I'm Not Daria

I'm Not Daria
In cafe

"No"

Devan looked surprised, "What happened?"

"Don't be here. Just take me somewhere else".

"Why? The food is good."

"How did you know? You've never been to this place"

"How do you know you've never been here?" He grins

Because I've been working here for a long time and I've never seen you

"Eh .. Your first choice won't be this cafe."

"Now? Come on, it's not that bad. I'm sure you'll like it here. There's nowhere better" anyway"

Reluctantly I got out of the car and saw the familiar decor of the cafe.

I wish Mrs Angel wasn't in the cafe right now.Hopefully Farel, the man who just met here isn't getting a shift now. hope the girls who replaced us for a while will work now.

Devan opened the door for me and with a slow step entered the cafe. Just stood there, permeating everything. The cafe did not change at all. The cafe is still the same with a comfortable feel. A smile automatically found its way to my lips and I could see Devan watching me from the corner of my eyes, I cleared my throat and dropped the arch made by the tip of my lips subconsciously

Devan placed his hands on my lower back and guided me to a table in the corner of the room. There were not many people in the cafe because it was still eight o'clock and it was still morning.

To my horror, I saw Mrs. Angel sat at the table with the morning newspaper in hand and her head was immersed in it.

Shortly after, Farel emerged from the kitchen and walked towards us. When he glanced at me, he looked a little confused as if he wasn't sure if it was really me. I looked away.

"Eh, is there anything I can get for you two?" He asked, well aware that his eyes were on me.

Devan cleared his throat and ordered. I memorized the menu, but I still hid behind it and gave my order, not paying too much attention to what it said.

"I'd really appreciate it if you stopped looking at him" Devan sounded annoyed.

"Sorry, but he looks familiar. Wait, Darla? Is that you?" Farel asked and felt my heart thump

At that moment, I was confused not knowing what to do, I was so scared and my hands started shaking. I put the menu on the table and hid my hands under the table.

There's nothing to do now. The carcass will smell quickly

"Hey, Farel" I gave him a nervous smile.

"Wait, are you really Darla? He looked surprised, "Wow,"

"You two know each other?" Devan asked but no one noticed him.

"Yes, it's me. "I made it clear, trying to tell him with my eyes not to say anything more but to fail.

"Wow, you look different. You look so pretty"

"Don't call her beautiful" Devan again ignored when Farel called Madam Angel.

"It's Darla" she announced to him and he jumped down from the counter and ran towards us as fast as his seventy-year-old legs could carry him.

"Geez, it's really Darla."

"Hey, Mrs Angel."

"How do you know these people?" Devan asked, but it was hard to hear her amidst Madam Angel's tears of happiness.

"Where have you been? Where's Anna?"

"He's not coming with me. Angel mistress, please, I tell you everything later, I give a look that says so that she doesn't question me further. He was confused but he kept complying and ordered Farel to bring our order.

After they left, I saw Devan looking at me suspiciously. I have no other alternative. I have to tell you the truth

"Hi" I said nervously.

"How do these people know you?"

"I work in this cafe."

Devan looked surprised. "really? Oh, right, I remember you once told me you worked in a cafe"

"What do you mean?"

"Don't you tell everyone that you work in a cafe to support yourself as long as you run away?"

I opened my mouth to deny it. Devan thinks that Daria used to work in this cafe, not me working in this cafe.

It's flawless. He had no idea that it was Darla not Daria. He saved me from the moment I wanted to tell him the truth

"True," I said,

"Well, I-I can't reveal my real name. What if they recognize me?"

"Oh, but Darla's too close to Daria you should have mentioned another name."

"No problem now. I have to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back."

Devan nodded and got up then walked towards the bathroom. When convinced that Devan was not looking, I immediately changed direction and went to the kitchen which was separated from the living room by a wall.

Madame Angel was there, waiting for me.

"You better start talking"

"It's really complicated" I said and Farel began eavesdropping on our conversation while preparing orders.

I finally explained everything to him and he showed a disapproving expression.

"It's wrong" he said briefly. Farel looked surprised and could not believe such a thing had happened to us

"I know, but I don't have a choice."

"Right, but have you ever thought about what you'll do after you're caught?"

"I will most likely run away with Anna and come back here" I said slowly, rubbing my fingers over the familiar equipment.

Madam Angel sighed.

"What about college? You can't miss it just because of this".

"I know, I can handle it. Luna helped me."

He's nodding. "It's very good"

"I'll go now or she'll wonder where I am."

"Who is he really?" Madam Angel asked, leaning over so she could catch a glimpse of her figure from behind the door.

"The son of one of Daralyn's family friends."

"Oh, does he know?"

"No."

"Take care of yourself and you'll be back, Anna too, right?"

"Yes, right after this is over"

Madam angel nodded.

I immediately returned to Devan who was checking his phone.

Behind me, farel immediately came to bring our food. He put our order on the table.

I thought he was leaving, but suddenly he leaned over and brought his mouth to my ear. I froze and Devan's jaw was lifted.

"Hey, what are you doing? Stay away from him" he said.

Farel. "I just want to know if he likes you. He's so annoying when he sees you. See how easily this makes him upset?" He whispered in my ear, making sure that he couldn't hear any of this.

"What the fuck. Let him go, the bastard "Devan stood up, about to grab Farel's collar.

"He likes you a lot." He said before he was pulled away from me by Devan.

I pulled him back and whispered in his ear. "He doesn't like me. Quiet."

Farel smirked at me, while Devan looked like he was about to punch him.

"What did he tell you? Huh huh? I'm sure he gave me his phone number. Don't call him. Forget the number. He's not good for you."

"Let's just eat."

"I'm serious"

We ate our breakfast in silence, at least. Devan was too busy glaring at Farel for no reason that he didn't even know what he was eating.

After we finished, Farel came up with the bill and conspicuously slipped a piece of paper into my hand. This did not go unnoticed by Devan, even before I could see it, the paper was snatched from my hand and torn into small pieces and then thrown into a nearby trash bin before I could blink

"Let's go, shall we?" He asked as if he had done nothing.

I turned my eyeballs towards him. "All right"

I glanced towards Farel and he smirked tofu on his lips. I turned my eyeballs towards him.
