anyone to see her, especially with the reputation Luna had before she started dating Devan, it was a fake date but still.

"Is this true?"

"A hundred percent." Raka answered.

What Luna posted was a normal photo as she smiled at the camera, where she looked as beautiful as her everyday appearance. However, what makes a scene in that house and perhaps also around the world is the title.

I have decided to be brave and honest about who I am. I never dated Devan. I just made it look like it was because of my mom. I was afraid that he would marry me to his chosen one and I felt that I would not be able to stop him because he had adopted me from the orphanage and basically gave me a life that I did not deserve.

I decided to be bold and tell the world that despite my reputation as a movie performer, I actually like women. I have been with a lot of men but it is only because I am confused as to whether I like them (thinking that maybe a certain guy is not my type and it is just an experiment) . I'm sorry if I hurt one of them.

But now I've been convinced of myself and all this time, I'm just afraid to be open because I know my mom won't be happy with my sexual orientation.

And no, I'm not bisexual. I'm completely lesbian.

I hope you can support and love me as you always do

I checked the incoming comments and were mostly supportive, but some of them were very rude and offensive. Some commentaries refer to Luna as a prostitute or other synonymous words. Some people are happy for her and some are happy because she is not really dating Devan. Some people are angry because it's all fake.

There are so many comments. He had never received this much comment on any post before. The number is like thousands.

"Luna, we love and support you" I assured her. "You are very brave. I'm proud of you. Aren't we like that too?" I asked, looking around at everyone.

There was a chorus of 'of course' and 'yes'.

Luna smiled at me. "Thank you, Daria. But my mother is the one I'm worried about right now."

Devan rubbed his back to comfort him, "Everything will be fine."

"He'll know that I'm hiding here and he'll come here to look for me. Devan, what if he kicked me out of the house? Will he accept me?" He turned around from his chair and stared to get an answer.

"Luna, honey. Your mother was my friend since High School. He wouldn't do anything like that" said Daralyn, my mother.

Luna shook her head. "I'm not sure he won't. She's never liked me and only adopted me because of her husband."

"Oh baby, I've talked to him. Don'worry. We all support you and I'm sure he'll understand you."

Luna looked uncertain as she began peeling the skin on her fingers with her nails. He exhales noisily and holds his stomach or chest every two minutes.

We waited about twenty minutes more as long as we all tried to make Luna feel better about herself, after which we heard the sound of the car stopping abruptly in the driveway.

Luna took a deep breath and a thin sweat appeared on her forehead.

Bella, who was sitting next to him, clasped her hands. "All will be well." He whispered calmed her down and she gulped before nodding slightly.

A few seconds later a couple entered. I recognized them from my birthday party and they didn't look friendly, at least the woman wasn't friendly. They are Shinta and Pandu Wijaya a couple who adopted Luna because they could not have children of their own due to biological problems.

Shinta had a firm countenance and she looked angry as her eyes looked at Luna who was slightly curled up behind Bella. The man next to her did not have a scary expression on his face, He really did look tired of something.

"Luna, let's go home". Shinta said as calmly as she could even though we all caught the underlying orders within her.

Luna quickly reacted. "No. Let's do it here. I know you're angry and that's why I'm afraid to go home with you"

"Get in the car. It's a personal matter. I'm not going to talk about it here." He gritted his teeth.

"In that case, I won't go home. Just say whatever you want to say here."

He glared at her and I was not happy to receive that look in the eye.

"Shinta, relax. Don't bother the girl. It's not easy for him to come along". The palanquin embraces his shoulders. "Let's get out and we should be embarrassed because he doesn't trust us enough to tell us first".

"Ride, no! Don't take her side this time. I've tolerated his behavior enough".

"Shinta, Luna didn't do anything wrong." Miss Daralyn said. "Why are you so mad at him?"

"Oh, I'll tell you why I'm mad at him. It's because he has a disease. The illness that made her get a headache and made her post that stupidity on her Instagram. I can't believe I spent all my money raising something like her and making me a laughingstock in front of the world."

"Stop that stupidity". Pandu said firmly

The woman walked towards him and clutched his arm violently. "You come with me now, I'll take you to the doctor. He will cure you of this disease!"
