The prettiest girl at the party

"Oh, yeah. I remember the doll. Uh, forgot his name, sorry"

He smiled again. He seems to be doing that a lot lately and now it doesn't look like much fun.

"It's okay, remember. We named him Dalun, Daria and Luna."

I'm staying quiet. "Why are we talking about the doll?"

"Nothing, just reminiscing about the memories, you know. I sleep every day with the doll next to me to replace your absence"

"Oh, it's a pity that nothing can remind me of you."

"What about the bracelets we give each other?"

wha what?? damnit damnit!!!

"Oh.the bracelet. Is correct. I left it on my dresser. I don't want to lose her." I gave her a smile that I hope doesn't look nervous.

He didn't return my smile, he just walked towards me until he was right in front of me. "OK," he said, pulling his phone out of his bag. "I have to call a very important person. And hope the man answers."

I looked at him confused. "okay."

"See you later" he said, opening the door but stopping by the doorway. "Actually, I'll see you tomorrow morning at home, in my room at eleven o'clock. Wear that bracelet"

"Your house?"

"Yes, my house, I'll send a driver to pick you up. Don't come in your car or bring your driver or bodyguard. You have to be alone".

If it wasn't enough to scare me half to death, don't know what would happen.

"Um, okay. But may I ask why?" I asked nervously, afraid of the answer.

"Oh, I just want to have some alone time with you. I miss you so much. We're gonna have fun!"

The way he says 'happy' doesn't sound like much fun at all. I don't know what he wants and if he really just asks for time to talk together.

Without waiting for an answer from me, he came out of the bathroom, leaving me to ponder his words.

After a few minutes, I took a deep breath and came out as well. The party was still going on, but this time there were several couples on the dance floor, swaying gently to the music.

I walked towards Anna who was sitting at a table, staring into space. I patted her on the shoulder to attract her attention and it seemed like it was shaking her from a trance.

"Yes God. Are you all right? What does Luna want?" He asked in haste

I pushed him and looked around to see if anyone heard him. "I'll tell you later."

He nodded and sighed

"What makes you moody?" I asked, realizing her excitement was dimming and she didn't look to enjoy it at all.

"Gio is here. My night is completely ruined." She said, sneering at something. turned to see Gio was having a conversation with a man. They shook hands after a while and they left while Gio just looked around.

"Did he know we were here?"

"Why not? That's why I tried to hide from him. I'm sure he'll say something stupid to me and make me a loser".

"He's not that bad. It's actually really nice to be around him, not because I'm around him too often".

"Appearances can be deceiving, Darla."

I'm staring. "Yes. Coulda. I am an example of walking and talking

"Hello, beautiful lady!" Gio's cheerful voice reached our ears and we looked up to see him watching us while grinning.

"Hey," I said a little too quickly. We were so careless, afraid that he would hear us.

"Who imitates walking and talking what is an example?"

My panicked expression came to the surface and looked at Anna for help.

"And you interfered in our affairs because...? ". Anna asked, folding her hands in front of her chest. Gio looked at him from top to bottom.

"Because this guy wants to dance with the prettiest woman at this party. Said Gio, looking at Anna with a charming smile on his lips.

"I'm not interested" Anna said presumptuously.

"Alright," he mimicked his tone before continuing. "It's a good thing I didn't ask you" he said as he reached out toward me. "Can I dance with you, Daria? The prettiest woman in this whole party".?

"Uh..." I looked for words, confused. My cheeks flushed at the compliment and only nodded after she grabbed my hand and kissed her back.

"Daria! You're supposed to be my friend!" Anna grumbling.

"Um. sorry," I could barely say anything as Gio pulled me to the dance floor. The lights dimmed and we started swaying with a slow song that I didn't recognize. I prefer fast music.

"You did it because he rejected you, right?" I asked, looking at him with a guilty expression on his face.

"really? So you just want to piss anna off?"

He didn't say anything but I could see it clearly on his face. "Yes, yes, I did"

chuckle "Do you like Anna?"

"I'd say no, but then we both know I'm lying, so yeah, I like."

"Wow, you're quite honest,"

He shrugged his shoulders. "Yes, I am like that. Not too long to beat."

The atmosphere was silent for a few moments when a new song sounded and we danced to the beat of the song. From a distance my eyes saw Luna and Devan dancing tightly to each other. Luna caught my attention and looked at me with an illegible facial expression.

"I hope I don't sound rude because I don't mean it, but, are you involved with a lot of women?" I turned to Gio, breaking away from Luna's blank stare.

He threw me a question. "No. The last romantic relationship I had was about two years ago and it wasn't very serious. I broke up with him."

"If you don't mind me asking, may you know why? Just want to know. But if you mind, you don't have to answer."

He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't mind. I broke up with him because he was a liar, he lied to me that he loved me. He just sucked the money behind me from the bank account without any knowledge".

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"I've forgotten her now, I'll forgive her for taking money from me, but the thing that pisses me off is that she lied about her love for me?"

I didn't say anything.

"So you like Anna now."

He's nodding. "He's not a fake."

I swallowed the saliva that was piling up my mouth and gave him a smile.

"So what made you talk dirty things to Anna?" I asked, trying to melt the atmosphere.

"Hey, I'm just a guy with a dirty mind. I'm not a Playboy."

"You made it look like that to us. There's no way you'd get anna that way."

"It's so much fun to piss him off".

I shake my head at him.

A couple of tami walked to the buffet table and Anna decided to eat early so we could go faster. Staying too long will be risky.

The rest of the night passed without action and without meeting with Devan or Luna, and this is to be grateful for.

We told Mrs Daralyn that we wanted to go home and with a kiss on her forehead, we set off.

I met Mario on the way to my room.

"Whoa. You look amazing" She said with a plain smile on her face.

"Thank you."

"Where have you been? Are you hungry? I can make you something fast."

I smiled hearing his attention. "I've had dinner, thank you, being at the car launch party,"

"Uuh, you look so beautiful" she said.

I chuckle. "Thank you"

"May I -"

Mario paused for a moment, looking hesitant.

"Miss Daria, I'm here. Do you need anything?" Amara asked, not knowing when she came so a little surprised

"No, I don't need. Thank you." Thank you."

He walked away after giving me a smile.

I turned back to Mario."What did you say just now?"

He shook his head while smiling. People have been doing that a lot lately. "That's it. Good night"

I looked at him question markingly but he said nothing more. "Okay, good night" I said as I said goodbye and walked into my room to sleep.

I took off the unwanted dress that was still attached to my body.
