"Are you seriously asking me out dressed like this?" Devan asked again,
"Yes, Devan, I know you're not happy about this right now, but trust me, it's gonna be a fun date. We're gonna do a lot of things"
"What-like?"
I rolled my eyeballs. "Should I tell? No, I'm not gonna do that."
Devan stared at his old clothes that I ordered him to wear He was wearing a faded blue T-shirt and worn sports pants.
I took her to the park.
"Are we going on a picnic in the park?"
"No. Today we'll find you a new hobby"
"New hobby for me? But I do have a hobby. I love to write"
"But have you ever done that? No right? You want to do it when you're old and have a lot of children . But it can't be. You should have a hobby now. Don'worry. I'll find something that you'll enjoy and won't take time"
"But why are we in the garden?"
"We'll start with gardening! We will plant many flowers." I said as I pointed to dozens of different and colorful flowers placed near a tree.
"I've marked a piece of land here where we're going to plant the flowers. We'll take care of him every day, water him, talk to him and watch them grow".
"It sounds like we're making kids"
"These are our children. Because we're going to plant it together. Wouldn't that make us their parents?"
Devan laughed out loud. "Let's do this, let's get the kids."
We laughed out loud as we each picked up a shovel and began to bulge the hard soil by digging into the ground.
We argued about how we wanted to plant the flowers. I insisted on making flowers of every kind to be planted in a row to make them look uniform, but Devan wanted to do it randomly. In the end, Devan won because he was looking for his hobby.
Fortunately I took it there in the morning because the sun was so hot on our skin when we finished doing it after two hours. We were both drenched in sweat but proud of our work while standing admiring it.
The flowers look healthy. We just bought it last night and nothing withered, we're glad we decided to plant it randomly because it looks so pretty. Doing it in a uniform way will make it look restrained and we prefer to look natural as if we did not plant it and the flowers grow on their own.
"It's so beautiful!" Devan exclaims. "I'll take a picture of it"
He took out his phone from his pocket and photographed a dozen photos on the same patch of land from various angles. Then he photographed us with the flowers in the background.
Devan loves gardening. He showed great interest and worked hard to plant it with me. This can be a good hobby for him. He enjoyed the process even though there were some unpleasant moments for him like when we found an earthworm and he was unwilling to touch the ground for some time after that. We had to call the gardener to take the worms and store them in the soil away from us.
Worms are soil fertilizers,, woi Daria, Devan gajar emang😂
"So what about gardening? Could this be your new hobby?"
"Fun. I like to garden. But if you do it alone, it might get a little boring."
"I'm sure you'll find something to do. Meet me in my room in fifteen minutes."
We decided to take a shower and after that we will do the next thing in my room,
"I'll water it again at night."
"no need. I'm sure the gardener will water our plants too."
"But I want to water our plants."
I laughed at his enthusiasm. "Okay, you did that. I'll water it with you."
We went to each other's rooms. I took a quick shower because I had to prepare everything for Devan's next hobby.
As soon as I was done. set up a wide table on my bed and search for the easiest video and connect it to the TV in my room.
Devab knocked on my door two minutes early
"Lake in!" I called
She had changed clothes and her hair was a little wet. Looks like he's wearing an unnecessary cologne because we're just at home.
"So what is this?"
"Origami!" I said while taking out some paper used for the same thing. "We're going to make butterflies, flowers and fish,"
I handed him some papers and started the video.
To say that we felt frustrated during the process of making this video, I don't think it's excessive.
I groaned as I squeezed another paper into a ball and threw it behind me. I picked up another paper and hurriedly tried to remember its steps and folded it to chase after Devan whose butterflies were already oddly shaped.
"me too. Let's just make some flowers."
We picked up a new paper, our butterflies lying near our feet
"It's definitely not a hobby. Origami is not something to be enjoyed." Devan. We managed to create something that was not similar to what we expected. There were so many old papers surrounding us.
"Let's get it sorted out. It's more stressful than my job." He sighed while crushing the fish he was making
I'm laughing a little. "Sorry, I think it'll be fun."
"It's okay. It is something that can be done without fear of failure. It feels fun"
"Then, don't waste these papers."
"Why? You want to remind me of my failure?"
I shook my head. "No, it's for whenever you want to feel this way again, so you can look at these papers and remember what it's like, I'll keep them in the drawer." I said as I put the papers in the bottom drawer of the dresser.
Devan looked at the drawer for a few seconds with a small smile on his face, then he looked at me. "So what's next?"
"How good are you at drawing?"
"I never did draw except when I was a kid."
"Same. But it doesn't matter, Let's draw and paint whatever we want. We can both be bad at this"
"As far as I can remember, you're not bad at art. Your picture is pretty good."
Damnit.
"I mean, it's been a long time since I last drew. It's been almost two years, maybe it's lost that talent"
"I don't think so. You can draw nothing for months and every time you draw, it's amazing. I always say that it's not very good, but I'm just lying".
"But it's been years." I'm insisting. "I'm gonna be really bad at this."
"Okay, all right, let's see"
I've made a mistake never thinking about Daria's talent in art. I think he'll be mediocre.
We sat at my desk at the opposite end of the drawing paper, paint and crayons all around us.
"What are we going to draw?" Devan asked as he rubbed his fingers on the paper and looked at the paint.
I shrugged, never thinking about it. "Whatever you want"
"What will you draw?"
"You." I answered.
"Me?"
"Yes." Yeah." I said then realized that it might sound creepy and I added. "Because you know, you're right in front of me and if it wasn't for you maybe I'd draw mountains, rivers, and houses with birds that look like the word 'Y'.
He's laughing a little. "alright. Then I'll draw you."
"okay." I blushed in shame.
It's an equally favorable situation. Not only did I have a reason to look at Devan as much as I could, I was also happy to see him looking at me with the same concentration as me.
We started working on our worksheets. I'm not very talented in art. But I gave my best effort. Because unfortunately Daria is very good at this and if I show you my worksheet that contains stick figure pictures on it, I don't need long for her to connect the dots.
So I worked hard to meet Daria's standards, not knowing how good she was. Obviously I would fail to meet her talents and start thinking that this was a bad idea.
When I finished, the paper was almost torn because of the amount of time it had been drawn and erased on it.
"Are you done?" Devan asked as I finished the final stroke of Devan's portrait with my brush.
"Yes.
"I'm obviously not very good at this. This isn't my hobby." Devan said, turning the page to show me my cute painting with a shy smile on his face.
I laugh. "My painting is no better" I said as I turned over my sheet of paper to show him.
He squinted and scanned my painting a few seconds longer than he should. "Twenty-four months really do damage."
I smiled uneasily. "Yes, I told you."
"You should start practicing. I'd love to see you paint like you used to. But, it's not so bad".
