I'm Not Daria

I'm Not Daria
Wait around

Today I was determined to talk to Devan when I saw him wearing his suit, ready for work.

I didn't see him at breakfast so I assumed that he was done, I didn't have much time to catch up to him.

I grabbed a hoodie from the closet, quickly put it on and rushed down. Lucky she just got into her car when she got out the front door. He didn't see me because he got into his car at that very moment.

I ran towards him and opened the door before entering and closed it behind me.

He looked a little surprised by my actions and blinked his eyes a few times.

"What are you doing?" He asked, tilting his body to face me

"Let's talk"

He was angry and facing forward. "I don't have time to talk to you right now."

"I can't count how many times you've told me that in the last two weeks."

"What do you mean?"

"Why are you avoiding me?"

"I'm not avoiding you. I'm so busy I don't have time".

"Oh really? You have time to go on a date with Luna. You have time to eat. You have time to drink. You have time to sleep, you have time to breathe. But your time isn't there when you talk to me. You're telling me that you don't have time. I'm not stupid, okay? I know there's a problem. So please tell me. Did I do or say something wrong? I'm trying to figure out why you're like this and I can't find anything."

Devan didn't look me in the eye. He stared straight ahead while gripping the steering wheel firmly. "Please out. I have an important meeting"

I look up at him. "So you're really going to be like this? Alright. I'm not going out" . I sat down and put on my seat belt.

He leaned over and grabbed my hand in the middle of the seat belt installation process and opened the door for me

"I told you I didn't want to" he said firmly

After a few minutes of protesting this, he finally sighed in annoyance and came out. He ran to my side and opened the door

"Get out before I get you out."

I shook my head and gripped the seat belt I managed to wear

"alright. You asked for it" he said, bending over to remove my seatbelt. I stubbornly held it.

He suddenly turned his head towards me and froze when he saw our closeness, our lips only a few centimeters away.

Shortly afterwards he ducked out of the car, realizing that he had removed my seatbelt

Before I knew what was happening, I had been lifted from my seat by bridal style.

"No, no, no"

But before he could make me stand up. I held onto her. It might look silly hanging from her like a monkey with my legs wrapped around her waist

and the hand on his neck how did I get in that position?

"What are you-.." Devan tried to shake me and spin around to get me to break away, but ultimately failed

Five minutes later, I was sitting comfortably in the passenger seat with Devan reluctantly driving.

We were ushered in until he stopped in front of a tall building that I thought was his office. The building we went to when I was his secretary the day before was a different building, but I consider this to be the second office.

"Wow, this building is huge. Is this-is

I looked back but his car was gone and so was he. I could see the car in the distance, the smaller it was the longer it disappeared between the cars.

Was my presence not desired by her that she just left me?

I looked around, not knowing what to do or where to go

In a hurry to talk to Devan, I forgot to bring my phone so I couldn't ask for help.

I sat on the sidewalk and looked at my feet. What am I supposed to do now?

I continued to look at my feet for a few minutes before a pair of polished shoes appeared before me.

I looked up and Devan stared at me.

"You're back?"

"Don't you know the way home? Are you going to sit here until someone recognizes you? It's not safe for you here." He said, sounding angry at me.

I just swipe towards him. "You're the one who left me here." pointing the finger at him. "False you."

He rolled his eyes, clearly looking annoyed. "Come on."

He offered me his hand and I accepted. He pulled me to stand up. We walked to the car and he opened the door for me and closed it when I got in.

After he got into the car, he turned to face me. "If you go back home, will you go inside and let me work in peace?"

"No."

"I thought so." He grumbled while starting the car.

We stopped in the parking lot of the actual workplace, I remember it was the same building he had been to.

This time I waited for him to come out first before he came out. We walked in.

I felt uncomfortable with my hoodie, jeans shorts and sneakers, while everyone wore office clothes. The well-dressed men and women looked at me with curious gazes as we entered the elevator. I hid myself behind a veil and looked away from people, I was afraid that they would recognize me. I was uncomfortable with their eyes. It's a good thing I'm well hidden from view because of Devan.

We reached the nineteenth floor where Devan's office was located.

"So what are you planning here? I don't have time now. I'm not lying if I say there's an important meeting."

I shrugged my shoulders. "It doesn't matter to me. We can talk when you have time. Maybe at lunch?"

"I ate lunch while working.

"alright. I don't want much of your time. A few minutes is enough. Tell me when you have that much time for me"

"I have to go to my meeting now, you can rest there for a while," he said, pointing to a door in the corner of his office. I didn't realize it when I first came here three months ago. "And why are you dressed like that? It's a little cold today."

"I don't have much time to change clothes because I want to talk to you before you leave" I said as I walked around his office to observe the situation. I haven't looked around when I came here before.

"I'm so happy to know that I'm so important to you" she said cynically. "Just get in there now,"

I nodded and walked towards the door. The room is big. The room was warm and comfortable. There is a bed, a refrigerator, a large TV, kitchen utensils, and exercise equipment in one corner. Obviously Devan is using this room to rest for a while or exercise. It is great to have your own space at work.

I was just about to close the door, and I heard the door of his study open.
