I'm Not Daria

I'm Not Daria
Can't be trusted

We immediately drifted away from each other and could not stop staring at him while Devan began scratching the wall with his finger, as if he was checking and finding errors in the layout of the walls or paint.

"Oh my God, I'm gonna be late. I gotta have breakfast." He said and quickly went down the stairs.

Amara shook her head and closed her mouth. He looked down and snapped.

"I'm so sorry." He said, bending over to pick up the fragments hastily

I walked towards him and squatted down. It's okay." I said though not sure if it was true, I don't know how much this antique cost.

We awkwardly started piling up the pieces even though he said that it should not be done.

"Remara, about what you saw, can you not tell anyone about it?"

"I didn't see anything, don't worry."

"Thank you"

"Just I'm so surprised, I think you two hate each other."

"Not anymore."

"Go breakfast. I'm gonna clean this up.

"All right, thank you."

I went down into the kitchen and saw Devan was putting the dishes for both of us. Since we had woken up quite late, the others had already had breakfast.

"It was a shame." I said, making my presence known to him.

He looked up with a faint red hue on his cheek, "Sorry for leaving you there alone".

"It's okay, I get it. I told him not to tell anyone and he promised"

He breathed a sigh of relief. "I thought I'd be kicked out by your father."

I grinned. "Why? Are you afraid of him?"

"No, I don't know how she would react if I dated her precious little daughter."

"Don't worry he said he didn't mind if something happened between us as long as it wasn't a date"

"In that case, he won't have to worry."

I blushed in shame. "Good to hear. So what's your plan today?"

"Go to work, come to lunch, kiss you, go to work, come to dinner, kiss you and talk to you until you fall asleep next to you"

I chuckle. I was busy stacking pancakes on our plate when I felt her chin lean on my shoulder and she started helping me make pancakes while occasionally giving me a short kiss on my cheek or neck.

I turned into his arms. "Let's keep this for the bedroom. We don't want mom or dad to catch us like Amara did."

He immediately noticed the circumstances around us and looked around to see if any eyes were peeping at us. Fortunately there is none.

We were the only two at the breakfast table. We feed each other off our plates and it feels like we've been together for days and not just from last night

After breakfast, it was time to go to work. She went to her room to pick up her cell phone and watch, then I followed up to give her a farewell kiss.

"Hurry home, right?" I asked, pouting as I leaned my back against the door.

He looked towards me. "certainly"

I'll be back before you realize I'm gone." He said, putting his things on the table. She wrapped me in a hug, swinging us a little

"I'll be waiting for you." I pulled him back and kissed his lips

He kissed my forehead and cheeks

"I really should go." She said but instead pulled me into a deep kiss.

"Nobody can stop you." I chuckled

"OK, okay. I'm leaving now." He fumbled to unlock the door, kissed me and once we were in the hallway, we kept a few meters away.

I said goodbye to her and soon after that I started to miss her.

....

"Since when did Devan start caring about you?"

I was in the kitchen looking for a night snack when I was startled by the sound from behind. He looks better than the last time I spoke to him.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, why did Devan meet me after lunch and talk to me about why we weren't on good terms. Don't you just not think of him as a friend?"

"He talked to you about it? What's he saying?"

"He said that he realized we were not as friendly as we used to be and gave a long talk about how important friends are. We should not let trivia arise between friendships." He sounds pissed.

Inside my heart was very happy because she thought of talking to Anna for me, but I didn't show it. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to tell her that Devan and I just started dating

"Just he doesn't know that this isn't a trivial matter that makes me mad at you." He added

"Who wants to take you on a talk? It's a must." He scoffed. "I'm just here to tell you not to ask others to interfere in our problems when they don't know anything about it"

"If you don't realize it, I'm also one of those people who don't know anything about this matter between us."

He did not answer me, instead choosing to take a deep breath before leaving.

Anna really started to imitate me with her childish nature.

.....

It was after dinner. Devan and I lay on my bed next to her. My head was on her shoulder with my hand on her chest and she wrapped one hand on my shoulder. We're changing TV channels looking for something worth watching

"Are you talking to Anna after lunch?"

She's staring. "I told him not to tell you. Your friend is unbelievable."

I let out a breath.

"Didn't that go well?

"Yes, no. I'm starting to think we'll never be friends again." I said regretfully

"Don't think like that. I'm sure he'll be back."

I shook my head. "I don't think so. I've been friends with him for two years."

In reality, I've been friends with him for over two years, but this should fit my story.

"And we fought a lot, but this time it felt different. Whatever made him mad at me this time was huge. It's very serious and it's starting to scare me because I don't want to lose her."

"I'll be here if you need my help."

"Thank you"

"I wonder what's wrong?. You must have realized it from the beginning."

My brain kept turning to find the answer, but it was always unclear. It all started when I told him that he couldn't be with Gio.

But I couldn't tell her that because it would keep her questioning me.

"I don't know. It was a long time ago so didn't really notice it and then one day I felt she was away"

I felt bad lying in front of him.

"Is there anything else you want to tell me?"

The question confused me.

But I have the answer. Yeah, there's something I want to tell him. My Secret.

"Not really"

His face turned into disappointment, but it was ridiculous, he didn't need to be disappointed.

Maybe she was just disappointed that she couldn't remember exactly when Anna started acting differently to me.

I shook my head to dispel the thought of Anna.

"Don't talk about Anna. It makes me sad"

"Alright, sorry" He paused to think "Then, may I ask you something else?"

"What's that?"

He looked at me, forcing me to look back at him. "When did you realize that you liked me?

I chuckled, "I guess after you hinted that you liked me, when you cornered me in the hallway as I ran after you demanding what my fault was because you avoided me for a month."

He smiled thinly.

"And when did you realize it?" Much

"It was at Andrew and Silla's wedding".

"What's going on there?"

"We were talking to Andrew after the ceremony and one of his friends asked him how he realized that he was in love with Silla and he was the one. And the answer was that it scared me to see myself in that position and at that moment I couldn't imagine liking you, my childhood enemies who I think only know how to squander money everywhere, naughty and arrogant".

I patted her shoulder. "What's the answer?"

"The cheap answer. He said he started wanting to spend time together. When he wasn't together, he kept thinking about it. She enjoys the time they spend together and misses her when she can't meet. She always looked forward to when she would meet again and to the point where she could not imagine living the day without him. That's when she knew she loved him. And he has done everything"

"But you shied away from me as if I were a disease."

"I don't want to like you."

"Yes, yes, I'm a proud brat to you who doesn't want you to like at all"

"Not anymore." He muttered and kissed me deeply to prove his point.
