I'm Not Daria

I'm Not Daria
The guy Anna's dating

I arrived home about half past ten in the evening. It was not a house, for me living in a small rented apartment with two simple rooms was enough. The owner was a grumpy widow who was always impatient with her rent bill.

I reached into my pocket, looked for something, then put the key in the hole and opened the door, turned on the light and closed the door behind me.

I'mtired. I don't know why, but I'm so tired.

I had dinner at the cafe with Anna and was full. So just need a warm bath now.

Summer vacation is near and I'm really excited. Tomorrow will be the last day of college. The summer holidays last about three weeks. Many of my classmates are going home to meet their families. And some of them take family trips to different countries. Thankfully, it would be a nice respite than seeing the arrogant faces of my classmates every day.

I went to the bathroom to shower and brush my teeth. After putting on the comfortable pajamas I liked, I walked out.

I stood in front of the mirror, drying my wet hair with a towel. rubbing my long, straight dark brown hair and patting it back into place.

My eyes were brown and Anna always said that I looked thin, probably because I often forgot to eat and I didn't like snacking either.

After drying my hair, I turned off the lights and went to sleep, setting my alarm time to five in the morning.

....

The next day, as I said, I woke up at five. Every day I go jogging. Really, that's the only time to exercise.

College starts at eight . Usually before taking a shower I go jogging for about an hour.

Anna sometimes joins me because she doesn't live far from my house so I can quickly run to her house. When I got to her apartment, I knocked on her door. I didn't hear any sound from inside telling me that she was awake, so I knocked on the door again.

And it turned out to be the same, I finally gave up and pressed the doorbell. It sounded loud, so loud that everyone in the building must have heard it. I grimaced as the entire population bellowed furiously through their bedroom window.

I touched the bell again but before I could press it, the sleepy Anna opened the door. I immediately noticed her red eyes and the bags under her eyes.

"What are you doing here?"Her hoarse morning voice asked me.

"Um...do you want to go jogging with me?"i asked.

I didn't expect him to do it. He meant, he looked terrible. He probably stayed up all night doing what God knows.

"Pri.oke. Wait a minute, "Said and disappeared into his dark room.

"Are you sure? You have to sleep, you look terrible, "I said as I entered his living room. He wasn't there, so maybe he was in the bathroom.

After about five minutes, he reappeared, he looked fresh and a little less terrible.

Anna is so beautiful. He had dark wavy hair and his eyes were dark brown. He is a senior at State University.

"Let's go" he said as he finished tying his shoelaces. I went out and he followed behind me, locked the door and kept the key in his jacket pocket.

"You know what?. The story of when I went out on a date that night?"He said while walking.

"What's going on?". I answered enthusiastically

"I completely forgot, " he said.

She actually already told me that she was going to date a cute guy a few days ago.

"It was the most horrible date that ever happened" Anna confessed as she shook her head. "The guy's a real jerk."

"What happened to that date?"

Anna took a deep breath, and then she started to tell.

"We have a movie date. And you know what? He can't even pick a movie . And you want to know what's more surprising? He chose the psychopathic movie "The Human Branch"! Which guy asks a girl to watch a movie like that while on a date?!"He shuddered in horror as he recalled the incident.

"Yes right, that's right." I agree with him.

"I'm not done yet"

"You know again?"

I just nodded in agreement

"he brought me dinner. And he's the worst guy I've ever met".

"He also hinted that I should get in touch with him later tonight. And you should have seen how he eats." Anna made a disgusted expression.

"Like pigs?"I asked, I bit my lips so I wouldn't laugh.

"Yes. He eats like a pig! And he burps hard. And after dinner, he didn't even order dessert! Do you know how much I love dessert?!"

"I know."I said, glancing at him with amused eyes.

"And when it came to paying, he said that he forgot if his wallet was left at home so I had to pay for all his food, he said, in other cases this would be fine if he didn't want to pay but he wouldn't have to lie to me if he didn't have a wallet. He actually paid for the movie ticket, he took out the wallet in front of me, that stupid guy,"

"It was a horrible date that no girl deserves.", I shudder in horror at the thought of Anna being with the man

"Yep. And after that he wasn't even ashamed to drive me home. And it was almost one in the morning."

"really? God, he's a bastard."

"Yes" he said .

and a comfortable silence was created between us as we ran through the streets.

"Darla, what about you?"He let out air through his mouth.

"What?"

"You never dated, did you?"He asked, slowing down.

"No."

"Why?"

"Nobody asked me out."

"Dd-ann huh huh kh you'll be rejecting him huh huh huh ", he said trying to calm his breath.

I slowed my steps to get along with Anna.

"Yup."

"Why?"He asked me again.

"Yeahhh, first, I'm not famous in college, nobody even knew there was a girl named Adinda Darla . Second, each one of every single guy in my college is an arrogant jerk."

He chuckles. "That way you won't find anyone. Not everyone is like that. You judge too quickly,"

I gasp. "Well, I don't need anyone."

We continued the rest of our journey quietly. And after about half an hour or so, I went back to the apartment to shower, get dressed and get ready for my last day of school .

Today is Friday and the party is Saturday. Fuck the party, don't care about it.

I wore a cream-colored top with skinny jeans and pulled my hair back into a tall ponytail.

College life is boring. Unlike other students who have an amazing college life.listen to the word college alone I hate. I always wake up early because of that, even though I don't complain and want to get up at five in the morning, go to college or not and have no friends, there's another reason why I hate college.

I tried to make friends early but it was useless. The girls in my school are not the ones to be called friends. All they do is gossip or talk about girlfriends and about their personal matters, it's very annoying. Although not all girls are like that, but I guess, I'd rather keep my personal story to myself temporarily.

Boys are the same. Doesn't life not just revolve around such things?.  There are so many other things that are important . But oh well, nothing here fits my opinion. So I gave up on making friends, hoping Anna was on campus with me.

Some of them being nice just pity me, because I was an orphan and had to work to pay the bills.

I don't even know how, almost half of the colleges knew my condition suffered enough.

I walked to my first class and as usual and every day, time passed quickly.
