A gift from Devan

I must have gone too deep and it took me a long time to reappear. I gasp.

"So it was so fun!" Bella squeals in the distance.

"Yes, I missed this last year." Luna added, both of them swam towards me.

I don't even know when they jumped. They must have jumped after me.

Surprisingly, I feel very happy. I thought it was a thrill and an adrenaline rush.I wanted to do it again but didn't want to because when I saw the water, I was sure I would be scared again,

"You shouldn't have pushed me to jump" I said

"That's Luna, not me." Bella said

"You're too long and I don't have much time in this world"

"Pretty long, though you won't jump anytime today." Devan said, swimming closer

"Whatever. Can we go now?"

"Why hurry, birthday girl. Can't we just take the time to play water for a while?"

Just as Devan said that, my face was doused in water.

"Whoa!" I said, rubbing my eyes to get water out of it

"Yes! Water fight!" Bella screamed, already pouring water towards Luna and Devan.

Luna immediately approached Bella and pushed her into the water.it seemed like she was indeed the type of person who liked to force.

I grinned and joined them, splashing water at anyone near me except Luna because I knew it was better not to mess with her. We had fun and spent about an hour just playing water.

At one point, I formed a team with Bella , Luna and Devan on the other team. We targeted one person from each other group. Devan and Bella's target was Luna .

I feel sorry for Anna because she missed this pleasure. He wanted to come but Miss. Daralyn has been asking for company for a while, to ask for Anna's opinion on the decoration of the halls at several hotels, menus, guest lists, and cake orders.

When we finished, we dried ourselves with a towel. All the way home I chatted with Bella, I was really familiar with her compared to Luna.

Luna is a little scary sometimes, but Bella is very excited and fun. He was always very enthusiastic and his energy was contagious. He immediately put me in a happy mood.

When we returned home, we went in for a warm bath.

It was almost three in the afternoon when we all ended up having lunch. I wanted to meet Mario but after lunch when he went to the kitchen to see him, he wasn't there. Amara told me that she went out to buy groceries. So I'll talk to him before we go to dinner.

As I was about to walk towards my room, Devan stopped me by throwing a neatly wrapped box at me.

"What's this?" ask him

"Look at yourself"

I tore the box and looked at Devan with a flat face. He gave me a box of dog food.

"Is this your way of calling me a stupid woman?"

Devan chuckled and I walked away glaring at him.

I stomped on my room angrily, opened the door and slammed it behind me.

The dog barked hard enough and my head jerked to my bed where lay an adorable pug dog.

"Aww..." I approached her and she looked at me with adorable eyes, the dog reached out to me, I held her in my arms and hugged her.

That pug dog is so funny. In my heart thank Devan for his amazing gift. But she could at least give it to me properly, not making me seem like a stupid woman.

"Do I have to give a name?".

"What name suits you?"

"I'll name you later. I'm so tired. Let's take a nap."

I hugged the snub near me and fell asleep. About an hour later, I was woken up by Bella who encouraged me to take another bath because she thought taking a shower was the first step to getting ready.

When I finished, I came out in my white bathrobe and saw two wrapped boxes that were not there before sitting on the edge of my bed.

Out of curiosity, I checked it before tearing the wrapping paper.

When I opened the first box, I couldn't help but be amazed by what I saw. It was a dress. Sherri Hill dress in red silk. I took it out and the dress was so pretty. But I don't know how that dress will look on my body.

Inside is a note.

I don't know much about women's fashion but I think it'll look good on you.

Devan.

I smiled and opened the second box. This one contains an amazing necklace. There is no doubt that the necklace was made of real diamonds and pomegranate stones. A Harry Winston .

There's another note by Devan.

It'll look good in that dress wear both if you decide to wear it to dinner.

I decided to wear it at dinner, I put it aside and went down to the salon to apply makeup. Mom has called some makeup artists for my performance today.

Two hours later, my makeup and hair were done. I asked them to make it simple and they did it in a beautiful way. My lips are painted red to match my dress and my eye makeup is amazing with a wide black eye liner and a red eye shadow.

The hair on the side of the head is clamped back and the hair on the back of my head is left unraveled with a slightly curly tip. A few hairs fell on my eyes and I rubbed them backwards.

When I finally put on the dress, I couldn't stop looking at myself in the mirror, going around and looking at myself again. That necklace looks like it was made for that dress, never thought it ever looked so pretty in my life. I thought money made me beautiful and it wasn't mine.

I glanced at the clock hanging on the wall and immediately rushed over when I saw the clock showing at seventy-forty and I should have gotten there by eight.

I walked out of the room and down the stairs to the living room. I wanted to drive with Anna, but seeing her dress so beautiful, I thought it was better to drive alone.

Everyone was waiting for me downstairs. Ms. Daralyn looked anxious for some reason, but when her eyes were on me, she gave a wide smile and rushed to hug me. She looked elegant in a black dress. She looked twenty years younger than her age and if we stood next to her, no one would have guessed that she was my mother.

"We have to hurry," Bella said as she glanced at her watch. She was wearing a rose gold halter dress with a thigh-high hemisphere revealing her long legs. Her lower back is open and she looks sexy "And you look really pretty,".

"Thank you, and you too."

"Where's Anna?" "

"I'm here," said my best friend as she walked into the living room, her dress very similar to Bella's, not knowing if it was intentional or not. Anna wore a metallic pink backless dress with a dangling neckline and studded belt around her slender waist.

"And where are Devan and Luna? And the others?"

"They're gone. You'll meet them at dinner. You'll be the one who's late today on your special day." Mom told me

"Eh, mom, can you tell how many people are invited?"

"Not much, baby. About a hundred people." She held my hand and looked at me to make sure I was okay

"A hundred people?!"

"Yes, but don't worry. They are all our close friends and family. You'll feel very comfortable" She squeezed my hand to convince me

"Oh, okay"

"Stop thinking about everything. Today would be perfect for you. So have fun, and let's go."

I nodded and followed behind him.

I had to deal with about eighty unknown people who felt very familiar with me. The biggest challenge is not to be caught.

I wish I could survive today....
